Advantages: Great shave, Leaves legs really smooth, No cuts!
Disadvantages: Bit pricey
Any lady will tell you that summer is a grim time when it comes to De-fuzzing. We have to make sure that our pins are fur-free as well as attempting to make them look gorgeous, toned and tanned. We have to make sure that our Bikini lines don't look like something from a Godzilla movie (apologies for the graphic detail), whilst remembering to make sure our underarms don't end up like that tragic Julia Roberts incident (ladies will know what I mean- right?). So of course when I saw this advert with all the girls waving their lovely tanned, perfectly hair free legs around, I sort of went into a little daydream of me looking all gorgeous with nice long perfect legs, but the I realized I was being silly. My legs are nowhere near the word pins, more like knitting needles, but shorter! So where was I? Oh yes back to the razor, right. So off I popped down to Boots to hand over what I thought would be about three or four pounds. So I had to hide my shock when I saw that it was £5.99 and that the blades were £5.49! Not prepared to pay that much for a razor I went home with a lip gloss instead. Again and again those adverts came on, tempting me with their silky smooth legs, waving them around and again and again I kept cutting myself in the shower (grrrr). So I went back to Boots and reluctantly forked out the £5.99, after all I did want to look like a goddess, who doesn't? So I jumped straight in to the shower to test it out. Wow! I've never had a razor as good as this before; even compared to the mach three this was great. I didn't cut myself once! My legs were silky smooth although they still aren't Goddess like :( But hey that has nothing to do with the razor. So what makes the Venus so brilliant? Well it has three blades, so it gives you a much closer shave. The blade bends with the contours of your body, so you don't end up with any nasty cuts on your knees, ankles, etc. The blades are really easy to
change, they just come off at the push of a button and u just push the next one straight on and it clicks in to place. The blades also have a rubber strip underneath which helps the razor to glide over your skin really easily. At the top of the blades is a little lubricated strip, which is an indicator of when to change the blade (when the strip vanishes, it needs changing). The little booklet thingy I got with it says that each blade gives you 6 shaves, but I guess this is just an estimate because everyone has different levels of fuzziness! The Venus also comes with a handy little case which can carry your blades and has a handy little thing on the back which means you can stick it up in your bathroom, as long as it doesn't clash with your décor (of course!). The Venus does have the bonus of being a lot more attractive than ordinary razors (bic etc.) with its nice turquoise colour and little holder. The one thing I would say is maybe a disadvantage of the Venus is the price, and the price of replacing the blades. You do however get two blades free with the razor which might last you maybe two weeks. The blades cost £5.49 ish for a pack of four depending on where you buy them. Gillette also recommends you buy the Satin Care shaving gel, but that's purely optional. I tried it myself and it didn't make a lot of difference from ordinary shaving foam to me, but anyway, if you like your luxuries then buy it. The Venus is good news for all you blokes out there, although I'm not sure any of you will be reading this, as it means that your wife/girlfriend/lover/one-night stand/whatever won't be nabbing your Mach 3 or whatever. So go and buy her one of these, she will love it and she will be all nice a silky smooth for you ;) quickly now, run along to Boots! So overall, I would recommend the Venus, as long as you don't mind paying for it! It gives a great shave and although it doesn't make you in to one of the
girls from the ads it will make you feel great and your legs will never have been so cut-free! Peek xxx Wow i've written 764 words on a razor :-O
