Advantages: No white armpits

Disadvantages: None

I can't say that I'm particularly loyal to any brand of deodorant, though I do like sprays, and if they're on offer when I'm doing my shopping then I'll give them a fair go.

That's how I came to purchase Dove Invisible Dry anti-perspirant deodorant spray, it was cheap!

~About Dove~

I won't bore you with a long history, but here are a few facts for you:

Dove is part of the Unilever group, and was launched in the UK in the 1990's (although it's been around in the US since the 1950's).

It is now the UK's top cleansing brand with 39% of the population having bought a Dove product in 2007.

10 million women use Dove every week in the UK!

~The Product~

The marketing ploy for this particular Dove product is that it is 'anti-white marks' and 'black dress friendly'. On top of this, Dove Invisible Dry claims to protect you for 24 hours, as well as containing the usual 1/4 moisturising cream that appears in all Dove products.

~Directions~

Humour me, ok? Shake the can, hold approx 15cm from your underarm, and spray!

~Other Information~

As previously mentioned, Dove is part of the Unilever company which produce all kinds of products such as Slim Fast, Vienetta, Domestos, and Persil, to name a few. If you would like further information on the company look at www.unilever.co.uk

You can also look at www.dove.co.uk

Dove Invisible Dry comes in 150ml can, which costs approx £1.90, or if you aren't a fan of spray deodorants you can purchase this as a 50ml roll-on for approx £1.80, or as a 40ml stick for approx £2.00.

~My Opinion~

The style and shape of deodorant cans don't really bother me, they just have to stand upright as far as I'm concerned, (which this one does), it is slim, the design is inoffensive, and the sprayer works properly and won't break your finger when trying to use it.

The fragrance of this deodorant is quite pleasant, it is light and fresh smelling. I thought it was quite strong when I first sprayed it, however this soon dies down leaving a slightly floral fragrance.

I was pleased that I could use this deodorant after shaving without it irritating my skin. Dove claims that it will improve the look and feel of underarm skin thanks to it's moisturing ingredients, and I have to say that it did do this for me.

Also, it claims to protect for 24 hours and I found that it did have good lasting power - perhaps not for 24 hours, but enough to get me through the day in work. I can't comment on how long it lasts through a good exercise work-out, being the lazy woman that I am, but it suits my needs.

The big question is whether it minimises white marks which, let's face it, is it's selling point. I tend to wear black a lot so I'd notice if this deodorant gave me big white patches under my arms - thankfully this hasn't happened yet so I guess it works!

Would I buy this product again - absolutely.

Summary: Deodorant for cat-burglars, or other people who like to wear black
