Advantages: good grip, moisturises

I was in Boots the other day browsing along the shelves, in my break at work. I had a few things to get but I am not really one to pay attention to TV advertising and adverts so am not always aware of the newest products which is why I get a shock if I see them when out shopping. I recently came across the Gillette Venus Embrace Razor it was on offer but looked like a new product out. I have always been a believe in having a decent razor and Gillette do the best, I was previously using the pink Venus Razor but wanted something new so Embrace seemed ideal.
The Embrace razor stands out on the shelf as some of the Bic ones are quite dull whereas Gillette are that bit more pricier but do pay off in results. The colour scheme is how to identify the different razors, Embrace is a blue and green colour, it is more rubbery on the handle with ridges which gives a very good grip. The razor is made for the hand to hold onto well as it even curves slightly. The razor head is easy enough to push off as you push in the 3D blue ridge and it pops out. The replacement razors are very expensive at roughly £11 for about 6 it is probably cheaper to just buy a whole new razor.
The blade of the razor is much bigger than the previous Venus. It has moisture strips as most of them usually do except this one is slightly wide. The different with Embrace is that it has five blades, two more than before which means it gets closer to the skin apparently to give a closer shave as the head grooves into curves with it being flexible.
So, to put the product to use, well I always use Gillette shaving gel as I feel it is the best coming in a few different scents but making shaving a lot smoother and longer lasting effects. So running the shower water I applied the shaving gel which soon was all over. I ran my blade under the water and then glided over my leg getting the leg as smooth as I possibly could not missing any areas. The blades were not as rough feeling as before it barely felt like a razor was going over my leg as it was so smooth and seemed a lot easier to glide over the skin.
Once out of the shower, I tower dried myself and then looked at the effects, it had definitely been a closer shave than the previous Venus. It wasn't even obvious the root areas and the hair seemed to take a few days to grow back rather than before when it grew back quicker. With a firmer grip of the handle it just seemed to be a lot easier to use the razor as it was made to be held.
With the razor comes the holder which can be stuck to the shower wall as it has suction pads. This is half the size of my last Venus's holder and it still opens to show space inside where replacement razor packets can be stored, making it all very compact and well thought out.
The razor made me happy as my legs still felt smooth after shaving and even for underarm shaving; the results were a lot closer as the razor head curved in properly.
If the razor sounds appealing, it is available to buy at all supermarkets and places such as Superdrug and Boots. I got mine half price at Boots so it cost me £3.42 but it normally costs about £6.84. I think it is worth the money even full price but on offer they did sell out very quick of their stock. For a packet of 3 replacement blades it costs £7.82 and for a packet of 6 it costs £14.67. Boots.com are doing a great deal called the Special Pack. It costs £7.82 but is the razor and it comes with 4 replacement blades which is a bargain saving about £7 in money.
For more information on the Venus Embrace, the Gillette website can be found at http://www.gillettevenus.com/uk/ . The website lists all other razors in the Venus series with more information on what the razor offers. There is also a list of Frequently Asked Questions on the website.
The Embrace is ideal for anyone unhappy with their razor or who needs to buy a new one and wants to try something different. It is also for a better shave and a comfortable grip.
