      As good as any!

This Garnier toner has lasted me quite a while. I can’t even remember buying it to be honest.

      ~ Packaging ~
It comes in a 200ml bottle. The bottle is made from green transparent plastic and it has a white flip cap lid.
The back of the bottle suggests that this toner should be used as part of your daily skincare routine for a clear complexion and skin that looks beautiful, fresh and radiant.
It promises to lift off impurities and dead skin cells which could otherwise leave skin looking dull and it prepares your skin perfectly for moisturising.

      ~ Price ~
You can buy a 200ml bottle of this toner for £3.15 from Superdrug, which I think is very reasonable.

      ~ In use ~
I have a few bottles of toner on the go and this one was probably the one I used the most up until the last few months when I decided to buy Clinique’s clarifying lotion as I had bought the Clinique cleanser and moisturiser as part of the 3-step skincare system (I must be a fool for falling for that little marketing trick).
I always apply this toner after cleansing my face. I usually apply this toner using a cotton wool pad.
It has the same consistency as water so you have to be careful not to pour too much onto your cotton wool pad. You don’t need much of this toner to get a good coverage.
It feels cool and refreshing on my skin and it doesn’t irritate my skin or sting like some toners I have used do.
After firmly wiping this over my face I find that my skin looks radiant and clearer than it did prior to using this. It removes impurities and dead skin cells and minimises my pores. It feels very gentle and doesn’t make my skin feel tight like Clinique’s toner does. I really don’t know whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.
After using this toner my skin does not look or feel dried out at all. It is a very effective toner.
I don’t think the results that this toner produces are any worse than the results of my Clinique toner, which cost about £10.00 more.
I would definitely consider buying this toning lotion again in the future. It does the job fine and it is very reasonably priced.

      A good refreshing toner

As part of my skin car routine, I like to cleanse and tone every evening before bed. I am not loyal to any brand in particular and tend to buy whatever is on offer then I am running low. The last time this happened, I spotted the Garnier Skin Naturals range was half price in Superdrug and as I already used some Garnier products and was pleased with their results, I decided to give it a go.

The cleanser retails for around £2.99 for a 200ml bottle and is available from high street chemists, supermarkets and I have even spotted this in Home Bargains. I paid £1.50 at the time I purchased as it was on a promotion.

According to Garnier, the toner is designed to remove all traces of make up, cleanse, tone and refresh, I tend to use mine after using a cleanser so I cant really comment on whether is removed make up as this has normally already been removed. However, looking at the back of the bottle, it tells me to use after removing all traces of makeup which is a bit confusing.

The toner comes in a green bottle which is topped with a white flip top lid which I find really easy to open one handed. I thought from looking at the bottle that it was going to be green in colour but it is actually clear, it has a nice fresh, fruity and clean fragrance to it (apparently it has grape extract inside but I wouldn’t say it smells of this)

To dispense the toner, simply flip up the lid; tip up onto a piece of cotton wool. I find that I don’t have to squeeze the bottle to dispense and the toner flows out the bottle quite freely (sometimes a little too freely so be careful). I only need to add quite a small amount to my cotton wool as a little seems to go a very long way. I then sweep the cotton wool over the face. I do find that this does quite a good job at freshening my skin up and leaves my face feeling super soft.

The toner does exactly what it says it will, it leaves my skin feeling wonderfully soft and clean, and better still, leaves a nice subtle fragrance behind on my face. I would say I have combination skin and sometimes, it can be a little on the dry side however the toner doesn’t dry it out at all and leaves it looking lovely.

As I said earlier, I little really does go a long way and I find that a 200ml bottle lasts me a good few months when being used twice daily. At the price I paid, I would definitely recommend this toner and give it 5 out of 5 stars.

      A good everyday toner

As I have recently reviewed the cleanser of this range I thought I would follow it up with a review of the toner. I have been using this range since my late teens and the fact it has been available for so long shows it must sell well. The product and packaging has been updated several times since I've been using it but it suits my skin really well.

      Cleanse and Tone
I've always followed my use of cleanser with toner as to me it finishes off the job of cleaning my face and neck.
It comes in a decent 200ml bottle which lasts me a few months. The flip top lid is on the top of the bottle has a small hole so even if you knock the bottle over the product you've got a couple of seconds to recover it before it gets everywhere. The bottle is fairly sturdy making it easy to control how much of the toner you dispense.

I apply the toner to a cotton wool pad and then I use it to remove any traces of cleanser and make up. This is similar to rinsing your face with water but the toner is far more gentle on my skin, it is alcohol free which can dry the skin. After I have used the toner my skin is ready for me to apply my moisturiser.
My skin feels clean and fresh after using this and it also has a lovely light fragrance due to it being enriched with grape extract. I use this product morning and night as part of my cleanse, tone and moisturise routine and I really like it.
I also use this product if I want to freshen up my skin during the day, particularly on a hot day as it does a great job at making me feel cool again.

      Price and availability
I usually buy this in Boots, it is currently £3.15 and on buy one get one free. I find this product isn't as widely available as the cleanser and it is quite expensive for what it does.

      Would I recommend?
Yes if you have normal or combination skin then this product is worth a try, it works really well in combination with the cleanser.

