      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Would not purchase again.

I was given this in a set as a birthday present, along with the I love.. Strawberries & Milkshake shower/ bath gel. I have never seen packaging quite so nicely laid out in a long time, simple and eye catching, so I couldn't wait to try it. Recently so, I have actually seen the body butter in the supermarkets, and believe it can be bought in the £2-£3 price range, along with the other range of Strawberries & Milkshake products. A few weeks after my birthday, I decided to use the body butter straight after showering (This is when I use all beauty products usually), but was shocked to find that when I opened the tub, the body butter was infact a body, 'slop', not at all the consistency I had hoped for. Nevertheless, the smell was nice and girly, so I decided to give it a go. I used the moisturizer on my arms, legs and feet, and the butter was quite oily. After several tens of minutes of waiting, the butter finally dried, but still felt oily on my skin. The more of the butter I also put on, the more it smelt a false perfume like smell, which was a bit overpowering for me. The moisturizer has elements of Shea butter in, which, as many of us know is one of the best natural treatments to nourish skin, in this butter however, I could not feel the Shea butter working it's magic. I haven't used the body butter since, purely because, as a busy women, I do not have time to wait for hours for an over perfumed body butter to dry. I would purchase this for perhaps a young teenage girl to use during sleepovers, but other than that, I would not recommend this.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A lovely body moisturiser for a tiny price

I love...Strawberries and Milkshake is a body butter which promises to nourish and hydrate the skin. With continued use, it claims to leave your skin feeling softer and silkier.

      How does it work?
The product contains Shea Butter which is one of nature's best moisturisers. It hydrates the skin to a deep level and allows the skin to retain the moisture which prevents it from becoming dry again. It also nourishes and protects the skin, removing any skin aging toxins that may be lurking within.

Glycerin is included which draws moisture into the skin and holds onto it. Coconut Oil strengthens and nourishes the skin with vitamins and minerals, giving it a deep hydration.

How do you use the product?
The product is to be used in much the same way as the average body butter. You are directed to apply a generous amount of the butter to skin that has been cleansed and dried, and massaged into the body until the product has been fully absorbed. The product can be applied as often as required.

      Packaging and Price
The packaging is very cute. The butter comes in a circular pot with a screw top lid. The lid is black and the main part of the part is clear so you see the butter inside. On the lid are some hearts and a lovely little piece of writing that says, "Fall in love again; there's something about the super smoothness of my thick creamy aroma, united with a burst of fresh strawberries, that leaves your senses elated and your taste buds a tingling." The bottom of the tub comes in turn with the warning, "I am not food, please do not swallow me."

The product is much cheaper than you would expect it to be based on the packaging. It only costs around £1.99 for 200ml of the butter and it can be bought from most large supermarkets.

      My thoughts
In the tub, the product does smell completely like strawberry milkshake. It is deliciously sweet, if a little synthetic but totally gorgeous nonetheless. The butter has a baby pink tinge that suits the name and aroma of the product perfectly.
The consistency of the product is runnier than other butters that I've used and I was a little disappointed about this. It is easy to control the amount of product that you are using due to the packaging.

The product glides onto the skin and also feels quite thick and luxurious. Despite this texture, it is fairly easy to massage into the skin and it is absorbed quickly. It leaves a healthy sheen on my skin, with no greasy shine and it feels really comfortable on the skin. My skin is fairly sensitive but it hasn't caused any itchiness or irritation, even when I've used it immediately after shaving.

The moisturising aspect of the product is long lasting and I don't feel the need to reapply the product before bedtime. When applied to the skin, my skin feels very soft, especially when considering the price, and it does feel nice and silky. It has lovely effects from the very first use.

The only negative with this product is that when applied to the skin, the butter smells exactly like Asti, the alcoholic drink! As much as I like this drink, I don't really want to cover myself in the aroma of it, especially when going to work. Whether I've got a bad batch or not, I'm not sure but I don't think I could tell them apart in a 'sniff' test. As such, I use this product mainly when I am just lazing about the house.

If you should find that you like this product, or if you think you would like to try a different version, then also available in the range is Mango & Papaya, Vanilla & Ice cream and raspberry & blackberry, amongst others.

