Advantages: It works
Disadvantages: It hurts
Ladies, I have a question. Just one question. Just one word, actually. Why? Why do you put yourselves through this kind of pain on a regular basis? No man (or woman, if you're that way inclined) is worth the kind of pain that it takes to look hair-free, and whilst I have always preferred a smoother approach to things, after experiencing the waxing process for myself, I'm inclined to say that being hairy is the way to go! You don't need to know why. You don't need to know the reasons that led to this monumental event. I could spin you a yarn about wanting to be able to write an op for Dooyoo that I would otherwise never have written, or perhaps say that I needed surgery and had to do away with the hair "down there." It doesn't matter. What matters is that I KNOW your pain now, sisters. I've lived through it, and I will never EVER live through it again. For those who don't know what on Earth I'm blabbering on about, let me tell you. Waxing. The removal of unwanted hair, primarily for ladies who are keen to wear bikinis without having their clock springs showing to everyone, or for men, such as bodybuilders, who like to be smooth rather than hairy. Not knowing my wax strips from my warm wax, I asked for the advice of my other half, aka Mel (Miss_BooBooKitty), who recommended Immac mini wax strips to me. And they call this "love"?!! * Product name The product is now called "Veet" as opposed to Immac, which I believe is just the generic name. It doesn't make things any less painful though! The official website is supposed to be veet.co.uk, which didn't work for me, and I ended up viewing it at: http://www.homesolutionsnews.com/rbdocs/uk/veet. This site has, amongst other things, some money off vouchers for Veet products, so that you too can experience pain for a cheaper price than normal! * How to use As I've said, my reasons for trying
this out are being kept to myself, but try it, I did. The instructions ar e fairly clear: Make sure that the hair you are waxing is at least 3mm long, warm the wax (which comes sandwiched between two strips of paper) by rubbing it between your hands, peel the strips apart and then smooth one of the wax strips onto the skin in the direction of the hair growth. Then, and I am still wincing just thinking of this, IMMEDIATELY (and this is emphasised on the instructions) remove the wax strip with the other hand, very quickly, in one single action, pulling against the direction of hair growth. OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Guys, let me tell you. To try and describe how painful this is, all I can do is describe what you are doing. You are pulling lots of hair out by the roots. It hurts. A great deal. And there were blood specs too, which I really wasn't expecting. Some 24 hours later, the waxed area is still tender and red. * Value for money The product itself is easy to use, with step by step instructions as to what to do and how to do it. The pack comes with 20 wax strips and 4 moisturising wipes with which to wipe off any excess wax (and blood!) with. Each strip of wax, once peeled apart, can be used up to four time each, effectively giving you eighty goes at waxing, which should be enough for the hairiest of people! Using this product effectively rips hairs from the root, which means that the area should stay hair free for at least three weeks. For £4.69, which is the price on tesco.com, it's worth getting if you want to stay hair-free for a while, though as I've already mentioned, I'm never going near this stuff again, so will try some other way to reduce unwanted hair. My rating is 4 stars for the product, which seems to work well, though I feel it's rather expensive and very, very painful, for which I'm knocking it down a star. I'd like to be able to compare this to other w
axes, but to be perfectly honest; it's not going to happen. Ok? This has been DJBorley, from the f ront line of the war against hair, reporting for Dooyoo.
