Advantages: Leaves skin feeling soft
Disadvantages: Not sure about the scent
My little obsession with body washes continues and I have now used up all the half bottles in my bathroom! The other half is so pleased as now we have more room in the bathroom for all his rubbish! So now I can go out and try lots of new body washes with the understanding that I use them all up and not let them gather dust, of course the other half never does this and I shall just ignore the piles of must have gadgets that have gathered dust in his office!
So with all the new ones on the market I decided to go for my favourite brand Dove, I have always liked this brand especially its bath & shower range so I thought what better place to start!
COMPANY HISTORY
Dove is a Unilever product and was first launched in America in the 1950's it started with the cleansing bar that was actually developed to treat burn victims during the war. It wasn't released as a beauty bar until 1957 when it was reformulated and renamed the "Original Dove Beauty bar". This soap was aimed at people for dry and sensitive skin, and in 1970 was tested by dermatologists which proved it was milder than 17 of the leading soaps at the time.
Dove came to the UK 12 years ago and became famous for its bath time products and body washes. In 2000 dove started branching out into to deodorants, hair care and body moisturisers, in 2004 came the firming range (and not a moment to soon for me anyway!) Dove is now running the campaign for real beauty, let's be honest you must have been living on the moon if you haven't seen the adverts basically they are using real women of all shapes and sizes for their advertising instead of stick thin models.
PRODUCT STATEMENT
Radiant skin is not something you save for special occasions; you want to give it that glow every day. Dove silk glow body wash is made with a delicate combination of Dove ¼ moisturising cream and luxurious skin silkening conditioners. The silky lather caresses your skin and even better you step out of the shower with skin that feels as smooth and lustrous as silk. Good for your skin, great for your look.
PACKAGING
Dove packaging is all very similar, it looks a bit like a tear drop and used to be all in white with navy but now they have added more colours for different ranges. This particular one has a cream bottle with a beige trim and beige bit on the lid. It has the familiar Dove logo with a sort of beige bubble on the front; the lid is a basic open and squeeze out.
USING
I do find with all Dove body washes that they could do with a hanging hook as I find once my hands are wet the bottles can slip out of my hands, but that could just be me! And this one is no different, when I first opened the bottle I noticed the smell it is quite unusual and I can't quite put my finger on what the scent actually is. It smells a bit fruity and I am sure I can smell orange, I must admit it did take a bit of getting used to but after a couple of uses I quite like it.
The body wash itself is a creamy pearl colour and feels quite silky to touch, all these body washes lather up better if you use a body puff thingy and this one is no exception, I have tried it without and you just don't get the lather and it does feel a bit slimy on the skin. With a body puff this product really does lather well and the lather feels nice and thick and not runny like some do. The scent does smell better once it is on your skin and not overpowering but quite subtle, it rinses off well and my skin does feel nice and soft and not dry at all.
After drying I can say the scent doesn't linger and I can't say I can smell it much after drying, but the most important bit do I glow after using this? Well to be honest I can't remember a time when I did glow so that would be a bit of a miracle but I can say that when I use this after rinsing my skin did look shinier and healthier. After drying my skin is left soft with no dry patches and it leaves me feeling clean and my skin looks healthier.

WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN?
Yes I would but I can honestly say that as much as this product did do its job it isn't one that I would run out to buy again straight away, I found the scent a bit strange and I have tried better on the market that I actually found more memorable. True to my word I did finish the bottle (quicker than normal!) and rushed out to buy the next new one (yes I will get a life!). I would recommend you give this one a try if you feel your skin needs a bit of a healthier look even if it only lasts a little while, it might remind you of summer!
