I love the body butters from the Body Shop and always use them when my skin is feeling particularly dry and in need of some hydration and some TLC.
I have bought loads of other brands of body butter over the years but they have never managed to be as good as the Body Shop ones.
This one is quite a good body butter though it does lack some of the pampering aspects that make the body shop butters so special.
The thing that this has going for it though is that it is so cheap and I bought a tub of this for only £1.99. Because it was so cheap I wasn’t expecting very much from it but it pleasantly surprised me as although not quite as nice as my favourite body shop ones it is better than a lot of other more expensive butters I have tried.
It is coconut scented which is a lovely smell for a body butter and it is quite highly fragranced so when you apply it the butter really scents your skin and you can smell it on your skin for hours afterwards.
The cream is maybe not as thick as I am used too with a body butter but it still manages to hydrate my skin and put some moisture back into it. It isn’t greasy feeling and once it is absorbed it doesn’t leave any greasy residue on it.
Other than the smell which is lovely this is more a utilitarian body butter that does the job of moisturising your skin but it doesn’t feel as luxurious and pampering as some others but for the cheap price you can overlook that and it is a good option for someone who doesn’t care about being pampered and is just looking for a nice smelling cream to help combat dryness.
When it comes to skin, i cannot stand it being dry anywhere! I tend to purchase and go through quite a lot of moisturizers and body butters as i use them daily and liberally. Whilst i want soft, supple and nice smelling skin, my budget is not high. This body butter fits my needs perfectly!
I think the packaging of this butter makes it look like it is worth much more than it is..... wait for it...... its..... £1! Yes you did read correctly, this can be found in pound and saver stores. At that price i made no hesitation in giving it a try and i was not disappointed.
When first opening the tub i first noticed the ever so coconut smell... i loved it! As much as i wanted to smother myself in this coconut goodness, i understand for some of you it may be a little overpowering if you prefer more neutral smelling creams.
Secondly, i noticed just how thick the cream is which for me is a bonus cannot stand watery moisturizers. It does need a thorough rub in because it is so thick but for dry areas of skin like elbows and feet it works a treat. I use it all over, and although i may have been mistaken for a tropical fruit, its so cheap its a must try!
Derma V10 is a brand that can be found in places like Wilkinsons and pound shops, and as you would expect knowing that, their products generally cost £1 each. It's not something I would have even looked at a couple of years ago but now I'm trying to save money I've been giving some of their products a try. I picked up the Derma V10 Cocoa Body butter for £1 in Wilkinsons.
The body butter comes in a large, round plastic pot, similar to the Body Shop's body butters. It has a screw off lid which is easy to open and close, and under this lid is a plastic cover that goes over the top of the butter, stopping it from going into the lid. I was surprised by this as it's a little touch I usually expect from more expensive brands, but that even the Body shop doesn't do, yet this much cheaper brand does. Fantastic.
The butter itself is thick in consistency as you would expect of a body butter. It has a smooth creamy texture but has something about it that's impossible to describe that just makes it different to any other body butter I've used before. It glides smoothly onto my skin and is easy to massage in, absorbing fairly quickly, especially considering it's thick consistency.
I find this sinks quite nicely into the skin so that even before it's fully absorbed it doesn't feel greasy or heavy on my skin, but leaves it feeling really soft and smooth. The scent of the butter is absolutely lovely, which surprised me as I usually just about tolerate cocoa butter smells, but this actually smells really delicious and makes me want to eat it (which you shouldn't do, obviously). The scent lingers all day too, so I like to use it on my hands because then I get a whiff of it every time I put my hands to my face.
I htink this does a really good job of moisturising my skin and since I've been using it I've definitely noticed an improvement in the look and feel of my skin. It gives my skin a nice dewy sheen to it that makes it look really healthy, and where I've used it on dry patches they are now nowhere to be seen after just a couple of weeks use. I think this proves that you don't have to pay over the odds for effective products.
Al in all I'm really impressed with this body butter and I'll definitely be buying it again.
I quite often buy myself body butters and lotions and in fact I tend to use them once and give them away or bin them usually however I bought this one in my local B & M store and it only cost me a pound and I had a crafty whiff of this in the store and rather liked it so bought it along with loads of other stuff as usual. That store really is bad for my bank balance I will tell you that much!
The packaging of this is nice enough. The white plastic tub has a twist on/off lid to the top of it and holds 220ml of the body butter and on the lid we are told clearly what it is and who it is by and on mine there is a picture of a coconut shown and of course the size is stated and other information on the base of the tub lists the ingredients and contact details for the manufacturer. Like I say its a nice enough tub and it is easy enough to open and close and so on.
The Butter Itself:
This is a thick white cream and smells really natural and of coconuts and I adore the smell of this one which is what made my purchase it in the beginning. A little of this cream goes a very long way indeed and it feels moisturising and cooling as it is being applied and it is quickly absorbed by my skin allowing me to get dressed pretty quickly after application which is a great thing for me cos I hate hanging about!
This is highly moisturising for me though not one bit too much so or greasy or anything like that, I smell lovely for hours and I have noticed that by using this a couple of times a week that the feeling and appearance of my skin is so much smoother and generally looks brighter.
This really is a little bargain buy and really moisturising without congesting any of my pores or making me feeling like a grease monkey and yep I will happily buy this time and time again in the future though to be fair cos a little of it goes a very long way indeed I won't need to repurchase this very often at all!
Google if interested in this one!

