It looked as if i was wearing mascara and I was excited at the idea of not having to wear any. It was fine all day yesterday and I was still very pleased. But this afternoon the area around my eyelashes has become VERY itchy and sore. The beautician didn't conduct a sensitivity test - the first thing I've heard about them is from looking on dooyoo. But even if she ha...more

Premium Review Eyelash Tinting: eye lash tinting! (179 words)

I had my eyelashes tinted because I was going on a 5 day hike and I didn't want to have to carry mascara along everywhere with me! But i also wanted to look normal...I am naturally blonde so my eyelashes just look WEIRD without lashings of mascara! I went to my local beautician and she did a patch test on the nape of my neck. I came back a few days later and she saw that there was no allergic reaction to the dye. So I lay down on the bed and she applied vaseline as a barrier around the eye area so that my skin didnt get dyed awell! She warned me that I would have to keep my eyes closed for about 10 minutes...it was the longest 10 minutes ever ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A RISKY BUSINESS (369 words)

2 days ago I was walking past a beauty parlour and saw a sign advertising an offer for eyebrow shaping, tinting and eyelash tinting for £15 and decided, quite spontaniously, to give it a go. The actual process was quite uncomfortable. They apply lots of petroleum jelly under the eye to stop the dye spreading. Then they apply a stiff pad under the eye which feels like a clamp and apply the dye. Then they apply something else (I couldn't see what!) which stops you from opening your eyes. The process takes 15 minutes approx. It was a bit painful when the beautician was removing the excess dye. She seemed to poke about under my eyelid. When I looked in ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Eyelash Tinting: Permanent mascara! (672 words)

I recently had my eyelashes tinted through a friend of mine who needed a guinea-pig for her beautician exams. Like everyone who is currently considering getting their eyelashes done, I was quite apprehensive, and I will not hide the fact that it is quite a delicate process. However, I was astounded to see that it was not at all the painful and difficult task I had been expecting! My first question when my friend proposed tinting my eyelashes was: Is it going to make me blind? She told me that there have been just a couple of extreme cases in the past where some people have been temporarily blinded by tinting. But apparently, this happened because of the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review I was 'dying' to try this treatment! (394 words)

As you may have read in the review I posted this morning, my husband treated me to a few hours of refuge in a beauty salon yesterday. I've recently had another bouncing boy and was feeling a bit rubbish about the way I looked so he thought he'd perk me up a bit! After having my eyelashes permed I had them tinted. Even though I have brown hair my eyelashes are quite fair and I look Pretty rough without mascara on. Having two babies under two doesn't give me much time to put my make up on so this would be an ideal solution. First the young girl put vaseline around the base of my eyes. This ensures that the dye doesn't run and end up dying my eyelids ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Eyelash Tinting: Beautiful lashes...maybe not! (773 words)

A couple of days ago, I was wandering past a Beauty Salon in the town where I live. I popped in, just to pick up a price list to see what kind of treatment they offered. When I got home, and was looking through it, I saw that they did eyelash tinting for £9. I'd often thought about having my eyelashes tinted. Mascara really gets on my nerves because I have such thick lashes, it tends to clump. If I had my eyelashes tinted I wouldn't have to bother with mascara (or eyeliner) for 1-2 months! Next day I decided to book my appointment. It was easy to get a booking since it really doesn't take that long to do. They receptionisy asked me if I had had it ...  Read the complete review
