Advantages: Very effective, fewer white marks and will moisturise your underarms.
Disadvantages: You have to wait to let it dry!
We all know that we should take care of our bodies from the inside and the outside, therefore personal hygiene is vital (because there is nothing worse than a smelly body); especially the underarm area! This area is closed most of the time so it can get sweaty easily in hot weather and in tricky situations! We should keep the area as dry as we can, washed continuously and leave it hair free! Using a decent deodorant regularly should be an essential part of anyone's daily routine but it's not so; in fact I have read somewhere that only 91% of men are using deodorants and a big chuck of the 91% don't use them on a regular basis!
It is absolutely flabbergasting news (to tell you the truth) but I'm afraid it's truthful even though I don't like to hear it! There are some men and also women even some who are famous . . . like hot and sexy actress Julia Roberts officially confirmed that she had never used deodorant in her life! Do you believe her?
~*~*~ What is Deodorant? (Only read if you are NOT from the 91% people!).~*~*~
For people who don't know and yes there are some . . . it is anything that takes away an odor, or bad smell. Often, it means something people put on their bodies so their sweat does not smell as bad as it usually does. The most commonly used deodorants are used under the arm pits.
There are many deodorant brands and forms such as sprays, roll on or sticks. I personally like using the roll on for underarms and spray for the whole body.
~*~*~The difference between deodorant and Antiperspirants is ~*~*~
Antiperspirants are applied to the underarms, while deodorants can also be used on arms, feet and the rest of the body areas in the form of body sprays.
~*~*~*Dove . . . Invisible dry (anti white marks)~*~*~*
I've been using Dove's products for many years now; there are a very reliable product that does the job perfectly with good affordable prices. Trying to be more creative Dove have introduced a new range of antiperspirant deodorants, changed the typical shape of the bottle and even introduced new fragrances along with the original fragrance.
The new range contains silk-dry; go fresh cool water lily; go fresh touch; and a lot more! I used most of them but I was most impressed with Dove invisible dry (anti white marks) for many reasons.
Dove's Invisible Dry Deodorant and their motto: fewer white marks, beautiful results!
~*~*The bottle~*~*
The container has changed recently to something more sophisticated, or maybe not depending on how you can see it! Starting from the top of the bottle . . . there is very narrow head getting a bit wider in the middle and ends up with wide round base so it can set in. It's like a mini missile, bullet or maybe a much bigger size of suppositories! The cap is pearly white, you twist anti clockwise to open it and clockwise to close it (you need to hear the clicking sound otherwise it will dry out)
On the front the usual Dove writing and underneath it the famous logo in silver the name of the product (invisible dry) is stated in purple and a couple of mini information.
On the back of the sticker, with the miniature writing about ingredients etc, the weight and the selling code. I peeled the front sticker to reveal another sticker with some warnings and their address, written in many languages including English and Espanyol of course.
~*~*~Opening the bottle to smell it . . . to find . . .~*~*~
The usual roll ball, to roll the deodorant into the skin. I rolled the ball with my fingers to let the stuff out so I could see the texture and the smell before applying it to my skin. I wasn't surprised when I found the smell very close to the original Dove products . . . the typical smell you could find it in Dove creams, shampoos and hand wash! I was a bit disappointed . . . I like the customary accustomed babyish-powdery smell but I wish there was a kick of another exciting scent like the ones they did on the rest of their newer lines.
~*~*~The look and the texture~*~*~
Ok. . . the stuff is pearly white but when rolling the deodorant on my arm it made a shiny translucent layer! I spread it thinly but it took me about 10 minutes to dry, I tried to speed up the process so I rubbed it quickly to get it in and when it (finally!) soaked in, it left a shimmery thin layer of moisturiser! I could feel the moisture; my skin was definitely smoother, shiner and it smelled nice!
As for the texture, it is in a semi liquid status; when I shook the bottle, I could certainly hear the sound of thick liquid! This milky gooey stuff is initially sticky when rolled into skin; it gets thinner and less sticky.
~*~*~The observation is over so it's time for the real test . . . to use it underarms.~*~*~
There are many deodorants that are gluey when used under your arms; sometimes the smell changes into something nasty, or even worse, it might destroy your favourite garments leaving some white powdery marks or it might stain your clothes so that when you lift your arms a disaster will show!
Anyway, I trust Dove in the first place although I have had a few disappointments from them over the years but this product is an "anti white mark" product, claiming fewer white marks so I gave it a go.
I first rolled onto my underarm, it was easy to apply but I noticed with one roll application there was generous amounts coming through so be careful and don't roll on too much!
A white semi liquid substance was on, which looked a bit like soap foam . . . again, I waited for long time until it dried out. I thought it took longer this time, unlike some other Dove products this one seemed to take a longer time to dry! I was really fed up holding my arms up and waving them to get it dry, I realise then you can't put the deodorant and wear your favourite black dress straight away which is a big failure to Dove!
Anyway . . . at long last, when it was finally dried; it left a nicely moisturised area, subtly scented and simply dry!
~*~*~How long will it last?~*~*~
It is stated in the bottle that it can last around 24 hours. To be honest I have never waited 24 hours without having a shower, bathing or washing so I can't say 'yes' or 'no' about it; but as far as I know and according to my experience, it lasted the whole day while working hard and stressfully under our very hot weather. It didn't let me down for sure; my underarms were well moisturised, soft and the scent didn't fade. You'll have the fresh smelling feeling all day just as if you just got out of the shower!
However, the main thing is . . . does it do what it supposed to do?
Is it really an 'anti white marks' product? Is it safe to use it and wear dark or black clothes without worrying about ruining your dress? I can confirm that Dove invisible dry does the job perfectly! Finally . . . white marks free deodorant! However, bear in mind that you HAVE TO WAIT until the product is completely dry, which can take several minutes, so you have to be patient to get the perfect results!
~*~*~Now . . . to summarise~*~*~
~~~The good~~~
* Subtly scented and smells nice; the smell didn't change on contact with the skin and didn't fade for hours.
* Like all dove products it won't dry out your skin because it contains ¼ moisturiser cream leaving the skin moisturised, soft and supple.
* Long-lasting deodorant, guaranteed to last in hot and humid weather for all day long (24 hours according to them)
* Contains no alcohols, which means that it can be used safely on sensitive skin without reacting.
* It's small so it can fit into the smallest handbag!
* Finally the good news! No white marks on your little black dress Guaranteed!
~~~The bad~~~
Thankfully, not much bad points on Dove Invisible dry (anti white marks). . .
* The only main thing I can take against this product is the temporary stickiness and the long time it takes to dry up so you need to apply it before you go out and wait at least 10 minutes!
* Another thing that I would like to point out is not to use and directly wear satin or silk (like lingerie or some dresses) . . . it will stain your clothes and may not come off.
~*~*~*Recommendation~*~*~*~
Like most of Dove product, Dove Invisible dry (anti white marks) is a very reliable product and it will never let you down, it will leave your underarms clean, fresh, smells good, moisturised and above all it's is safe to use when you are about to wear your favourite little black dress! Therefore, no more white marks!
