I Will Unfortunately Not Be Using This Again (Dove Go Fresh Deodorant)

Shopping for my weekly goods I suddenly remembered that I had run out of deodorant. Rushing to the health and beauty aisle I noticed a promotion on the Dove go fresh product range. This is not my usual brand however as they were selling two cans for £1.50 I decided to give the items a try. I have used Dove products in the past and have always found them to be pretty good so popped them into my trolley well nothing ventured nothing gained as the saying goes.

One of the items I purchased was called cool water lily and freshmint anti-perspirant deodorant a combination which I have to confess I have never used before. The product is packaged in a metallic spray can. The predominant colours being white stating the manufacturers logo, product description and sporting a picture of a blue coloured water lily on the front. In addition there is also a similarly coloured cap which I was glad to say actually fitted the product. I have lost count of the number of these types of container that I have purchased in the past where the lid most annoyingly falls off all the time. The cannister contains 150 ml of the deodorant and in addition does not contain any alcohol. I have to say I was quite intrigued by the manufacturer claims as it states that it offers 24hr protection - definitely. Apparently this is due to the crisp nature-inspired scent of the cool water lily and mint contained within.

Well I work in a hot environment and quite often feel like I have to reapply deodorant several times throughout my shift so I remember thinking to myself that if this product lived up to its claims then I would be able to save myself a fortune in the long-term.

I have to say when I used the deodorant for the first time I was non too impressed with the fragrance of the product. It reminded me a little bit of strong herbal bath soak. I have to say I was a little disappointed as I thought that the product ingredients would provide a very subtle scent combination. Not so unfortunately. On first application I started to sneeze uncontrollably for a good few minutes. Not a good sign as I tend to suffer quite badly from allergies. It is suggested that to apply the product for best results hold at least 15cm away from the body and spray underarm. This is where I encountered my second issue with this product. No sooner had I popped the can back on my dressing room table did I notice a small trail of white powder behind me almost like talc. I realised that this was falling from my underarms. It wasn't even a small manageable amount either in fact I ended up having to go into the shower to wash it off. Does it work as an effective deodorant unfortunately I am unable to tell you as I decided not to perservere and try again. I however will not be buying this product again and will not be recommending its use.
