This packaging is eye-catching and does draw you to the product. The razor itself is blue, and has rubber on the underside to add grip. The razor is comfortable to hold. It is also simple to change the cartridges, as they just clip on. Each cartridge can be used a few times before it gets blunt, so you don't have to change it too often. Crowned Review Gillette Venus: Step one in looking like a godess. (722 words)
by - written on 25/08/01 (Very useful, 629 readings)
Rating:

Well I must admitt I did by Gillettes new Venus razor based soley on the fact that the comercial sold it to me and well...it looked pretty. It was a bit on the pricey side at £5.99 from Superdrug but came with free shaving foam, a body puff and a cute metal box..so how could I resist? It came with only two blades, (sigh) as the blades are quite expensive at least £1 each! But thats no big deal as for most decent razors the blades are an arm and a leg anyhow. The Venus may seem pricy but it is definitely worth it as your legs will never feel so good...wave goodbye to the old alternatives ...shaving is back on top!!! I was hoping that after ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Don't graze your pubes! (1046 words)
by - written on 21/11/02 (Very useful, 2476 readings)
Rating:

I bet most of us remember our first experience of hair removal quite clearly. I wonder how many of us had our first illicit affair with our father's precious razor? I am talking about the ladies here, chaps! I distictly remember, aged about 12, surveying the downy fair hairs on my legs and thinking I wonder what shaving feels like? I hid myself in the bathroom whilst my parents were out, and had great fun with my Dad's razor. I lived to regret it as I seemed to make myself a job for life, as the fair downy hair was replaced by a veritable forest of dark, coarse twigs! Oh dear! A lifetime of trying assorted hair removal techniques followed, ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Gillette Venus: Stroke Me - I'm Naked! (1006 words)
by - written on 07/09/03 (Very useful, 468 readings)
Rating:

Yes, I am naked while writing this. Previously, I was all hairy and horrible, but now I am perfectly smooth. What am I talking about? My legs, of course! For some reason, someone somewhere once decided that women’s legs should always be free of hair. I don’t know who this was, but I’d like to hit him. (Let’s face it, it’s bound to be a man!) This chore has caused me countless hours of irritation and pain over the years, as I have had to balance this with a desire for social acceptance and wanting to conform. I usually wear trousers, so my legs are rarely on display anyway. But in the summer, when it’s just toooo hot ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A close shave! (309 words)
by - written on 13/08/09 (Very useful, 12 readings)
Rating:

This razor is around £6, and has two cartridges with it (i.e. two razor heads). The cartridges are available separately in boxes of 4 (for around £7). This does seem slightly expensive, especially compared to disposable razors. The packaging is attractive, on both the razor and the cartridges. The packaging on the razor is a patterned blue cardboard backing, with clear plastic attached that holds the razor's box in place. In the middle of the clear plastic is the Venus logo in white. The cartridges, when bought separately, come in a small cardboard box, aqua blue in colour, and the Venus logo, in white, central on the box. There is also a picture of the razor. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Gillette Venus: Not quite the closest a woman can get! (562 words)
by - written on 12/08/09 (Very useful, 50 readings)
Rating:

No pain no gain. Apparently the motto associated with looking good. Well, I was sick of exiting the bathroom holding my leg and half hobbling because my cheap men's razors had yet again drawn blood from my poor legs. I'm not sure if my legs are very sensitive or if they're just always full of hidden bumps but when shaving day comes around although I usually ended up with relatively clear, un-foresty legs they often hurt. A lot. So, I decided I needed a change. Something more feminine. Something that did the trick but was a bit gentler on the skin. There are lots of ladyshavers out there but the only reason I decided to go for the Venus ladyshaver was that I'd ...  Read the complete review
