I was just sitting here covered in a film of post-gym-sweat, eating cookies, as you do after a work out, when there was an almighty crash in the hallway. Well OK, I exaggerate, it was more of a dull thud. But I was still intruiged enough to get up and poke my head out of the living room door. There lying on the floor was a wedge of cardboard with a sample of Imperial Leather Double Bubble popping through it. Hmm, I sniffed my armpits and agreed with the letter box fairy. I needed a bath. But i wasn't sure I was going to let this purple goop anywhere near me, since most purple things seem to be the evil lavender (which smells of old ladies). Closer suspicious inspection showed this to be Passion fruit and Apricot Milk, the neighbours can rest happy, I will be washing after all...

I tucked the sample under one arm and the cookies under the other, and headed upstairs to run a big fat bath. I'm the queen of bubble bath, and although I wanted a nice hour soak, I was kind of hoping this wouldn't prove to be something else I had to invest in, because there is very little space left on the side of the bath for more bottles.

The sample bottle is like a miniature version of that you can get in the shops, split into two wiggly compartments, one filled with a white liquid, and one with a clear purple, which are supposed to combine when you pour them to produce myriad dreamy bubbles. I had trouble getting into the foil backed sample, but I expect a proper bottle might be somewhat easier to deal with. The liquids swirled round each other into the hot water, looking a bit pathetically runny, but started making lots of nice thick white bubbles. They looked quite creamy and inviting, so I was just as happy as usual to step in and wallow.

The smell was nice, very like my favourite yoghurts, and both the aroma and the bubbles lasted for the entire time I was in there (nearly an hour). My skin feels clean and soft now, and I smell slightly fruity
, which I'm sure you'll all agree is nicer than a lingering smell of stale sweat. Well, most of you will anyway, there's always a couple of weirdos.

A quick look at the Boots website informs me that 500ml of this usually retails for £2.99, which isn't bad value, I usually pay alot more than that for my bath bubbles. It also comes in three other flavours, named 'Tranquility', 'Unwind', and 'Replenish. What was mine again? Oh yes, 'Dream'. I'm not sure what difference there will be between any of these as the theme seems to be 'relax', but I assume they will be based on different fruits and smelly milks. I wasn't aware that you could milk an apricot, so it has been an education for me.

All in all, good freebie. If in the unlikely event that I run out of bubble bath in the next decade I might just remember to invest in 'Double Bubble', though the mixing liquids shennanigans are a bit gimmicky. But I won't be rushing out tomorrow to buy some, even with the 50p coupon that came with my dinky trial.

PS. Don't try the cookie eating in the bath at home, you get soggy lumps of biccy all over your boobs.
