E45 Nourish & Restore Body Lotion
Advantages: Moisturises, soaks in well, good price
Disadvantages: Not for me
As a Bzzagent, I was lucky enough to be selected for an E45 campaign. Although I had never used E45 products before, I was familiar with the brand name, as something my older relatives used, to keep their skin moisturised and understood that the brand was synonymous with sensitive skin. Founded in the 1950s especially for people with dry, sensitive skin, the cream became widely available for general purchase in the 1980s. E45 now produce four types of daily moisturiser for use by all. Nourish & Restore is the version that I was fortunate to receive for free.
This new version of E45 Body Lotion is "enriched for mature skin" with vitamin B3, in order to restore skin's suppleness in just three weeks. I may be on the wrong side of 40 (just) but I don't consider my skin mature, and it is fairly supple and in good condition as I like to moisturise (semi-) regularly. However, the interminably long winter we have had, has made my skin drier than normal. This lightly fragranced moisturiser is hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin. The main thing I look for in a moisturiser is that it moisturises (yes, really) and is easy to apply and blend in.
My 250 ml bottle is in the classic lotion bottle style with a flip up lid and a small hole to get the lotion through. The lotion fragrance is mildly floral but I cannot be more specific than that. It is not a distinct floral scent such as rose, and is light and not over-powering or sickly. I don't think it overly feminine that a man would avoid it, but I am not a man, so what would I know?! A gentle squeeze of the bottle means a modest amount of lotion ends up in the palm of my hand. I do hate it when too much lotion comes out and you run out of available skin. The amount that comes out is good for one lower leg. As it is so smooth and light it spreads across my skin really easily, soaks in in no time and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. I'm genuinely impressed. Even if I'm in a rush, it makes the moisturising experience efficient as it goes on so easily, and doesn't leave my skin greasy or tacky so I can get dressed virtually straight away.
The lotion claims to make my skin more supple in three weeks. I have been using it for three weeks now, and although a lack of suppleness is not something that I suffer with, problem areas like dry feet and elbows have been improved. It goes without saying that I have had no reaction or irritation caused by the lotion, as it is so gentle, whilst also being effective.
The cheapest I have seen it is £3.55 on Amazon, but I am sure you can get it on promotion or offer on the High Street. It goes without saying that I love this product and think it well worth a try. You can get a free sample from the website: www.e45.com.
