Advantages: Lovely smell, economical to use and it's all round great
Disadvantages: None I am aware of
During my time here on Dooyoo I have written a few reviews on men orientated products. Not because I have previously been a man or have aspirations to be one by the way! I live with a man all be it my Step-Father and I'm forgetful! I go to the shower and get myself all wet and constantly forget to take my shower gel in the bathroom with me. Now why don't I keep my shower gel in the bathroom like a 'normal' person I hear you think? Well cos my mum uses cheap stuff and of course if mine is in there (I buy only good stuff!) she'll think nothing of using it and like me she is heavy handed with stuff! So more often than not (if I'm not leaving the house of course) I'll use his shower gel. I mean it's not like I'm going to bed with a man after using it or going clubbing or anything and I just want to be clean after-all lol.
The Packaging:
The gel is in a bottle much like what is shown on the photograph at the top of this page. It's dark grey and a sort of oblong in shape with a flip top opening to the bottom of it and raised plastic to the sides of it to create a 'grip' for ease of use. On the front label I'm told it is Gillette Triple (x3) Action System Shower Gel 'Arctic Ice'. On the back of the bottle other information includes being told a bit about the product, ingredients, size and contact details for The Gillette company are all given besides lots of information given in different languages. It's a masculine, no nonsense bottle that is easy to handle and feels like quality when handling it.
The Gel Itself:
Well the gel itself is a rich turquoise, transparent consistency. It's not so runny that if you accidentally left the flip top opening undone it would pour out but it isn't a firm one either. You simply give the bottle a gentle squeeze and out it shoots easy enough type of thing.
With this you only need a really small blob and of course you apply it to damp/wet skin with whatever method you wish to. I applied about the size of a 5p onto my scrunchy and rubbed it over my wet skin and it foamed up into really soft and moisturising, rich thick white lather in a couple of seconds.
The smell of this again, is of course very masculine. It smells like an aftershave really and is rather strong but modern and very pleasant indeed. I can only describe this fragrance as sort of sea fresh and blue! To me as well this is unusual as it has a slight mentholness to it and an undertone of sweetness. Whatever the aroma is it's crisp, fresh, clean and although very rich it remains light due to the menthol!
So, where was I lol. Yes...so I found it very cleansing, nicely fragranced though a bit butch for a girly girl like me. I found it cooling on the skin, very cleansing and I even managed to shave my bits and bobs with it. When it came to rinsing it off that was easy and of course then all I was left to do was dry myself off.
Results:
I was left clean and felt very refreshed indeed after using this. My skin was left really soft and subtle though I couldn't feel any residue on my skin and the smell lingered on me for a good few hours and I was really very pleased with the results this gave me and feel a bit jealous of the guys getting this one to be honest! I can't personally say I'm going to use this again because the fragrance really is just all wrong for a woman but when it comes to cleaning capabilities and freshness and leaving my skin in a nice condition...this really did deliver first class results. Recommended as a gift for men or men you should go and buy it! It's great and gets a big thumbs up from me!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc and expect to pay aroun £2.29 a bottle.
Summary: One for the men only!

- 02/11/09 LOL. I have to admit to using my hubbys also. I lock mine in the wardrobe as my four daughters (well threes now at home) use a bottle in one shower, so I hide it. Many a time I have forgotten to lift mine and use my hubbys as I cant be bothered climbing back out lol. I even used his deodorant 3 Sundays ago, when I severed my thumb and he rushed me to hospital. I was peeling the spuds and decided to sharpen the knife and slipped, well I was sweating so much in the car on the way and was looking my worst (as you always do in times like this lol) so I grabbed his spray he keeps in the car and had no choice to use it lol. To be honest It smelt like a man's scent, but it certainly worked and lasted really well. I wish womens sprays where like this. Well sorry for going on a bit lol. Excellent! |