I bought this ages ago from my local Home Bargains store where I paid about £1 for a 250ml tub. I actually opted for the cocoa butter version but I think there were a few other options to choose from. Looking online now I can see that aswell as the coconut option shown above there are fruity fragrances such as strawberry too.
The body butter comes in a large round tub with a screw on lid. I actually really like the design of the tub and I don't think it looks cheap at all. The butter inside is thick and although it is solid its not hard to get out of the tub. It has a sort of peachy colour to it and there is a strong yet pleasant aroma of cocoa butter.
I mainly use this on my feet but I have used it all over my body too. To use you simply rub the butter in to dry skin. I find that when you put it on your skin it softens a bit making it easy to apply. It is absorbed into the skin quickly and doesnt leave that annoying tacky feel that some body creams do.
When I apply this it is immediately noticeable that it is nourishing and caring for my skin. My skin feels soft and supple and cared for and I can definitely see an immediate difference. Of course for best results this should be used daily but I never manage that! However, if used two or three times a week it is clear to see the difference.
I like this body butter and would definitely recommend it. It smells nice with the scent lingering on your skin for a good few hours after application and it really nourishes and cares for skin. The price is absolutely fantastic and it performs like it costs much more. Recommended.
WHAT IS IT?
A 220ml pot of body butter that comes in a few different fragrances. The one I bought recent to try the brand out was a coconut fragrance because that is my favourite for body products like this.
The fragrance of this body butter is quite strong of coconut but it has got a sweet buttery smell as well that I like very much. It is not a very rich fragrance but the smell stays good on my skin so that I can smell the coconut for a long time after I have applied it.
WHAT I THINK
Derma V10 make body products that are cheaply priced for people who are on a budget. This 220ml pot cost me only £1.20 and I think that it is as good as the coconut body butter that I buy from the Body Shop.
It has got a thinner texture that the Body Shop body butters but I do not care about that because it still feels very rich and like it is moisturising my skin deep down as well as just at the top. It dries very quickly and I do not think it is greasy at all after it has dried. It makes my skin feel very soft and if I have got any parts that are more dry then this body butter moisturises them well so that they get better again, it is effective all over my body and it is not sticky so I can dress immediate after applying.
I like the way my skin smells and feels after I have used this body butter and I am very surprised because of it being so cheap to buy. I only have to use a little bit so the pot lasts for a long time, it spreads very easy so you should only take a little bit out of the pot because it is a surprise that you do not need very much to cover all of your body. I like also that the body butter does not feel cold when I apply it.
I am going to buy this body butter again because it is effective and a bargain, next time I am going to try one of the other fragrances as well because they are so cheap that I can buy them all if I like them.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
I picked up this body butter in our local Discount Store for 99p which I thought was a great price especially when you think what you pay for branded body butters such as Body Shop so in turn I didn't expect it to be very good but I wanted to see if there was a cheaper option.
The body butter comes in a white plastic tub which contains 220mls so is a decent sized tub, on the front of the tub you have pictures of Coconuts and it states that the body butter is for normal to dry skin. The lid of the tub unscrews and inside you have a lovely thick white cream with a very strong smell of coconuts.
I really dislike coconut but love the smell so was glad that the cream smelt so strongly, the cream is very thick and it spreads over your skin really well so you don't need to use too much of it so a tub lasts well. The cream rubs in really well and loves my skin feeling nice and soft, it doesn't leave your skin greasy at all.
The tub is really sturdy and I have dropped it a couple of times and it hasn't cracked at all and the lid still fastens on the tub firmly.
I love using this on my hands mainly as I have contact dermatitus and my hands get really dry but it obviouly isn't any good to carry around with me so I only use it on a morning or night, the smell lasts really well and even after being at work a couple of hours and washing my hands numerous times I still get a whiff of coconuts.
I think this is fantastic for 99p however the Body Shop body butters do leave your skin feeling softer for longer than this one does but that is the only difference in them and of course the price!
Derma V10 Coconut Body Butter 220ml
I always like to have plenty of moisturiser in the house and tend to stock up on different types when I see them on offer or in my local bargain store.
This body butter is one of my latest purchases bought for 99p which if its effective and for 220ml is tremendous value.
It promises to be a luscious cream for dry, chapped or sunburned skin so clearly it should be handy for the winter and summer months.
The product comes packaged in a plastic tub with a screw on/off lid. I do tend to like these products in tubs because it means I can get to the very end of the product without any of it being wasted as sometimes happens in bottles when they have to be shaken and hit to get all of the body cream out.
I unscrew the lid and there is a strong coconut smell but not offensive or overpowering but definitely not for anyone who dislikes the smell of coconut. The body butter is white and when I dip my finger into the butter it feels thick and creamy and as though it will leave my skin nicely moisturised.
It is recommended that the butter is applied all over the body to nourish and rebuild skin tissue for a radiant glow. When I apply it I find that a little of the product does go a long way and it massages easily into my skin leaving no stickiness or white coating on my skin. It does leave a nice coconut aroma on my skin which lasts for some time but I tend to apply it after my bath in the evening so in the morning it isn't there any more and so doesn't mingle with any perfume I may apply.
A great value body butter. The product is gentle on my skin and for us is suitable for the whole family. I used it when we returned from holiday and it certainly did the trick on dry skin.
It has a nice scent is easy to apply and doesn't leave me feeling greasy but instead after using it my skin feels soft and silky.
Recommended for anyone wanting a cheap and effective body moisturiser.
