Despite having eczema, E45 is not a brand I am particularly fond of. When I first developed eczema at the age of around 19 or 20, I tried various shop-bought products to try to shift it, including E45 and found that it made no difference at all. The only thing that seems to work on my eczema is a steroid cream prescribed by the doctor, so I never really go in for any of these emollient products or off the shelf creams. The reason I started using the E45 wash cream, was because I actually won a set of four E45 products in a competition a couple of months ago. I had suffered with both dry skin and eczema for about 10yrs and over the years it was gradually getting worse. I went to my doctor who recommended several different creams I could use. This went on for several years and no recommended cream made a difference. Also anything I washed with that contained soap was just drying my skin out even more. Well I booked another appointment to see my doctor but he was on holiday so I saw a new doctor there. She had a completely different approach on the matter and said – right I am not going to give you any creams of any sort. You are to stop washing with any soap products and to just use E45. E45 is a name we all know and has gained a very reputable name in skin care so when i recentely developed a pain in the ass itchy rash on my arm i decided to invest in some of this emollient wash cream. Although I personally thought it was a bit expensive at £4.49, nothing comes closer to heaven then the feeling of stopping that itchiness just for one second so off i went to the counter in Boots and made my first purchase from this range. The first thing i did was read the instructions. If something was so powerful then I wanted to know what was in it. Apart from a load of chemicals i never used at school and aluminium (?!)
