Advantages: easy to use & gives great results
Disadvantages: expensive
I read a few good reports about this Elemis Devil's Mint Body Scrub in magazines but, to be honest, the £21.50 for 150mls was well out of my price range. I was delighted however, to find a small tube enclosed with some beauty products I bought last year (a 'one time only' offer) from QVC.
The larger size seems to be in white tubes whereas the small one I got (20ml) is a lovely dark blue with the famous silver Elemis logo etc making it a very handy & attractive tube.
Elemis seem to sell most of their range through beauty salons but they stock it at our local John Lewis & QVC have many of their products on their website although it appears you may have to buy this as part of a set. If you like their products it's worth having a look on Ebay as there are often great offers to be had.
The tube has a silver screw on/ off cap & the hole which is revealed is just the right size for squeezing out the small amount that you require. The smell is lovely - not overpowerfully minty, just very fresh & the smell lasts for some time after you've rinsed off the body which is good.
The creamy white scrub looks more like a body lotion than an exfoliator as the particles are small (compared to many) & are the texture of fine sand. I didn't think therefore that it would be very effective but it certainly does a good job.
It's advised that you just squeeze a small amount onto the fingertips & gently rub in a circular movement into the skin paying particular attention the the elbows, heels & knees, then just rinse. I was really surprised at how little of the product you actually do need & this small tube lasted me about 8 weeks even though I used it twice a week.
My skin felt much smoother & softer as it did (as claimed) remove dead skin cells yet my skin also felt nourished & smelled really fresh.
The ingredients are somewhat surprising & include silicon-rich sea plant particles, Sweet Betty flower, Devil's Apron seaweed & peppermint essential oil - no wonder it's got a hefty pricetag lol.
I would love to have some more of this but, in the meantime, will continue to buy my (much cheaper, but almost as effective) bodyscrub & pop this on my Christmas Wishlist!
