Advantages: Nice after cream, There's hope of being smooth painlessly, Easy to apply
Disadvantages: Expensive, Left me with stubble the day after, Doesn't remove all hairs effectively
I recently bought Immac bikini line cream because i was desperate to find something that worked. It's not that i'm a hairy beast, i just prefer to have my body look that way and well.. waxing was certainly not the answer!
Mom had bought me a sugaring set for my birthday and taking a big breathe i applied it to the offending area and... RIPPPPPPPP.. i almost screamed in pain. I was actually bent over with my eyes screwed up it hurt so much. Looking at the big red patch i decided it was definitely time to buy a hair removal cream.. after all, there's got to be a less painful way then this! Hasn't there?!
Strolling into good ol' Superdrug they had a half price sale on Immac and i quickly snapped up some bikini line remover. Rushing home, it sounds kinda pervy but i couldn't wait to use it! The instructions were fairly easy to follow and i used the stopwatch on my mobile to time i didn't go over the specified 5-6 minutes. With the little green spatula provided i smoothed the cream on with the back of it and left it with a thick even layer. One thing i did notice was the smell. Why is it that all depilatory creams have to smell like mouldy cucumbers?! This one was not as strong as others i had tried but it was still there.. Bloody awful!!
As the 6 mintues approached i slowly scraped away the hairs to see the results. OH MY GOD!! Some bits were smooth and some bits had little hairs all over it. The instructions advised me not to reapply the cream until 2 days after the last application and i was slightly annoyed. The finishing cream was quite nice though. It would have been nicer if there was a scent to it to take away the cucumber one but no such luck! It was fairly hard to rub in but after five minutes of constant rubbing it finally soaked into my skin and felt quite soft.
The next morning i woke up and was quite peeved. My hair had all grown back in a mass stubble patch and because you should
only use this cream on hairs more than 1 inch long i was stuck with a beard where it shouldn't be. So far, i've managed to hide this embarrassing incident from my boyfriend.. but i warn all you out there - don't buy it!
So far I have tried Nair and this Immac one and neither have produced very good results. Im yet to find a solution that will without causing me a lot of pain! This cream was quite expensive but does go a long way, I'd guess you could probably get at least 4 applications from it. The spatula was great because it really eased application and i really didn't want to get the smelly cream on my hands!
I wouldn't not recommend this because maybe it is because i am dark haired that it didn't work well. I did follow the instructions religiously and it didn't work for me. For your money you get a funky little applicator spatula which im going to keep for future cream purchases, a 50 ml tube of depilatory cream, and a 50ml tube of after cream to help soothe and moisturise the area. (soothe?! this is completely pain free!! - actually, i did get a nasty rash the next day from the itchy stubble) Try it yourself.. i'd love to hear your comments and die in jealously of your smoothness :) Oh by the way it was about £4.50.
