One of my pleasures in life is a long soak in my bath, with a glass of wine and a few candles-bliss! I also like to have something deliciously scented and luxurious to ad to the bath. I am lucky enough to have been given a range of Elemis aromatherapy products including the gorgeous skin nourishing milk bath.
Elemi makes a whole range of skin care products all using natural ingredients using plant oils. I have a fairly dry and sensitive skin so I really liked the sound of the nourishing milk bath that is made specifically with dry skin in mind. I have used several Elemis products now and have never had any problems with irritation.
Elemis nourishing milk bath comes in a clear plastic bottle with a rather classy silver screw top lid. On reading the back of the bottle I see that the milk bath contains natural plant collagen made from oat extract and Japanese camellia oil to help keep skin supple. The milk bath has a milk protein base that is rich in nourishing vitamins, amino acids and minerals. This all sounds very impressive, but the proof of the pudding as they say, is in the eating, or in this case the bathing!
The instructions tell you to pour 5 capfuls of the milk bath into hot running water. I was surprised at how runny this milk bath is and had been expecting something much thicker. The scent is divine however and scores full marks from me! I always find it hard to describe a scent, but this smells very fresh and clean if that makes sense!
This is not a product for those who like lots of bubbles in their bath. It leaves the water a milky white as you might expect. Bathing in this milk bath really is like heaven and I can understand why Cleopatra did the same!I have been really impressed with how lovely and soft my skin feels after using this milk bath. The instructions recommend you use it for 12 days to get the full benefit and if you have really dry skin you can massage it directly into your skin.
Elemis products are not cheap and this one is no exception. A 400 ml bottle will set you back around £38! Elemi is available online from various sites or from John Lewis and beauty salons. I love this milk bath but unless I am given a bottle this Christmas I don't think I will be replacing my bottle once it is finished, as it really is out of my budget!