      Garnier fresh essentials refreshing toner

I always use a toner after cleansing my skin and before moisturising but have no loyalty to any particular brand. All I want is a toner which doesn't feel as though it is stripping my skin of all its natural moisture but which feels as though it is doing something positive.

      **What does this promise?**

The toner is for normal to combination skin but Little Miss has also used it and whilst she doesn't have especially sensitive skin, it is less worn than my skin and she has suffered no adverse ski effects. It promises to refresh, brighten and tone skin helping to achieve a beautiful complexion. I don't know quite how true this is but Garnier also promise to use wherever possible, naturally dprived active ingredients so I assume this has got to be better for my skin.

      **How does it work?**

The product is apparently enriched with grape extract and pro-Vitamin B5, and so will remove any remaining impurities such as make-up and pollution. If it does all of this then I will certainly be a happy consumer

      **Product and Packaging...**

The green tinged bottle contains 200ml of the stuff and has all of the instructions for use and information on the back of the bottle. The liquid is dispensed by simply lifting up the lift up/press down lid and pouring it from the hole in the top of the bottle. Fortunately, it's the bottle that's green and not the toner; this is perfectly clear with a very very faint fruity scent which could be the grape extract but I'm not sure.

      **Directions for use...**
After removing make-up, the toner should be applied to cotton wool and then wiped on gently on skin. It's a nice gentle product and as hoped not at all astringent but it does take away traces of dirt which have been missed with general cleansing.

      **Price and availability...**

The RRP is about £4 but it is sometimes on offer in supermarkets and chemists.

      **Verdict...**

This is a good product which does what it says on the tin and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean without making it feel as though my skin has been stripped of all moisture. It is effective however in that it feels as though it does tighten my pores but doesn't make my skin feel dry. After using this and then applying moisturiser I really do feel as though my skin is fresh and clean

Not expensive and it lasts for ages; I would recommend this product.

      Thanks for reading

      Daniela xx

      4 stars

I try my best to have a beauty routine but I find it hard to stick to so anything that is simple as possible is what I go for. My daughter recommended that I cleansed, toned and moisturised once a day and this is what I try to do although at the moment it seems to be more like once a week!

I bought this toner as it was cheap and that is the only reason. Some other brands were really expensive but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I would be using (hopefully) everyday as I could see it ending up costing a lot over the course of a year.

It comes in a bottle which is quite all and reminds me of sun tan lotion in it's shape but it is very pale green. It has a flip cap with a little hole for the toner to come out.

I cleanse first and then tone using this. I apply it with cotton wool balls. It is very watery, just like water and so I drip bits out at a time onto the cotton wool to make sure that I don't use too much.

When I apply it to skin it feels really cool and soothing and is very gentle. It doesn't sting and feels nice with it being cold.

It takes a moment or two before it goes into the skin and then I moisturise. I'm not sure whether this toner has made a difference but the 3 products together that I have been using as part of my routine has helped my skin to look and feel better. It looks more healthy and is smoother which is really nice.

I don't have anything to compare this to as haven't used a toner before but I think this one is fine.

A quality skin toner from Garnier

I regularly use skin toners, which have been an essential part of my beauty routine for well over thirty years. I tend to alternate between different brands, as I cannot admit to having one particular favourite, as those that I've purchased all tend to carry out the same job.

Whilst I am unsure of the reason why, a range that I would never have previously considered in relation to skin care is Garnier. However, since being introduced to their highly effective day and night Ultra Lift facial moisturisers, I have being trying out a few of their other products with this review discussing their Fresh Essentials Refreshing Toner, which is suitable for those with normal to combination skin.

The 200ml transparent plastic bottle of toner is visually appealing due to its fresh and clean pale green contents in addition to the fact that the product is enriched with grape extract and pro-vitamin B5, which are claimed to remove any impurities. I use facial toning products on my T-zone skin twice a day to assist in keeping my skin clean and fresh. The bottle offers a fairly large lid, which can partially be flipped open, which is an effortless task and can be carried out with the fingers of one hand whilst the other receives the product onto a cotton wool ball. I would advise that the lid offers a considerably sturdy hinged section, so despite my continued opening and closing, it remains perfect intact.

As the consistency of the toner resembles that of liquid the bottle needs to be only slightly tilted, as otherwise it will whoosh from the small aperture. I apply only a small amount to my cotton wool morning and evening and gently sweep it over my skin. The cool liquid is very comforting on the skin as well as being refreshing with the fragrance being very delicate and suitable for both men and women. I find that two applications are sufficient to remove any dirt and impurities and whilst the toner is highly effective, its ingredients are very gentle on the skin. A few toners that I've used in the past have left a slight residue on the surface of my skin, but I cannot speak of this issues whilst using this product.

In addition to toning and refreshening my skin, the product enables me to maintain a healthy and radiant appearance, which is very favourable, particularly as I am so pale skinned. The delicate aroma gently lingers for a short while after use as well as leaving the texture of my skin feeling soft and smooth. As toning products are not intended to provide hydrating properties, I always use a moisturiser after use although I cannot report of the toner causing any dryness or adverse effects.

I can highly recommend Garnier Fresh Essentials Refreshing Toner, which generally retails at a very affordable £3 per 200ml bottle. Due to my positive experience with using this product it receives five stars from me.

I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
