Ok I admit I own loads and loads of fake tan creams, lotions and potions and sprays in the hope one will work and give me a glow without me being an orange! I've paid as much as 50 quid back in the bad old days of St Tropez when it first came out only to wake up following day with my legs stuck together thinking I'd had some kind of stroke and my bedding was ruined! That's a whole other story and a whole other review I think lol As a beauty therapist I'm always on a quest to find decent products to make the best of myself and to recommend to people and if it doesn't break the bank then all the better! I'm really fair skinned, so white that I glow in the dark! I've tried tanning salons in the past but only get burnt so when I saw the dove summer glow body lotion on special offer, I thought I would try and get some colour onto my legs. I used the bottle which is marked for fair to normal skin, the cream has a really pale pink colour and is easy to apply, but difficult to see where it has already been applied. It has a slightly artificial smell, I would prefer an unperfumed lotion so that it wouldnt clash with any fragrance I choose to wear. I used it after the shower every couple of days and after a week or so noticed that my arms had a very slight glow to them. As ... Read the complete review

I am white and pasty. My Dad says that I am so white that I reflect the sun!! Nothing wrong with being white these days, not with skin cancer so rife. I have had 5 moles removed as the surgeon thought they could turn cancerous - there is no way I am sunbathing again!! So, I look to alternative products to give me a sexy glow. Sadly, this isnt one of them! The texture and colour is ok and I was very excited when this came on the market. Its easy to apply but smells like biscuits (not the worse thing to smell of but believe me I was like a walking hobnob), takes ages to dry and the colour came out on my sheets (again, not very attractive!) It took 2 ... Read the complete review

I'm very pale and wanted to get abit of a glow this summer without resorting to sunbeds or spending hours sunbathing. So I picked up Dove summer glow body lotion, which promises to build up a gradual tan over a number of days and mousturise at the same time. It comes in a plastic bottle, in two shades - I chose the one for paler skin. Although the bottle doesn't suggest that you exfoliate before use, I did anyway, and then carefully applied the cream on my legs, stomach and arms. It's hard to tell what bits you've covered, because the cream is light colored, and it takes a long time for the tan color to develop. The instructions suggest you don't get dressed until ... As a pale skinned gal who doesn't tan naturally, it's not nice to stand out from the crowd, especially during the summer months when everyone seems to look like they've spent a week lying on a beach somewhere! I've always used fake tan during the summers since I became conscious of this fact, and am always on the lookout for new products to try, so when the range of moisturisers with added self tan were released a few summers ago of course I decided to try them out! They are designed to be used as an everyday body lotion and build up a gradual tan. Dove's version is called summer glow and there are two versions, one for fair to medium skin tone and ...
