Nice moisturiser but doesn't deliver what it promises on the anti aging front

I am on a mission to find a cream that improves my neck area.

Excellence de L'Age concentrate is one in a long line of neck products I have tried and is the latest I have put to the test.

Decleor is a premium brand that I really like and I use quite a lot of their products. They are full of natural ingredients and generally I have found that they perform well and live up to their promises.

The Excellence De L'age range is targeted at mature skin so unless you have lived life to the full and baked yourself in the sun I would say this is for someone 40+, who wants to improve the appearance of their neck and decolletage( the bit between your collarbone and breasts)

This particular cream targets the neck area and claims to reduce lines and wrinkles, plump up the skin, firm , even out and hydrate. Well that is my version of what it claims to do.

      The Product
Comes in a frosty glass/thick plastic ( can't tell which) and is a pump action. The product comes out easily and is a pinky apriocot flesh colour. I bought this from QVC and it came with a small pot of the moisturiser in the same range, so I think the outer packaging will differ, but Decleor products normally come boxed with an instruction leaflet or booklet if in a set .

This is a concentrate so you don't need too much and Decleor recommend warming in the hands first. If you do that make sure you have well moisturised hands , so you don't waste the product on your palms.

They suggest applying the product and then massaging it into your neck , neckline and shoulders, using the palm of your hands in upward gentle sweeping movements.
I sort of do that but must admit I concentrate more on the bits you can see so apply mostly to my neck and across my chest on the parts not covered by whatever I am wearing at the time.

This has a light non greasy texture, like a creamy serum which glides on really well. When I first started using it I thought this would only last a couple of weeks as I tended to pump out too much product at first, but soon discovered that a little will go far.

My skin looked better and felt really soft and this smells really nice, a nice natural plant smell rather than very perfumed.

It does contain a range of natural essential oils , Iris , frankincense , Immortelle and Chamomile. Iris is one of the ingredients Decleor use in their anti aging range . It also contains active plant ingredienst plus a magic 'lipofilling technology' which they believe when combined with the other ingredients creates synergy ( 2+2 = 5 effect) or a more powerful effect than each ingredient used alone.

This comes in a 50ml bottle and is a hefty £58 ouch! If you pay full price! I bought mine from QVC but it is available from other online retailors and House of Fraser

      What do I think?
I am not that impressed to be honest. Yes it is nice and leaves skin looking hydrated with a nice sheen, but I can get that effect from a much cheaper product.

I am quite perplexed about the difference in skin texture on my neck , it isn't the same as my face or chest and I find it quite difficult to buy something really effective that doesn't roll off my neck and leave what I call bits of fluff, which is not a great look.
I have very dry skin on my face and body, but not my neck, so I do think I need to use something different to lift firm and hydrate, but I only got the hydration with this cream.
The only benefit of this cream is that it doesn't roll off and leave product fluff behind , but as to firming reducing wrinkles and plumping I did not notice much difference , if any and I was really disappointed.

When I buy from QVC I do so because I know that if I don't like a product , I can send it back even if I have used it and I will get a full refund( 30 days) . This is a major benefit when you invest in an expensive item.

I would not recommend this really based on my experience, it did not deliver in terms of firming and plumping , so my search goes on for an effective neck cream. It is a nice moisturiser but does not represent value for money. This is a 5 star price but only 3 stars from me based on my experience.
