      Very helpful

a gorgeous lotion but not worth the money

Ghost is a range of female fragrances introduced by Tanya Sarne. The current line up of fragrances includes the following :

      *Deep Night

Each fragrance has its own signature aroma but the bottles although different, reflect a feminine and delicate design.

      *~*~*Ghost Luminous*~*~*

Ghost Luminous was released to reflect the modern women wishing to shine from the inside. It is available in an Eau de Toilette, a body lotion and a shower gel which can be used individually or together to layer on the scent.

The Moisturising Body Lotion is the ideal base on which to build the Luminous scent. It is designed to refresh, revitalise and soften out the skin whilst leaving the Luminous trace behind.

The full size lotion comes housed in a rather plain, rounded bottle. The bottle is made of strong, thick plastic and adopts a shiny, yellow/gold colour with burgandy writing. The lid screws on covering a small dispensing hole within a plastic ring. The bottle can be recycled and should be used up within 12months of opening.

A scented body lotion should reflect the actual scent of its perfume. Taking this into consideration, Ghost Luminous Moisturising Body Lotion would contain the following notes :

*Top notes - a fruity and sweet opening awaits consisting of blackcurrant, melon, pineapple, apples, sea breeze and champagne.

*Heart notes - the body of Luminous is strong with a floral combination of raspberry leaves, jasmine, violet, rose and freesia.

*Base - a complex base with a dry down of sandalwood, candied raspberry, peach and vetiver.

      *~*~*Availability and Price*~*~*

The 200ml bottle can be purchased online at stores such as www.escentual.com and www.amazon.co.uk for just short of £20.00. A gift set can be picked up for around this price containing a 30ml EDT and 50ml body lotion.

      *~*~*My Luminous Experience*~*~*

I love my body lotions and the more expensive the more luxurious I feel wearing them! Ghost is a brand I have been using for a few years now as I love their fragrances..they are high quality at an affordable price. A few months ago, I became the owner of a collection of Ghost scented body lotions and the Luminous one was in this lot.

I have the 200ml bottle but when it comes to body lotions, I find tubes so much more convenient and less wastage. The bottle is pretty plain and boring. Considering it is priced not much cheaper than the likes of more premium branded lotions, Ghost could have put a bit more effort into the design but hey ho! It holds the lotion well but I find the bottle awkward to squeeze due to the thickness of the plastic.

Once I manage to get the lotion out onto my skin, its consistency is creamy but light and it feels extremely cold and refreshing on my skin before I even begin to spread it. As I get down to spreading the lotion out, its thickness is noticeable but it spreads with ease covering each segment of skin with a creamy layer. Starting off as a vibrant white colour, the lotion turns clear and shiny as I massage it over my dry skin.

The lotion takes a good 5minutes or so to fully soak into my skin. During the time between initial application and fully absorbing, the lotion sits on the surface of my skin in a slightly, greasy way. This prevents me from being able to get dressed straight away as my clothes would stick to my skin. After it has absorbed fully, I can appreciate its qualities before getting dressed to go out.

Appearance wise, the lotion leaves a noticeable shimmer on my skin which gives a radiant and fresh look. It isn't glittery or too obvious but its just nice and adds a touch of glow which I like for day to day use. My skin feels clean and refreshed to a high standard like it has been thouroughly cleansed. I suffer with dry and rough skin and this lotion allows my skin to feel moisturised and like it has been given a new and fresh layer to get on with.

The scent that I experienced as I squeezed the lotion from the bottle, was uplifting and amazingly fresh. The Luminous title fits the scent well as it is actually luminous! The immediate aroma is Summery and although light, it is bright and inviting. Once on the skin, the scent sits very well and develops over the course of a few hours just as I imagine the perfume would.

I am invited into a vibrant world where fruits are everywhere..tempting at every turn. I can pick up a sparkly ensemble of notes with the pineapple surely adding a sour and exotic addition to a fresh and succulent opening. The opening is soft and smooth mainly a gentle fizzy twist which I feel is owed to the champagne. The scent goes on and sweeps to reveal a delicate heart.

The scent on my skin changes effortlessly and the florals come through in a fresh yet distinctive manner. It offers me a subtle floral aroma which I appreciate as often florals can be too heady and I can't get used to them but Ghost got it just right with Luminous. The jasmine gives the most strength and once blended with the lightness of freesia and sweetness of the violet and rose, a true, naturally floral scent becomes apparent and radiates blissfully from my skin.

Around 4-5hours after application, the light freshness that has carried the scent on my skin, gradually drys down to reveal a base which is simple delicious. The sandalwood and vetiver work together to create a creamy and enchanting aroma. This infuses with a complex sweet/sour combination which is down to the peach and raspberry. An uncommon choice for a base as it is fruity and creamy at the same time and not a hint of vanilla or amber in sight!

      *~*~*Lasting Effects and Scent*~*~*

The moisturising effects on my skin remain strong throughout the day and dryness is kept at a very minimal level throughout the night. The radiant glow on my skin is shortlived, lasting only a matter of an hour or two. The scent doesn't last the day as it is subtle and light. I would say it lasts on my skin for around 7hours in total but this could be enhanced with a few sprays of the EDT.

      *~*~*Conclusion and Recommendation*~*~*

I appreciate the fresh and luminous aroma that is produced by this lotion and it hydrates my skin to a reasonable level. It is a perfect Summer scent as it isn't heavy or cloying and even with the EDT, it could be carried off as a scent for the Summer. I do not feel it is worth nearly £20.00 as a stand alone product as it lacks strength and staying power to be considered at this price. I would say £10 was more appropriate. One bottle goes along way though as only a tiny blob is needed.

      Thanks for reading..recommended :)
