Advantages: Fast, Not streaky
Disadvantages: None
The first few rays of spring sunshine and we decide to bare our arms and legs and get a tan. But what do we find pasty, white, blue veined rough skin. Time to give your body a self tan treatment. I first tried this tan last year persuaded by the QVC presenters that this was the easiest method available. Was it, not at first, I do recommend that you practice a little first while you can still cover up with long trousers. I think the main problem I had was judging the twelve inches (30 cms) to hold the bottle from the body. My first attempt I did spray a bit too much and had a couple of runs on the ankles. After that I got the hang of it and I am pleased with the results. I only use the spray on my body, it can be used on the face, but I don't like spraying my face and I think creams last longer on the facial area. Like all fake tans you follow the basic rules exfoliate first and put moisturiser on any rough dry areas like elbows and knees. With this one you spray it on, let it dry which only takes a couple of minutes then massage in a moisturiser or body lotion. The knack seems to be keeping the bottle at least 30 cms from you and not overspraying so that your skin is dripping wet. You just want your skin to feel slightly damp. The advantage with this product and method is that you can cover larger areas quickly and get dressed more or less straight away. A couple of hints went using it are.. Be careful not to spray it directly onto your furnishing fabrics, stand on a towel or in the bath(not filled of course). Don't spray directly onto your knees, elbows or feet just massage over them when you moisturise. Using this product and folowing these rules I can confidently bare my arms and legs when the sun first peeks through. This is not a very intensive tan it gives you a light golden colour with one coat. If you want a darker finish apply daily for 3 or
4 days to build up the intensity. I find the gently fades over a few days, so I top it up about twice a week. One word of warning it does not give you sun protection so do use a protective lotion when you are out in the sun. I bought a duo pack of this from QVC 2X200ml bottles last year and I still have some left in the first bottle. So it does seem to last a long time. The cost of the pack was £24.00 which seems steep at first, but if it lasts me two years I think that's a reasonable investment. I haven't seen it in the shops, but as I say you can get it from QVC either on Sky TV,or cable and the web qvcuk.com.

- 01/06/01 Must try it and see if it can improve upon my "Night of the Living Dead" eerily white skin.
Very useful review. |

- 14/05/01 I have recently purchased Ecotan from QVC and, although I don't use it on my face, it gives me a healthy glow all over my body despite usually having deathly white skin. It is also very good value if you buy it from QVC as the bottle lasts quite a while. |
