Advantages: A refreshing invigorating way to start the day

Always on the hunt for a bargain, I picked this shower gel up in Morrisons when it was a on offer a while ago, was such a bargain that I got 2 bottles of it, knowing that Imperial Leather is a well known brand so it was likely to be of good quality.

I was intrigued by the scent, described as bitter lemon and ginger, and the promise that it would wake me up and put a spring in my step sounded great as I shower first thing in the morning and often find myself half asleep in the shower. The idea of something which would wake me up and invigorate me leaving me alert was great.

When I first tried the shower gel I was imrpessed with how it lathered up, even in the hard water of the south east. I use one of the shower puff things which helps with lather but even so, with some products getting a decent lather is quite hard, no such problems with this.

I find that some shower gels leave my skin feeling dry and sort of clammy, this left me feeling nice and clean and fresh so I was pleased with that.

Now onto the scent, which I know the other reviews described as horrible. Personally I rather liked it. I had imagined it would be a bit citrusy with a hint of ginger, which sounded nice, as i happens it smelt more like strong tea. I admit is was quite unusual and very different from the types of scent that most shower gels have, floral or sweet etc but I liked it.

I guess the big question really is, does it really wake you up and leave you feeling invigorated? I have to say, it actually does I found it worked very well indeed, it was a lovely way to start the day and when I stepped out of the showert I felt refreshed and ready to start the day, I was really rather impressed.

If I had to recommend this product I would say, yes, it's a great product but it might be worth having a sniff of it in the shop before you buy in case you don't like the smell but if you do it will wake you up nicely.
