I had been looking to buy a new razor for ages, to replace my rather worn out Gillette Sensor for Women. Then I went into Boots, and saw a whole display of the wonderful new Venus razors. I was just deciding whether to buy a new set of blades for my old razor, but on comparing the price decided to go for the new *funky* Venus, which had 2 blades included and was not too extortionate at £5.99. It is the equivalent of the Mach III for blokes I believe.

I tried it out the other day, and its definitely the best purchase I have made in a while! It is really well designed. Granted, it does look a little strange, but is easy to hold and very easy to use. The head tilts almost through 90 degrees, and the blades do not get 'haired up' because of the newer design modifications. There is a little aloe vera strip to soothe your skin, and this fades to let you know when to change blades (obviously most of us do actually realise when it is time to change blades...) The blades themselves come in little sealed packages, a bit wasteful on materials (taking an environmental point of view) but handy if you decide to wall mount the case and don't want your spare blades getting wet and rusty! The shave cartridge just clicks off when it becomes time to change, like with other Gillette razors.

It was much less harsh on my legs than other brands, and gave a very close, smooth shave...and no nicks on my knees or that bit below your calf near your achilles. Not like some other razors which you can practically hear scraping away at the skin, and leave you covered in tissue blots and looking like an extra from ER.

So pretty perfect! The only set back is the price of replacement heads (£5-6), but I don't mind considering the great quality shave. I recommend it to everyone who wants a good quality, quick and hassle free shave!
