I love the Dove range of beauty products and I find that Home Bargains is one of the best places to buy this stuff as it is always a lot cheaper than it is anywhere else. One of my recent finds has been their Hydra Lotion which is currently selling for only £1.29 a bottle. I have not actually seen this anywhere else other than Home Bargains so I cannot say how much it is in supermarkets.
This lotion is best suited for “normal” skin. I consider my skin to be fairly normal though it is dry in patches. The best way to use this lotion I have personally found is to use it immediately after having a bath or shower so that the pores on the skin are still open and this means that the lotion is better absorbed into the skin. It has a great fresh natural smell and it is very distinctive in terms of the “Dove Smell”.
I have been using this for a few weeks now and I have noticed a difference on those parts of my skin where I have been mostly concentrating on using it – my shins and ankle area (where is gets quite dry). I have also found it to be an excellent base if you are using self tanning products as it makes the skin ready to accept the self tanner and prevents that nasty streaking you can sometimes get.
The smell lingers for quite a while after I have used it and I Alas use it occasionally on the backs of my hands just as a simple hand cream. It is definitely worth the price and I really do recommend it.
DOVE is the go to brand for deep, intense, moisture and is excellent quality at a great price for the skin especially long term this can hydrate and moisture better than anything else.
However, just sometimes the new products that are released every now and then I do find myself becoming suspicious at what improvements can be made on perfection, or alternatives they can offer.
This is a more lighter and refreshing cream compared to the others, surprisingly so.
With all DOVE products of creams, the consistency is usually thick but this is very light in comparison.
Although light on the skin, this stills smells fabulous and that DOVE scent. It sinks into the skin quite fast almost too fast as the cream is more watery but after it has sunk in it makes your skin feel fresher.
I decided to keep using this over the summer months especially as I found it to be cooling on the skin and you could genuinely feel a freshness on the skin, not the heavy cream sensation that could become sticky.
Why only three hearts then?
When I stopped using this, I didn't miss it at all. It didn't quite make that impression that I needed to have this all the time. Also, there are there are other products that have added benefits in the summer that I'd prefer to use.
Although I highly recommend the DOVE range like many others, this is a product that maybe doesn't add anything to an already sterling range.
The price for this is very reasonable at £2.99 for 100ml.
The Dove brand is known for the beauty products that contain a quarter of moisturizing cream. It's also a brand that does not participate in putting only super slim woman in their commercials but more women who are a better reflection of the society.
This body lotion is moisturizing, and nourishing. It provides a soft and supple skin after bathing or showering and is suitable for normal skin. According to the manufacturer, this body lotion penetrates deep into the skin, leaving it supple and gives you a 24 hours sensation and a slight boost for your skin. The product is animal testing free and dermatological tested.
You get the best result by using the lotion daily after showering or after the bath when the skin is still damp. This pulls the lotion into the skin easier and faster, because the pores are still open..
The body lotion comes in a white plastic bottle. Among the side you can easily hold the bottle, the bottle goes upwards from slightly wider. The bottle is easy to open and close. On the front of the bottle you will find the brand logo, brand and product name. Above the logo is the famous silver Dove dove. Also found on the front is a picture of a drip body lotion. On the back you'll find product and company information, and the ingredients list.
The lotion is creamy and white. The scent I find hard to describe it smells sweet, but you smell something lemon-like. I find it a pleasant smell.
The lotion is not too thick but easily spread able lotion. When applying it feels nice and fresh and the skin immediately after using feels soft and supple. Also it makes the promise that it goes quickly into the skin and it's true. The smell was when applying light floral and not overly present, but it was quickly gone. What no negative point for me, because I choose my own perfume or eau de toilette or in my perfume. For me a good body lotion for people with normal skin.
As part of a Christmas present a couple of years ago I received a big box of Dove products - pretty much heaven in a box for me! I do love my Dove! Even so it has been a while before I started to use the body lotion as I had others to finish off first.
The item in question was a 400ml bottle of Dove Body Fresh Hydro Body Lotion and, after doing a bit of research on the Internet; I found that it currently retails at £3.19.
The container is plastic, tall and quite flat which makes it easy to squeeze! The front has the Dove logo, the name of the body lotion and a note to tell us that it contains '24 hour nutri serum' whatever that is and also spring water and vitamin F.
Reading the information on the back of the container I see that the claims for this body lotion are as follows:
'Dove 24 hour nutri serum body care products, with essential nutrients, go beyond moisturisation. Your skin's look and feel is noticeably improved.'
It is dermatologically tested and will be absorbed quickly.
When I flipped open the lid the smell of the body lotion wafted out; it was light and flowery and just the sort of smell that I like and have come to associate with Dove products.
I turned the container upside down and squeezed so that some of the white body lotion came out into my hand. The first thing that I noticed here was the fact that it was very runny. It was almost like milk in consistency - maybe just slightly thicker.
I rubbed it into my skin and it certainly was absorbed into my skin very quickly leaving no trace of stickiness at all. My skin immediately felt softer and moisturised and of course it smelled lovely. After continued use my skin was definitely in much better condition - it seemed much healthier and softer. Maybe the claims on the back of the container were right then? LOL!
As with all Dove products this one is one quarter moisturising lotion, which is obviously why it makes my skin feel so nice.
Just to make the whole thing even better the plastic container ends up in the recycling bag once it is empty!
In conclusion I would have to say that this is an excellent body lotion and one I shall certainly be buying again.
Well this review has been short and sweet hasn't it? Oh well I have told you everything so there's no sense in my waffling on! LOL!
