~Guess who made this body cream?~
I bought a low priced gift set some time ago that contained a well sized tube of I'm Yours Body Cream as well as a matching EDT spray from the Guess Seductive fragrance range and found it to be fairly pleasant and easy to wear. The cute and girly pink theme used on both the gift box and product tube gave the product an attractive feminine feel, that I feel may appeal most to younger body care and fragrance buyers. I found that I quite liked the body cream, but feel that I would only buy it again at the right price, as the fragranced effect is quite short lived in my opinion.
I thought that the use of Guess branding on the product box and tube was simple and clear to see, without being over done and flashy. I also thought that the body cream tube was easy to handle and well designed, with it having an easy to open flip top lid that worked well when used as a stand on which to balance the body cream when it was not in use. The product tube dispensed a good amount of cream without me having to apply too much pressure to it. The product lid closed well and provided a good seal that ensured the body cream stayed nice and fresh.
Whilst I wouldn't say that the fragrance used in this moisturisng body lotion is all that out standing or memorable I can say that I found it to be light and easy to wear. The makers of the product describe it as having a fruity gourmand fragrance with a sultry and sexy edge to it. In wear I found that the pretty feminine notes used in the fragrance made the scented body cream a good choice for day wear. The woody and oriental notes that ought to have added a degree of depth and longevity didn't perform overly well in my opinion, as the fragranced effect felt very short lived once applied to the skin.
I found it quick and easy to apply the actual product to the skin with it becoming absorbed fairly quickly. Whilst this is advertised as being is a body cream rather than a lotion I must say that I found the texture to be quite light and airy, without being overly creamy. The lighter texture meant the cream was quick and easy to smooth on, with it drying down in no time at all. The fragrance was at its strongest when the cream was freshly applied and whilst it remained on the skin for a few hours after application I found that it softened down and faded quite quickly.
In my opinion the over all wear time for the fragranced effect is shorter for this product than for some of the other fragranced body creams and lotions I have used. The skin softening effect of the product lasted longer than the fragrance itself did in my opinion. Peony, passion fruit, tiare flower, magnolia, lily and vanilla orchid make up the florals in the fragrance. The use of patchouli, exotic woods and vetiver should have added more than they did and in my opinion they didn't work towards fixing the fragrance on the skin as well as they could have done.
~Price/ product rating~
The price of a 200ml sized tube of this body cream can be as high as £14 which I feel is rather expensive for something that doesn't fragrance the skin for all that long. I bought the body cream in the sales as part of a gift set and paid around £10 for the EDT and body cream together which I feel is much better value. I feel that at £10 or so the gift set was good value and I would not want to pay more than £5 to £6 for the body cream on its own. The moisturising effect does last quite well and the cream does help soften and smooth the skin once it has been applied. I didn't find the cream to be greasy or heavy at all. I would have liked the product more had it had a longer lasting fragrance. My rating for this body cream is 3 stars which I feel reflects its performance over all.
