The summer days are beginning and as they are brief it is essential for many to fake a tan in order to make them look slimmer, feel healthier and brave a pair of shorts! I am one of those people, a bit addicted to a nice glow! Winter time I completely covered up so by the time May/June comes and the sun is in the sky my legs are a nice shade of pale blue - oh dear!

Fake tans, I feel, are a bit heavy and can leave you looking a bit like you have had a bad encounter with the tango man they can also leave you smelling a bit like old biscuits, stain your bed covers, stain your clothes - not ideal! So I am always on the lookout for a nice tanning solution and usually end up with an instant one which washes off after a night out...but now, now I have found the miracle cure

The information on the container states that Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion will not only leave your skin as smooth and soft as a babies bum but will also create gradually enhance and even out your natural skin colour leaving you with a nice light tan and a beautiful summer glow.

~~The Verdict~~

Application was extremely easy. I use it after a shower and use only as much as I would use when using a normal moisturiser. Rub in all over your body and wait to dry before putting on clothes. It is absorbed quite quickly, although my legs always seem to take forever to dry. I do not use gloves to apply it (I usually would with any self tan product), after application I wash my hands thoroughly and have never had a problem with orange hands. I still think exfoliation is essential to get optimum results and as with any other fake tan, to avoid build up, I exfoliate every could of days.

The results are great as well. I found that after two days (only applying the lotion once per day) there was a nice glow to my skin and I even got some compliments on how healthy it looked. It did not make my skin look orangey or fake tan like but gave it a nice sun kissed glow which made me feel confident enough to wear a skirt without tights! Even after using the lotion for a week or two there was never a build up of heavy colour at my knees or elbows, a subtle colour was present the whole time. My skin got darker but never to the point that I was worried that I looked like I had gone mad with fake bake!

Finally something which I feel is a very important factor of a fake tan - the smell. The lotion smells like a nice fruity scented body lotion rather than a fake tan and unlike the other leading gradual tanning body lotion brand it does not leave you stinking of fake tan all day. The smell is not recognisable as a fake tan smell which is ideal!
