When it comes to body powders/talcum powders I make no bones about the fact I'm not keen on them. It's simply not something I would buy myself. I don't like mess and fuss and if I use a body lotion, cream whatever then it needs to be fast drying and none greasy cos I'm usually in a hurry and I'm the kind of person that's always late for everything so I don't need more hold ups in my life thank you lol
Talc and the likes are just so messy and for obvious reasons and I can't be bothered with it and in the past when I've used talc and the likes I've used them in bed (alone) but in honesty I've never seen any skin benefits when I've used them. All it ever seems to do to me is make me look white, transfers everywhere and blocks up my skins pores and stopping it breathing! Nope it isn't for me...
Until my Mum gave me this little tube of 'Body Powder'.Oh I'll have anything free me, I'm not proud and I already own the fragrance, body lotion and shower gel from within the Red Door range anyway so it made sense to snatch it from her and give it a go. I was actually rather hopeful and excited about the results to be honest lol
Now my powder as I just said comes in a red cylinder 28g cardboard tube type of thing. There is a round integrated lid that you twist to open and close and it reveals 4 small holes and all you do to dispense the product is open it up and shake it out and it does this ever so gently. On the front all in gold writing I'm told it is Elizabeth Arden, Red Door, then there is a picture (also in gold) of doors, under that I'm told it is Perfumed Body Powder (Poudre Parfumee) and finally the size is stated. On the back of the product (also in gold, are you getting the theme yet? lol) I'm given contact details for Elizabeth Arden. The tube is very simple and elegant looking. Now my product is the small size but it can also be purchased in a large flat round tube which is 2.6 oz in size and although it is plastic looks very similar. You can find this online to purchase in stores and I have seen it stocked in T.J Hughes and is about £14.00. Mine (small size) cost £5.99 in Boots a while ago.
Well it is a very fine white powder. You shake some on and rub it in. Smell wise it's a heady mix of red rose, violet, jasmine, lily of the valley, and orchid and is accompanied by a touch of honey. If you are familiar with the Red Door fragrance in general this is simply very much the same only a little less harsh and a tad sweeter to my nostrils. If you like the fragrance though you'll like this and it's very well blended and quite strong. I can really smell the red roses and orchids in this!
So applying it can be a bit messy as it is white and er is a powder after all lol. I suggest for best results a small sprinkling on the skin is enough and build up and take your time. Apply it where you want to, really dusting it in softly but really well with your hands (and don't forget to wash them after lol).
Surprisingly if you do it the way I suggested then yes it goes invisible and leaves very smooth and soft skin in a natural way. Would I feel confident enough to use this and then put on a little black dress? No. Although I'm pretty sure using my method I have blended it well into my skin I just wouldn't be 100 per cent sure about it, though it's fine with lighter clothes of course.
Does really scent the skin beautifully and me, well I like to wear this in bed for touchably soft, scented skin ahem lol No transference providing YOU make sure there is none, the smell lingers for hours on the skin along with the smoothness you have achieved. It really is a surprisingly good product and not heavy like talc and of course you get the lovely fragrance from it. A must for any Red Door fan in my opinion and suitable for any woman of any age to use providing she of course, once again likes the smell of it!
For a soft smooth feeling /
