Advantages: A nice unisex scented gel.
Disadvantages: The lid!
As mentioned in previous reviews, my household gets through a staggering amount of shower gels, so I of course thought I should share my feelings on some of our favourites.
The shower gel I will now review is - "Imperial leather - freshen up"
As with all the Imperial leather shower gel range, the bottles are clear plastic bottles, through which the liquid is visible, this particular one being green, the bottle also has the corresponding coloured lid.
As mentioned previously I have a real problem with the ids, as the design of them doesn't allow the bottle to be turned upside down to remove any remaining dregs of product, though if you have read my previous reviews you will be aware of my methods of counter acting that little problem!
As these gels are used by both sexes in my house I do try to cater to both, scent wise, this particular gel being what I would deem unisex.
The lid is flip top in design, and is perfectly easy to open, even with wet hands.
This particular gel is stated to be bergamot and thyme scented and is a bog standard gel, rather than a shower cream, you can of course tell the difference, this gel is coloured but clear, some of the creams have a pearlescent sheen to them.
The scent is very unusual, almost like that of a mans bodywash but with a slightly more earthy scent to it.
I have no idea what bergamot smells like, but the thyme is very distinctive and gives the impression of a unisex product, though I do find myself personally veering towards the more fruity scented products.
The gel is nice and thick, there is no need to use too much in one sitting as a blob around the size of a ten pence piece is ample enough to create a vast amount of bubbles, of course this can be increased dramatically if used with a body puff.
The scent as I said before is distinctive, but doesn't cling to the skin, scent wise, after showering. The gel doesn't irritate in any way, but does leave you feeling clean and fresh.
The product states that the two combined herbs are good for revitalising mind and body, I wouldn't exactly go that far, but I did feel uplifted and invigorated after showering with it.
Pricewise, these are available around the £1.30 mark, but are on an ongoing offer at Asda as part of a "4 for £3.00", which I feel is great value.