All in all, as a body butter, this works brilliantly and does leave my skin feeling really soft, even from the very first use. In the pot, it smells delicious but on the skin, it smells a little alcoholic. I'd like to try out some of the other aromas because if I could find one that smells delicious on the skin, this product would be a brilliant treat for £1.99

        Disadvantages

A nice smelling, good value body butter

I am a bit addicted to body butters and i'm always on the look out for new ones. I am always in Superdrug buying something or other and came across the I Love... range a couple of months ago, but only recently decided to try the body butters. This body butter comes in a range of different 'flavours' such as papaya, raspberry, etc, and the one I am reviewing is this Strawberries and Milkshake one.

This is priced at just £1.99 for a 200ml pot which I think is amazing! It is also often on offer at 2 pots for £3 so I always take advantage of this and stock up on a few. The packaging is quite basic - the circuar pot is transparent, meaning you can see the light pink body butter through it, and it is made of a sturdy but lightweight plastic. The lid is a screw-on lid and is black with a large pink circular sticker on top of it. The sticker has black writing which has the brand and product name with a brief product description.

The body butter only fills about 3/4 of the tub so that was a bit of a let down. It is a light pink, almost white colour and is nice and thick however it's got that sort of 'wet' and heavy feel to it. It is not oily or runny though which is an advantage. I apply this by scooping a generous amount onto my fingers and rubbing it into my skin. I personally use this all over my body and despite this, it doesn't run out fast - a little goes a long way and a pot usually lasts me for around 2-3 weeks with regular use.

The body butter feels nice on my skin but does feel a bit wet, but not the 'greasy' sort of feeling. It absorbs really quickly and is nice and moisturizing and it also smells amazing - it brings back memories as it smells just like the strawberry Angel Delight! It's not a sickly sweet or overpowering smell but it adds a subtle, pleasent aroma to my skin and lingers for a while. It does not smell plasticy or fake at all.

I have quite sensetive skin and was worried that because it is so cheap, that it may irritate my skin, but I have been absolutely fine with it. I usually apply this in the mornings and the smell lingers for most of the day. It makes my skin feel refreshed and silky soft. Overall, I love this. It is amazing value as the tub lasts for ages and it smells gorgeous.

          A good, basic body butter.

I read some reviews of products from the I love... brand and was intrigued. This company came into being in 2008 and prides itself on making a range of beauty products consisting of body butters, shower gels, bubble baths and lip balms with mouth-watering scents that generate a sense of pure happiness. The names of their ranges do achieve a mouth-watering effect and include blueberry & smoothie, mango & papaya, coconut & cream, raspberry & blackberry, strawberries & milkshake and vanilla & ice cream. Their website is http://www.ilovecosmetics.eu/ and here you can learn more about their products.

A couple of months ago I was ordering some things from the Superdrug website and came across the I love...strawberries & milkshake body butter. I added it to my basket immediately and waited impatiently for this product to arrive. When my order arrived a few days later I opened it immediately and pulled this product out. Like I said before, I was intrigued. This body butter comes in a tub with a black lid. The tub is transparent and you can see the light pink body butter inside. The lid has a sticker on it that has the following message printed on it: "Fall in love again; there's something about the super smoothness of my thick creamy aroma, united with a burst of fresh strawberries, that leaves your senses elated and tastebuds-a-tingling!." I unscrewed the lid off the tub and took a whiff. It smelt gorgeous. I think strawberry milkshake describes the scent perfectly. It had a distinct fruity smell, which was sweet but not sickly. The scent truly is delicious and I really enjoyed reading the message on the lid too.

I had already applied body lotion that day so I waited till the next morning after my shower to apply this. I scooped some up with my fingers and started massaging it into my skin. Despite being a body butter, it was not very moisturizing as it is absorbed a little too easily and I had to use a lot of the product to hydrate my skin. After I had applied it, my skin did feel quite soft and smooth and stayed moisturized till the next morning. The gorgeous scent also lingered on my skin, but it was quite subtle and did not mix with my perfume's scent. I think it would be a great in the summer time as a light moisturizer with a gorgeous fruity smell. I do not see the tub lasting very long as I do have to use quite a bit of product every day to moisturize my skin, which is fine given the price I suppose. A 200 ml tub will set you back £1.99 which is a bargain compared to other similar products. This product can be found in Superdrug and Morrisons stores and can also be purchased on the Superdrug website. Currently Superdrug is doing a 2 for £3.00 offer on this product and I'm considering trying some of the other ranges!

I'm going to give this product 5 stars. Even though you have to use a lot of it and it won't last very long, at a price of £1.99 per tub you can easily afford to keep buying this so I really can't fault the product. However, if the price increases I will probably knock a star off.
