I cannot decide which of their lotions are my favourite so today I name them all my favorite! All the results from their moisturisers are great, leaving you looking healthy and feeling good.
SHEA BUTTER is a very powerful ingredient for your skin. DOVE has produced it so it is more accessible and powerful in their dermatologically tested creams.
Shea butter can [ apparently] reduce scar tissue, burns, help dry skin conditions and moisturise your skin deeply.
This is a body moisturiser that if used regularly you will see benefits. I did and it only took me two months [although it seems long its worth investing the time] to notice the dry skin on my legs go and I haven't had any issues since.
I went through a period of time after summer that my legs absorbed everything I tried to moisturize with but did nothing to ease the dry skin. This product came recommended. I didn't think of it before simply because I didn't connect it with being dermatologically tested and, therefore, trustworthy.
I have use this since and definitely over winter and just before summer to prepare my skin.
It leaves your skin with a gorgeous fragrance and soft, silky skin.
The best way to use this is to lock in moisture right after a shower. If you go to DOVE.CO.UK. They have blogs and reports from specialist that give great tips and advice for skin and how to get the maximum results out of their products.
I purchased this on a promotion in SUPERDRUG and prices vary online with great deals around. x
The Dove Indulgent Nourishment Body Lotion is available for GBP 3.99.
The body lotion is described as follows. "Nourishing your skin has never felt so good. Dove Indulgent Nourishment Body Lotion combines a rich blend of nourishing cream and shea butter extracts that melts into your skin enveloping all your senses. Turn your daily care routine into a daily treat. Dove Indulgent Nourishment Body Lotion contains the unique DeepCare Complex, with natural skin nutrients and rich essential oil to deeply nourish skin."
This body lotion is absolutely one of my favourite products. Dove are an excellent brand and I always find that their products are good, and this cream is no exception. It smells amazing; personally shea butter is one of my favourite smells for a body butter/lotion because it is so warm and toasty, leaves a gorgeous smell on your skin. I think this lotion is great because it doesn't leave your skin greasy or sticky - just perfectly soft and nourished. At £2.49 it is a brilliant price - much cheaper than you would find it in boots or most supermarkets, and if you're buying other products at the same time it's worth the shipping. I would definitely recommend this product as it leaves your skin feeling great and also smells divine. In line with this product, I would also recommend Dove's gradual tanning moisturiser - leaves your skin feeling great and gives you a natural looking tan at the same time.
I have used a few Dove body lotions over the years and when they are on offer I often find myself picking one up. I was particularly interested in this one as it is marketed as being ultra nourishing. I personally love really thick hydrating creams so this was the initial appeal for me.
The cream comes in a large 400ml bottle which is made from a flexible white plastic. The bottle has a flip tip lid for ease of use and each side contains both branding and product information. The design will not blow you away but it is practical and efficient and really that is all you need.
The cream retails at around £4 for the 400ml bottle which is not too bad a price given the larger size of this product compared to other lotion on the market. In terms of what I usually pay for a body cream this is in and around the same mark so I was happy for pay this much for it.
I don't have especially dry skin but I almost always buy dry skin products because I prefer the consistency of thicker creams. This lotion does have a nice mid to thick consistency to it and has a lovely soft creamy feel which is very pleasant. The colour of the cream is white and it has a very nice smell which is quite subtle, a mix of soft warm fragrances including shea butter.
The cream absorbs relatively quickly into your skin which is a plus point. My skin feel immediately hydrated and softened by the cream and there is no greasiness. The drier areas of my skin do seem to benefit from using this cream and my elbows in particular are noticeably softer than usual.
Overall, I have been pretty impressed by this body lotion. It keeps my skin feeling soft and hydrated, it has a nice smell and a decent price tag too. I like that it comes in this large bottle size and it lasts me for a few months. Of all the Dove lotions I've tried this is definitely one of the better ones.
As I have a dry skin in patches, I like to use a good quality body lotion. Dove body lotions are always a safe option as I feel they represent good value for money and the quality is always good. I love the Dove Indulgent Body Lotion which costs £4.99 for a 400ml sized bottle, though I have recently seen this at about two thirds of this price in Home bargains. I bought this as it contains Shea butter extract, which are known to be good for the skin and have excellent hydrating qualities.
It's suitable for all skin types, event he most sensitive, and it's also been dermatologically tested. The bottle is made of quite a thick and tough plastic, stands upright, has a flip top lid, but the plastic is malleable enough for me to be able to gently squeeze the bottle to help the contents out.
The first time I used this lotion I was impressed by how thick it is. It's rich in consistency and feels really creamy on the skin. It actually feels like a really expensive moisturiser and though the smell is quite strong when it's first applied to the skin, this doesn't last all that long and it soon just completely disappears.
It feels lovely as I gently massage it into my skin and it really is very quickly absorbed and doesn't leave the skin feeling at all sticky or tacky as it dries off very quickly, allowing me to be able to get dressed almost immediately.
I use this gorgeous lotion all over my body (including right up to my neck) and I like to use it as a primer before I use my fake tan as it helps the tanning lotion from streaking or going patchy, especially around my drier areas.
This lotion has definitely improved the tone of my skin since I have been using it. It's also massively improved the hydration levels in my skin and even though I don't use it every single day (as I really like to alternate my body lotions) it has definitely impressed me on so many levels.
