Advantages: moisturises, cleanses, leaves skin radiant, abolishes dry skin and itchyness

Disadvantages: quite expensive (but totally worth it !

I have always suffered from various allergies and as a result I almost constantly have itchy skin. I occasionally get small patches of eczema and my skin is always dry and uncomfortable. I have tried moisturisers but most just aggravate my skin and block my pores. Those that are successful take so long to apply head to toe that I never get round to it. After a recommendation I had started using E45 cream for areas of my skin that were particularly dry and itchy, I had been very impressed by this and was immediately on the lookout for any other E45 products.

In Tesco I discovered E45 Emollient bath oil. It was quite pricey at £7.99 for a 500ml bottle or £4.50 for a 250ml bottle. The bottle itself is plain, white with a screw top cap and looks like it belongs in a medical cabinet! I decided to go full hog and buy the biggest bottle. The bottle states that it is for dry skin as well as more serious dry skin conditions such a Eczema, Dermatitis, Psoriasis and ichthyosis. It is perfume free, soap free, detergent free and suitable for the most sensitive of skin.
I was keen to try the Bubble bath as soon as I got home and added a capful to my running bath water as instructed. The water went a slightly milky colour and some bubbles started to form. It did not create a lot of bubbles but enough of a foam to make you feel like you are using a bubble bath! It is not scented so did not smell of anything. I got into the bath and the water seemed to feel a bit "silky" on my skin but this was not unpleasant. I soaked myself in the bath for a good half hour and felt very refreshed. The bubble bath states that you do not need to use any other soap in your bath as it is likely to reduce/counteract the effects of the E45. If you want to use it in the shower or to wash with like a soap you can apply some to a wet sponge and massage it into your skin.

When I got out the bath I did notice that my skin was soft, smooth and comfortable. I am allergic to most bubble baths so it was a really pleasant feeling for my skin to be so itch free after a bath! Since that occasion I now use the bubble bath at least twice a week on its own and have found that I can combine it with my lavender bubble bath (one of the few that im not allergic to) for the rest of the time if I want a smelly extra bubbly bath.
My skin is radient and in so much better condition than it has been for years. It had given a better effect than if I was to have covered myself in moisturisor cream daily. My skin used to constantly itch, feel dry and uncomfortable but that is never a problem anymore. It even seems to have cleared up my itchy scalp and dandruff!! As I have been so impressed with it I do tend to use it in my bath daily although if I forget then it keeps my skin moisturised for a good few days so could be used just once a week and still have the positive effects. It also means that I don't have to spend any time putting moisturiser on my skin which saves time and effort! I absolutely love my E45 Emollient Bath Oil and will continue to use it for as long as I have baths!
I stuck a sticker on the side of my bottle warning the other inhabitants of my house not to use it, seeing as it is quite expensive I don't really want the smelly boys wasting it when the don't need it. Sure enough, it has since emerged that both my brother and my dad have been sneaking some into their baths. My brother thinks its great so I now have to hide it! My dad said he did not like it because it made the water feel weird. Other than feeling a bit silky it doesn't so I think either he put too much in or is just being dramatic.

It isn't cheap and it doesn't come in a fancy bottle but it is brilliant. It makes my skin look and feel fantastic and I cannot praise it highly enough. I have not had a single spot of eczema since using the E45 Bath Emollient and no longer have to worry about itchy or dry skin. Whilst it isnt cheap, you only use a capfuI per bath and so it will last a long time. I fully recommend that you try this, your skin will thank you!

Summary: Brilliant for dry skin
