Advantages: Softly fragranced and very moisturising.

Disadvantages: Expensive and does "shrink" quite rapidly.

In my constant search for Natural bodycare products especially at "reasonable" prices, I have found a lovely bar of Lavender soap.
Its a new Bioactive Skincare range launched in February by Holland and Barrett called "dr.organic"

dr.organic~
~~~~~~~
The ingredients are certified Bioactive and certain ones are organic.
Its a very extensive range including~
Shampoos & Conditioners
Body wash & Soap
Toothpaste & Mouthwash
Lip balms
Face wipes
Deodorant
Body lotions & Body Butters.
They all come in 6 flavours~
Lavender
Pomegranate
Tea tree
Aloe Vera
Vitamin E
Manuka Honey +30 (the "new" ingredient in skin care you may have noticed)
Lavender Soap~
~~~~~~~~~~
Lavender is an ideal ingredient in soap especially as Lavender comes fron the Latin word "Lavare" which means "to wash".
It is very cleansing and is said to disinfect the skin.
It can help remove nervous tension(its great to "sniff" if you have a headache) and the scent is overall deemed very relaxing.
I know many of you associate it with"old ladies" but you should give it a go.

The soap~
~~~~~~
The soap is a 100g bar and is white, flecked with tiny pieces of Lavender and has a very subtle fragrance, it has dr.organic stamped into the top of the soap and the bar fits snuggly into the palm of your hand.
Packaging~
~~~~~~~
It comes in a white box with a small open window so you can see and I suppose touch the soap( not always a good idea, I feel depending on whos "grubby mitts" may have man handled your soap before you).
Lavender flowers are pictured and all the information about bioactive skincare and 100% organic Lavender soap.
It has a nice purple panel stating~
"Choosing our bioactive soap bars, gives you noticeably fresh healthier looking skin. It's the natural choice...DrO"

Its Paraben free
SLS Free
No artificial colours, fragrance or harsh preservatives.

"Fragrant and regenerating organic bioactive Lavender soap cleanses naturally allowing the powerful bioactive(they do like that word) essential oil to restore, rejuvenate and refresh the skin" I quote.

Its recyclable packaging and gives the address~

How did I like the soap?~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Its lovely, definitely one of ths softest soaps I have ever used, very moisturising and left my skin "as soft as a baby's clean bum".
With it having a very delicate fragrance it doesn't load your skin with a heavy scent which I personally like, it smells lovely to use but then doesn't linger on the skin very long.
In use it lathers up very well giving you a good wash with minimum effort(some natural soaps are very difficult to get a good lather from).
I have noticed its "shrinking" rather rapidly, after a weeks use its almost half the size it first was.
All in all I feel very clean and shiny and moisturised, I do suffer very dry skin, so do still need to use my body lotion, but its definitely made my skin the softest I have ever experienced for a soap.
Ingredients~
~~~~~~~~
Sodium palmate, sodium cocoate, aqua, palmitic acid, Lavendula angustifolia oil, glycerin, sodium chloride, Lavendula angustifolia flower, tetrasodium EDTA, tetrasodium etidronate.(can irritate eczema in some sufferers)
Maybe not quite as natural as made out, but I haven't had any adverse reactions and I would have by now, the wording as with alot of these products is the key~

100% Organic Lavender Soap~ lovely an organic soap.
Or is it ?~
100% Organic Lavender~ used in this soap.

I did buy the Manuka Honey Body Wash and take it back because it made my skin very dry, red and itchy, and I found the Manuka Honey Foot and Heel Cream was very disappointing(didnt moisturise at all) too so that went back aswell.
Both the TeaTree and Aloe Vera Mouth Washes I have found very good.
Maybe its just the Manuka Honey range that doesn't agree with me...

Always read between the lines in my experience.

Availability~
~~~~~~~
In store at Holland and Barretts and on line~ www.hollandandandbarrett.com
Price £2.49 a bar, but currently on buy one get one half price (this includes the whole range) they have used this offer a few times already.
Conclusion~
~~~~~~~~
A lovely moisturising, softly fragranced soap (that doesnt remind anyone of little old ladies). Im torn as to wether I will buy it again because its expensive and not as natural as I usually buy.
When its on offer I will possibly buy it again but I wouldn't buy it at full price.
The fact it "shrinks" rather rapidly aswell means I am going to award it 3 stars, shame as its sooo lovely, but we do have to consider all aspects.

Thanks for reading my review.

Summary: Lovely light Lavender scent and soft moisturising lather.

Shall look out for these as soon as I have caught up on all the soap bars I have in stock- no wonder my friend accuses me of having more stock than BOOTS.
