Advantages: cleaning properties
Disadvantages: strong taste, cost
~ Euthymol Toothpaste ~ From the very first time you see the packaging , you know that there is something different about this toothpaste . The package aesthetics are olde worlde , perhaps Victorian in appearance . A basic white box with simple dark green scrolling design with the brand name in bright red . Then you notice the words " A scientific dental preparation" .Because of its simplicity you are immediately drawn to it . Inside the box you find the toothpaste which is contained within a metal tube - the only plastic you find here is the screw cap , all in outer box matching graphics. Euthymol has been made for many a year , and its ownership is under the Pfizer group ( who make Listerine and Viagra amongst other things ) . It is however quite difficult to get hold of . Known UK outlets are Boots and Wilkinsons . Euthymol comes in one size , namely 75ml. and you should expect to pay approximately £1.69 per tube . Admittedly this is a little on the expensive side for a toothpaste , but there is an old addage that says you get what you pay for . ~ A scientific preparation ? ~ As I said this is an old , unchanged product and the paste is made of various ingredients in particular essential flavour oils and anticeptic agents . Looking at the ingredient list you immediately notice that Aqua ( water ) is not the major ingredient , furthermore flouride is not an ingredient . ~ Appearance etc. ~ Bright pink in colour with a strong anticeptic smell , akin to TCP , you just know its definitely not your normal run of the mill toothpaste . In use you can taste the anticeptic ingredients and your mouth tingles . The taste is quite strong , but not too unpleasant , kids however will loathe it . It does however work extremely well , and after use you mouth feels refreshed and your teeth very clean . I suffer from gum disease and this toothpaste actually helps with this , and after using it for two years my
dentist has commented on how good my teeth and gums now are . ~ But no flouride ~ While most toothpastes contain flouride , it is not an absolute necessity , as most water companies add flouride during the purification process , so potential users should not be too alarmed at its omission from this product . However should you want confirmation , ask your dentist for advise when you next visit . ~ Overview ~ Definitely not like any other toothpaste on the market , with a taste that has to be acquired . Expensive yes , but the quality is evident , and the cleaning properties are second to none. Once used you will appreciate it , but just maybe you wont be able to live with its taste. Worth a try though . Manufacturer : Pfizer Consumer Healthcare , Eastleigh , Hampshire. SO53 3ZQ : www.pfizer.co.uk
