Advantages: Inhibits grow back after a while, Is on offer at the mo

Disadvantages: Smelly, Bit scary for the first time, Would be expensive if £4.99

This product is a hair removing mousse in a can that looks, to the unsuspecting eye, like it should contain shaving cream. It has a near see through green cap with a small sponge in the top.

I had never heard of this product before about 2 weeks ago.

I was reading a magazine after I had had a bath. I usually use shaving to remove hair on my legs and I had done that night. I hadn't been that careful and my legs were actually quite sore. I was attracted to the advert in my magazine by the voucher for 50p off. And also that it said you didn't need to shave, which was a good point - especially as my legs were hurting at the time from shaving!

Anyway, I went to Tesco and found that it was already on offer from £4.99 to £3.74, so with my voucher I got it for £3.24. Bit of a bargain I thought to myself.

I got home and tried it. It'd been a few days since I'd actually cut the voucher out, and so I had leg hair again.

Previously I had tried the Immac cream before, but hadn't found that it actually did anything.

Anyway, this mousse is meant to be great because you just spray it on (just dont think of the CFC's) and leave it and then scrub it off with the little flimsy sponge you get free. I sprayed it on, finding it hard to start with but easier after a while and left it for 8 minutes, like it told me to. It did say wait 24 hours to test, but I wanted to try it now!

It wasn't very long before it felt like my legs were burning and the mousse looked like it was slowly bubbling away. I got quite worried, so ambled into the lounge to ask advice from family, who just told me to wait til 8 minutes and then get rid. So I did.

When 8 minutes had gone, I tried to gently massage the mousse off like the can said, but no hair came off. I read the packet again and it said if it doesn't come off immediately, leave for total time of ten minutes, but DO NOT LEAVE FOR A TOTAL TIME OF
ANY LONGER THAN 10 MINUTES.

My mind was full of the possible horrible things that could happen to me if I did - My poor legs! - They could disolve - develop big bumps - fall off! I was panicing A little more now, until I found that if you pressed really hard and scrubbed that most of the hairs did actually start to come off.

So I used this method MAKING SURE IT WASN'T ANY LONGER THAN 10 MINUTES and then it was over. I had very red legs from all the scrubbing with the sponge, but finally it was over.

The smell of this product is not nice. It smells industrial, and it didn't go away for ages and ages. It was a horrible smell, but you have to ask your self do the ends justify the means?

I used the rest of the can a couple more times over the last 2 weeks, got more used to it, and found that the grow back actually did reduce.

I went and bought some more today and I think I am getting used to it, after a slightly scary first encounter.

I have now found a orange capped version of this product which is meant to smell nice too. I think I'll buy this one next time.

Good luck everyone, and beware!

Your opinion would look better if you left a line between paragraphs. I would also like to know a few more details about the product. Otherwise, a good opinion.

I had wondered whether this actually works. I might stick to my Gilette Venus.
