Extracts Cocoa Butter Sugar Scrub
Advantages: smells nice
Disadvantages: very greasy and oily, doesnt scrub the skin, hard to wash off
I got this as part of a box set recently from Boots which included this sugar scrub, the body butter and the body was for £10 which I thought was a bargain, unfortunately the body butter is the only one worth having!
The first time I used this sugar scrub I wasnt too sure about it, now a few weeks later I definitely do not like it at all, so much that I have given it away to a friend to see if they can use it as I think it is just awful!
The scrub itself comes in a nice looking flat rounf purple tub with a screw off lid. I find this quite annoying when in the shower as I tend to get a lot of water in the tub that runs off my arms and hands when trying to scoop some out. The scrub itself is a strange consistancy, its quite solid and feels a bit like butter with gritty bits it in. The first time I used it I thought I had used too much and not rinsed it off well enough as my skin felt greasy and oily even after I had got out the shower and dried myself, after using it a few times though I have realised this is just the product. As I said it is quite solid and firm in texture, so much so that it stays this was and seems to mould to your hands when trying to rub it into your skin, no matter how little I use. It does really seem to 'scrub' my skin either, there are little sugary particles in it to do the scrubbing, but the stuff they are in is so thick that they dont seem to have any effect on my skin. It is also very hard to rinse or was off, and no matter how little I used I always end up with an oily residue on my skin, I find that if I run my nail over a part of my skin that I have used the scrub on, there will be a build up of creamy coloured greasy stuff under my nail. This scrub does smell really nice when using it, but the smell doesnt stay on the skin after use either. My final criticism of this is that it also leaves an oily/greasy residue in the shower or bath after use to, its particularly bad if you use it whilst in the bath as the bath needs a good clean afterwards.
Overall I wouldnt recommend this product at all, it doesnt scrub and its very oily and greasy - its not something I will ever want to buy or use again!
Summary: greasy and oily
