      lovely but could be better

Ghost is a fashion and beauty brand. The current line up of Ghost fragrances includes Luminous, Deep Night and Anticipation to name a few.

      ~Enchanted Bloom~

'A scent of complete and utter romance'

Enchanted Bloom is a more recent addition to the Ghost fragrance collection. It falls into the 'fruity floral' fragrance family and can be appreciated in the form of an eau de toilette and a body lotion.

Enchanted Bloom Body Lotion provides the perfect base for applying the EDT for long lasting fragrance on the skin. It can also be used alone and offers a like for like, but lesser strength fragrance than the EDT. This body lotion promises to 'smooth, refine and tone' your skin whilst beautifully scenting it with the Enchanted Bloom fragrance.

The promised scent includes fragrance notes of peach caviar, jasmine sambac, violet leaves and cranberry.

      ~Design~

Unlike the other Ghost body lotions, Enchanted Bloom is presented in a tall, pink coloured tube. The tube features a purple flip lid at the base for easy dispensing. I personally find the packaging to be functional but nothing inspiring - it is simple in design. The tube can be recycled and this body lotion has a 12month shelf life.

      ~Price and Availability~

A 200ml tube can be purchased from Amazon UK and www.escentual.com priced at £13.65. It is also available from www.feelunique.com priced at £14.94.

      ~My Thoughts~

I have a massive collection of body lotions including some designer brand names. Over the past 3 years, I have sampled every Ghost body lotion in the range - I have my favourites and Enchanted Bloom is definitely up there! The majority of my designer body lotions are reserved for special occasion or evening use. Enchanted Bloom is more suited to day time use and more specifically, for warmer days.

When it comes to designer body lotions, the main focus is on the scent. Personally, I also like appreciate a good moisturiser thrown in to make the price worth paying. I can confirm Enchanted Bloom does deliver a decent level of hydration to my dry, sensitive skin. The lotion has a lightweight, creamy consistency and is white in colour. It flows beautifully from the tube and I apply a generous blob to each arm and around my chest area.

This body lotion absorbs quickly and doesn't leave any tacky layer on the surface of my skin. This is perfect for me as it means i do not have to hang around waiting on this to sink in when I want to get dressed. I do not feel that this is as luxurious to apply as many designer lotions but then again, it is cheaper than the likes of Gucci and Chanel so that can be forgiven. It is very practical to use and is perfectly suitable for everyday use.

Whilst not intensive or deeply hydrating, this body lotion leaves my skin silky smooth and very comfortable. I have experienced no adverse reaction anytime I have applied this lotion. My skin feels soft and supple for most of the day which is fine for me. I do prefer a thicker body lotion or cream to penetrate my dry skin so this lotion would perhaps suit those who have normal skin more.

Scent-wise, Ghost have managed to capture the beautiful fragrance of Enchanted Bloom and blended it to perfection in this body lotion. This body lotion isn't highly perfumed so is perfect for those who want a subtle scent on the skin. When I first popped the lid open, I could detect a creamy body lotion aroma and not much else - my initial impression was that this body lotion would be perhaps a little too subtle. Once on my skin though, the scent is more noticeable but never overpowering.

I love the Enchanted Bloom fragrance. It is light and refreshing hence why I use it on warmer days. It is perfect for those days where a heavy perfume may be too cloying. The fragrance notes are blended well. Personally, I prefer the body lotion scent to the actual EDT as the sweetness of the peach caviar and cranberry is more prominent than the floral violet leaves. The floral notes do not take centre stage. The jasmine takes the edge of the sweetness a little and adds a pleasant depth. This is a stunning yet understated feminine scent and I really do like it.

Alone on my skin, the scent of this body lotion sits close to my skin and is detectable for 6-8 hours depending on my level of activity (I notice it fades quicker if I am exercising or shopping rather than relaxing). When topped up with the EDT (before my bottle ran out), the scent remained noticeable for 12hours in total. Wearing both the body lotion and EDT together allows both the sweet and the floral notes to come through in equal measures which was pleasant.

      ~Conclusion~

For under £15.00 I can recommend this body lotion. It doesn't provide an immense amount of moisture for my skin but I love using it and the scent is divine. This body lotion would be the perfect gift for any female as it isn't too young nor too mature in scent - it would appeal to most. I do find I need to use more of this than other body lotions so my tube is nearly finished - time to purchase another soon!

      4 stars from me!

      Thanks for reading :)
