Advantages: Nice scent
Disadvantages: Bubbles don't last long
There is nothing I love more than a nice hot bath with loads of lovely smelling bubbles! I love trying all different bubble baths and even when I find one I like I never stick to it but go straight on to the next new one. I really do love the Dove brand and have tried most of the body washes and bath creams but had never tried this one, so did this one make me change my habit and actually stick with it?
COMPANY HISTORY
Dove is a Unilever product and was first launched in America in the 1950's it started with the cleansing bar that was actually developed to treat burn victims during the war. It wasn't released as a beauty bar until 1957 when it was reformulated and renamed the "Original Dove Beauty bar". This soap was aimed at people for dry and sensitive skin, and in 1970 was tested by dermatologists which proved it was milder than 17 of the leading soaps at the time.
Dove came to the UK 12 years ago and became famous for its bath time products and body washes. In 2000 dove started branching out into to deodorants, hair care and body moisturisers, in 2004 came the firming range (and not a moment to soon for me anyway!) Dove is now running the campaign for real beauty, let's be honest you must have been living on the moon if you haven't seen the adverts basically they are using real women of all shapes and sizes for their advertising instead of stick thin models.
PRODUCT STATEMENT
Relax and unwind after a long day. Dove Cream & Oil Beauty Bath combines Dove moisturising cream and a unique blend of essential oils of lavender and jasmine in two phases. Together they moisturise and care for your skin, while a soothing fragrance envelopes you with a sensation of peacefulness and comfort. Pour under warm running water to relive stress and pamper your skin.
PACKAGING
Dove packaging is all very similar, it looks a bit like a tear drop and used to be all in white with navy but now they have added more colours for different ranges. This particular one has a white sort of frosted bottle with the famous Dove logo prominent on the front; the lid is a flick up one rather than a screw lid one and has a lilac stripe on it. When you look at the bottle you can actually see the oil and cream are separated with the oil also being lilac in colour.
USING
So the first thing I always do before using a new bubble bath is have a good sniff of the product, I like my bathroom to smell nice when I am having my bath so always pick ones that I like the smell of. The reason for this is simple having 2 young boys and a other half I like to have some girlie things so this is my feminine stand! This one is quite pleasant it actually reminds me of sun tan lotion and smells quite fruity, when you use this product you need to give it a good shake to mix the oil and the cream (remember to have the lid closed or it could end up all over the bathroom!). For the best results pour it straight into the running water.
When I first used this product I was quite surprised at how thin the mixture was when I poured it into the bath. I am used to nice and thick creamy liquid but this was more like water! It did produce a nice few bubbles though and I lay back and relaxed, the scent was pleasant but to be honest didn't last all that long. When I get time to have a relax in the bath I like to have a good book to read and then usually get out when the bubbles start to go, with this product it wouldn't have been a long bath because the bubbles left me after about 5 minutes!
Also I did expect that having oil in it this product would have left my skin softer but after drying I can't really report any difference than a normal bath product. The plus side was sometimes oils can make my skin feel greasy but this one didn't seem to do that. The scent didn't linger on my skin either I could smell it slightly for a little while but it was quick to disappear.
The other thing to remember is that as this product contains oil it will leave a nice dirty ring around your bath! At first I thought it was the boys and kept moaning about how dirty they were but then realized that it was actually me! Well not me personally but the oil in this product!

WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN?
As you can proberly work out NO! I love Dove products but I have to say I have finally found one I will not purchase again. It just didn't really deliver on its statement, the scent was nice but didn't last and my skin really didn't feel any softer. Also having to scrub the bath every time I used it wasn't good either! Luckily I did get this on offer and the other one I bought was much better but I am sorry I couldn't recommend this one.
