Advantages: Inexpensive. Mild. Gentle. Feels great. Pure white colour.
Disadvantages: It turns to goo if you leave it in contact with water and disintegrates before its all used up.
Not everyone can use soap on their face, but I suspect Dove would be ok for most people.
This is the only soap I will use on my face. It doesn't dry my skin and feels wonderful. I usually ignore TV adverts but Dove's is actually pretty accurate.
It might be a brand which isn't pricey, but it is what Dove themselves say - gentle and effective.
It is soft, creamy and smooth and leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh though not 'processed'.
Dove say it has moisturiser in it and it certainly feels like it. The lather isn't harsh, but is effective.
The simple shape and white colour give the impression of purity which suits the soaps performance.
If you use a good quality flannel at the same time you will be left with a clean and soothed face. Used once a day when I get ready for bed it is enough to cleanse well and leave my skin cleansed ready for moisturiser.
Remember - always have a supply of frehsly laundered flannels. They are a harbour for germs. Use a clean one every day.
CAUTION - Don't leave it in a puddle of water on the sink or bath - it turns to goo quickly and can't be dried out. I've tried!
Summary: Not the most exciting product - but a vital part of my skin care routine!

- 20/01/06 Hi i am sorry about the rating but have you used it. Just confused that you said i think it would be good. Let me know if you need any help but what i suggest is to have a look at other peoples reviews and get ideas on the kind of things that consumers want to know. x |
