Advantages: Smells gorgeous

Disadvantages: bath full of coconut, expensive

I bought a bar of this gorgeous soap for my sister a while ago, and on my last trip to Lush I couldn’t resist buying a slice for myself!

What is it?

I should Coco is a coconut scented soap, made by company Lush, which contains real pieces of desiccated coconut. It looks really gorgeous – just like a slice of coconut cake – being creamy white on the bottom, with a thick layer of hot pink desiccated coconut on the top.

Using it

The soap is very exfoliating due to the rough coconut pieces it contains. When I first went to use this, I found that it didn’t lather up very well at first, but once it’s been in water for a bit, it does produce quite a good lather. The coconut can feel quite scratchy on the skin at first, but not so much that it is painful or irritating.

The soap is quite solid, unlike some other lush soaps – Skinny dip butter bar springs to mind – which crumble in water.

You will notice the smell almost as soon as you start using this, it is a gorgeous, soft coconut smell, and it lingers on the skin for ages, and also my bathroom is filled with the scent of coconuts after using this soap.

It’s also worth pointing out that this product is made entirely from natural ingredients, and despite the fact I suffer from psoriasis and sensitive skin, I have had no reaction from using this soap.

The main negative point about this, is that if you are using it in the bath, you will find that there are loads of little coconut pieces floating in the bath water, and when you empty the bath, the plughole can get clogged up with pink coconut pieces.

This is only available from Lush shops or www.lush.com and costs £1.95 for a 100g bar or £3.90 for a 200g bar. This is fairly expensive, so it’s not something I would buy everyday, just now and again as a treat.

All in all I would definitely recommend this, despite the bath full of coconut, the smell is just so gorgeous, and it’s lovely to use. Pink xx

Summary: coconut soap

Personally I would rather spend my money on a coconut cake.