I don't consider £4.99 for a 400ml bottle to be too badly priced as I only need to use a small amount to achieve really great results. I love this product, it's a real treat to use and I really do recommend it.
=Dove Indulgent Body Lotion=
This Dive Body Lotion is the "deep care" lotion, which is marketed as being a nourishing lotion, which contains Shea butter extracts, and has been dermatological tested, and is designed for those who have dry skin.
There are additional items within the range, which includes a hand cream, soap bar and body wash.
The bottle is a 400 ml bottle, it is tall and made from white plastic. The top is a flip top lid. There is information regarding the product and the bottle, including that it has a 12 month shelf life from opening.
A general price is £4.99 for a 400ml bottle, although there are offers around. This can be purchased, from Boots, Superdrug and Tesco as just a few examples. There also smaller bottles available, which I'm not sure if they are 200ml or 250ml, as I wanted the bigger bottle.
I will be honest and say that my heart will always like with Body Butters from the Body shop, but unfortunately my heart and my wallet don't always see eye to eye, with the wallet winning. This was one of the occasions that I brought this Dove, as I was going through a dry skin phase and was aware that Shea is a good item to use for dry skin, so this along with Dove.
The body lotion has quite a thick consistency and is white in colour. You only need to squeeze a little out at a time as the cream does go far as well as absorbing easily into the skin, it has a pleasant smell of Shea, although this is not over powering. The lotion feels real cool to the touch.
Once absorbed into the skin, you can feel the softness of the skin but there is no greasiness or a tacky feeling from the cream, just a soft and silky feel on the skin. I noticed on patches where my skin has been drier that the cream seems to sense a dry area and soaks in quickly on those areas.
As mentioned I smelt a Shea smell from the cream, it is not over powering, you can smell it as soon as the cap is flipped open and whilst the cream in being applied, I would say within 15 minutes the smell is no longer apparent.
I was really impressed with this lotion, my skin was soft, the smell was lovely, and I feel that the Shea and the Dove is a good combination of product and brand. I have sometimes used this cream at night time and I wake up with soft skin. Defiantly a brand I would recommend and buy again.
~Dove Indulgent Body Lotion~

It also contains shea butter extracts (check ingredients if you may be allergic) and has been dermatologically tested. It is aimed at those who have dry skin.
Other products in this range include a hand cream, soap bar and body wash.
This body lotion is presented in a tall, white plastic bottle with a flip top lid. The design of the bottle is very simple and includes the important product information. The bottle can be recycled and this lotion has a 12month shelf life from first use.
~Where To Buy~
A 400ml bottle of this body lotion is currently available from Superdrug priced at £4.99. A 50ml size is priced at £1.00. Boots offer a 250ml sized bottle for £3.99 (currently half price). There is also a slightly different version of this which includes a vanilla and shea butter scent priced at £4.99 (currently half price).
I like Dove products so was pleased to spot this body lotion in the clearance area of my local Boots pricemarked at £1.23. I was even more delighted when I got to the till and was only charged 62p for it as the Dove range was on offer at half price - bargain! For my 62p, I got a 400ml bottle which will last me quite some time as I alternate it with other body lotions.
I love lotions that include shea butter as I find shea butter helps nourish my skin really well. I have dry and sensitive skin which needs moisturised up to twice a day so as you can imagine, I spend quite a bit of money on treats for my skin. At full price, this body lotion is a little more expensive than other brands but in my opinion, it is worth the cost.
This body lotion has quite a thick consistency and is pure white in colour. I have learned that I should only dispense a little at a time as this lotion melts into skin and starts to absorb very quickly. Applying too much with the intention of spreading the lotion proves to be quite difficult and results in me needing to apply extra lotion. I find this body lotion to be very pleasant to use. It spreads well if worked with quickly and feels really cool and soothing against my often irritated skin.
As I said, the lotion absorbs very quickly and leaves no tacky feeling on the surface of my skin. I find this body lotion to be very moisturising. It simply melts into the surface of my skin and leaves it feeling very comfortable deep down and silky smooth on the surface. The results last for most of the day too. It works a treat on extra dry areas (knees, elbows etc) as it leaves these areas feeling smooth to the touch. This lotion is gentle and I have experienced no irritation from using it.
Scent wise, I feel that this is either going to be a scent which you will like or dislike. I personally like it. It is noticeable as soon as the cap is flipped open and whilst it is quite strong, it doesn't overpower any perfume which I choose to wear. The scent is very natural smelling - sweet, creamy and with a slight nutty undertone. It smells quite foody to me and is a delicious, scented treat for my skin. The scent is mostly sweet at first but soon settles to be a more subtle, powdery sweetness which sits close to the skin. It really is gorgeous and evident on my skin for a good few hours.
For the price I paid, I am more than happy with this body lotion. It leaves my skin feeling wonderfully moisturised and nourished. It smells gorgeous too. I use this often but have to be in the mood for the sweet, shea scent. I sometimes like to slather it on at bed time as I find the scent to be relaxing and rather comforting when in bed at night! Therefore, I recommend it! If you wish to try this, head to Superdrug and pick up a 50ml bottle to sample.
Thanks for reading :)
