Advantages: Good colour, smells nice at first
Disadvantages: Smelly when it dries, hard to see where you've applied it
In my quest for a safe tan, I've tried many different products and this was one of them.
The product looks and smells like a normal moisturiser, but obviously when it dries it leaves you with a tan. I have pale skin and so used the 'Fair to normal' option. It cost me £4.99 from Sainsburys (Boots and supermarkets everywhere should sell it) and this seems to be the same price for just about everywhere.
It was easy to apply, but took ages to dry and I feared putting my clothes on in case it stained. The MAJOR downside of this product is it has no colour to it when you apply it, and therefore you can miss places on your body. This for me personally, is a nightmare.
Anyway, eventually I decided that I had to put some clothes on! So I did, but I felt very sticky. Some people dont seem to mind this, but I don't like it much. I got someone else to apply the stuff to the backs on my hands before I went to bed (as you can't get this on the palms of your hands as it will go orange). I then went to bed and rolled around feeling sticky and smelling of fake tan! This tan takes several hours to develop and with the sticky situation and smell, I would say always apply before bed.
I woke up the next morning, and despite thinking my PJ's would be coverered in the tan, they were not, which was a pleasant surprise and a bonus (however I had let the tan dry a lot before I'd put my PJ's on, so do be wary).
The tan I got from this product was a nice natural colour.
I did however, have places on my body i'd missed and some parts of my body (feet and hands) had gone slightly orange. Now, I didn't bother to moisturise or exfoliate before using this, so perhaps this is why I went a bit orange in places. I don't think I took it as seriously as if I'd been using a full on fake tan. This is a mistake on my part, and one I am keen others do not make!
The tan on my legs and arms, the parts where it had not gone orange or i'd missed, was lovely. I also used this product on my face, it didnt have much of an effect the first time, but the more you use this product the deeper your tan will become.
All in all, I'd say this product is excellent value for money. Just be careful with your application and you should be fine!
Summary: Good colour, but you never know where the colour will appear when you put it on!!

- 15/05/06 I use this and it does give a nice natural colour. However I do agree that it made parts of my body orange too.It takes such a long time to apply/dry but I feel it's worth it :)

- 15/05/06 A good review and a useful tip about preparation... could do with the addition of price and where from - also the tone you used and your own skin complexion would be helpful. Let me know if you update and I will re-rate @;-) |
