I'm a great lover of gorgeous fragrances, particularly those where you can purchase the matching body lotions and shower gels. The product I am reviewing today is Beautiful Perfumed Body Lotion by Estee Lauder.
The words I would use to describe this fragrance are romantic, sheer luxury and sensual. A couple of months ago, I reviewed the actual fragrance and recently made a product suggestion to Dooyoo to enable me to advise you of this gorgeous matching body lotion, which is simply perfect used alone or teamed up with the eau de parfum.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this brand, the company was founded by Estee Lauder who was born Josephine Esther Mentzer and the name Estee was the nickname of her family. The company was founded in 1946 and some 64 years later is one of the world's best selling brands of beauty and skin products created for both men and women.
The photograph shown by Dooyoo is an opaque glass bottle with a pump dispenser and I have purchased a few of these in the past. However, I found it extremely difficult to use, particularly as the pump would not reach the entire contents within the bottle.
As this lotion resembles the consistency of a cream, I found the rather small opening contained within the pump would only dispense very small amounts, which were not nearly enough for one application. Consequently, I would find myself having to press the pump at least a dozen times in order to moisturise the whole of my body.
The body lotions I own are contained within tubes, which I received in gift sets at Christmas. However, I can confirm that the contents are identical to that contained within the glass bottle.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Beautiful fragrance, it is exactly as the name suggests - beautiful. Estee Lauder describe it as "a bouquet of a thousand flowers with its' tender bouquet of lilies and roses, marigold and orange blossoms, warmed with a rich woody base and brightened with a touch of citrus".
The notes contained within the fragrance are the gorgeous top notes of rose, mandarin, lily, tuberose and marigold followed by the heart notes of orange flower, muguet, jasmine and ylang ylang. The base notes are sandalwood, vetiver and amber.
This fragrance always brings back special memories for me, as for my wedding day to my second husband I treated myself to a number of products from the range, namely the fragrance, body lotion and shower gel.
The lotion is a light pink in colour and of a fairly thick cream consistency and easily absorbs into the skin without leaving any greasiness or stickiness. Due to its' high price tag, I don't tend to use it for general wear and prefer to keep it for special occasions. It smells identical to that of the eau de parfum and I frequently wear it alone, as I don't always feel the need to also use the matching fragrance. The rich intense scent will remain with you for your entire evening and is simply luxurious.
As this lotion is perfumed, I have never applied it to my hands, particularly as I generally suffer with cracked skin, so after application to my body I immediately wash my hands. However, I can state that I have never suffered any adverse reactions.
The body lotion as shown in the photograph will cost you £30 for a 250ml bottle and in my opinion, is worth every penny. However, at Christmas time stores such as Debenhams, John Lewis, Howells and Boots will sell gift sets of a 30ml bottle of fragrance, together with a 75ml tube of body lotion for £30.
This is an absolute bargain, particularly as the fragrance alone will cost you £30, so you are receiving the lotion absolutely free. I have also found that after Christmas, many of the stores will reduce the price of their unsold gift sets, so you can save yourself even more money. It is at this time of year, that I generally stock up on my Beautiful products and provided I store them in a dark and cool place and away from direct sunlight, they will last me for many months.
Unfortunately, Estee Lauder does not sell the body lotion in a tube as an individual purchase and is only available to purchase in the glass bottle, as per the above photograph. I find this rather strange, particularly as you will receive the tube in a gift set.
I cannot recommend this product highly enough, particularly as I feel it is suited to women of all ages and it is such a romantic and luxurious fragrance.
If I were to rate the body lotion alone, it would receive 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars. If I were to rate the body lotion contained within the tube, it would also receive 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars. However, due to the product being contained within an extremely awkward glass bottle, where a good amount is wasted, it loses one star, so 4 out of 5 dooyoo stars from me.
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
