Advantages: Softens, Moisturises, Perfumes
Disadvantages: Greasy
After my first day visiting Edinburgh last year - a city guaranteed to lacerate even the hardiest feet - I was desperately in need of a remedy for my aching, blistering, cracking and smelling feet. So I nipped into Boots and headed for the Scholl counter, figuring that if Dr. S couldn't sort me out, no one could. I bought Scholl Deep Moisturiser, went straight back to my B&B (another arduous walk uphill), soaked my by now throbbing extremities and applied this cream. It is marvellous stuff. It's very thick and smells sort of medicinal but perfumey at the same time. Texture wise it's rather greasy, so it takes some elbow grease to really work it in and get it to disappear into the skin. This isn't as bad as it sounds, though, because it means you're giving those tired old dogs a reviving massage at the same time. If you leave your feet uncovered for 5 minutes after you've done this, the slight film left on the skin does then disappear. And your feet are left soft to the touch, feeling supple, healthy and fresh. Even the hard skin that had developed on my heels felt much more pliable. You really notice the difference, though, when you hit the pavements again. Your feet can take much more of a battering before they start to hurt and feel dry and sore. Another tip is to slather it on like nobody's business before you go to bed and then sleep in socks. Next morning you've got plates like a princess! (Though you might also have athlete's foot as you've created a very moist and warm environment down there) Also, rubbing it into the nail areas ensures that your toenails will be nice and soft too, making them much easier to cut (they just sort of limp off nicely instead of flirting across the room like bullets). Discovering this cream really did make a difference to my holiday and I have kept using it a couple of times a week now I'm back to normal sede
ntary life. It costs around 3 quid and you don't need a lot to do the job efficiently. Oh yes, and if you follow it with Scholl 24 hour foot deodorant your feet will not only be soft, supple and gorgeous to look at, but completely stink free! I'd highly recommend this cream, especially if you take the time to apply it properly and give yourself a nice foot massage into the bargain. Better still, get someone else to do it for you and go off into a blessed out trance of total relaxation while they're doing it.
