Advantages: Gives you new confidence
Disadvantages: Stings and itches like mad the first couple of times
For about 13 years I have put up with excessive sweating and being quite young, I never really knew what to do about it. Since I was about 7 years old I have been sweating uncontrollably. It has caused much embarrassment, bullying and even depression.
So one day, a few months ago I plucked up the courage to do a Google search of my condition and see what was on offer to cure it. I pondered botox injections to my armpits or even surgery to remove the sweat glands. Instead of being extreme, I visited my doctor and asked him if there was anything he could prescribe me or suggest that would help. He didn't take me seriously in the slightest and told my to 'simply use anti-perspirant deodorant'. Like I hadn't already been doing that!
Anyway, I went home and did another Google search. I found various brands of roll on substances to block the sweat glands. I chose one at random, went to Boots and for £6.99 I bought Driclor. I was very eager to use it so I made a point of staying home that night and have an early night so I could apply it.
After a shower, I applied plenty of it to my armpit and 2 minutes later I was in extreme discomfort. My armpits were insanely itchy, it was like someone had put itching powder on them! Eventually I overcame the itchyness and fell asleep. When I woke up, I had a shower straight away to wash it off as recommended. I noticed the effects instantly and after my shower I used my usual anti-perpirant and went for lunch with my friend.
The whole lunch I was nipping to the loo to see if I was still dry and to my delight I was! Unfortunately my armpits suffered and they were red as if they had been burned and the skin was very dry and sore. However, after a few days and some vigorous application of E45 cream, I was left soft and moisturised. My underarms now feel naturally dry and it's a lovely feeling. I only have to use Driclor once a week or less. It's completely unessecary to apply loads of it, just a swift roll up and down is plenty.
Driclor has definitely worked wonders for me. I am very confident again (excessive sweating made it hard for me to do anything at all and I haven't had a job because I didn't want to face people) and I now have reason to buy a new wardrobe as my old clothes were ruined from the sweat.
I hope readers with similar problems will take the liberty of using Driclor because when it works, it can make you so much happier.
Summary: Driclor is an extremely effective product for people suffering from Hyperhydrosis. Recommended.

- 26/06/06 Glad you've found a solution and you're more confident. Nobody should have to put up with bullying and depression - unfortunately so many find it fun to pick on those with problems. And your doctor certainly shouldn't have treated you like that. Melony |
