Advantages: Very rich
Disadvantages: Too strong for normal skin
This heel balm comes in a small tube and is a very very thick consistancy. The balm is a bit yellow in colour to look at and has quite an anticeptic, medical smell to it.
It is designed to treat extremely dry, rough or cracked skin on feet so that with intensive treatment these areas can be healed and softened. It is about £5 for a small tube v=but because it is so rich in texture you do only need a pea sized squeeze for each application. The tube will therefore last you a very long time even with regular morning and evening useage.
I bought this product because I had some small areas of dry skin on my heels which I wanted to smooth. Whilst treating these areas I did also use any excess balm I squeezed out as a general foot moisturiser too. I found that it did treat the dry areas well but where I had used the excess on normal skin it was too strong and it actually caused my feet to peel a bit! It wasn't painful though but I think it over treated the normal areas of my skin so I would recommend that it is only used on very dry areas that do need more extensive treatment. If your feet are just a bit dry or you want to just do a normal moisturise stick to a normal lotion!
Summary: Good for feet needing some TLC

- 25/09/09 Personally I doubt that there's any product on earth that could 'heal' the gigantic, gaping cracks I've got on my heels, as I've left it much too late and for that I think I'd have to turn to a higher power, such as religion...but it's nice to know there is a something on the market that doesn't cost too much and might help 'soften' the problem, so many thanks for the informative and honest review! |
