Advantages: Widely available with a nifty lid design, Averagely priced, Comes in a variety of fragrances and doesn't sting after shaving!

Disadvantages: Some of the fragrances aren't as nice as others, Can doesn't match my bathroom (OK, I'm scraping the barrel for bad points here!!)

Impulse is not my usual brand of deodrant, but after sending the other half to the shops to get it (amongst other things) whilst I was busy having a check up from the midwife, this is what he brought home, and so, being, erm, cautious with the pennies, I decided that I may as well use it!

Impulse do what seems to be a huge range of fragranced body sprays, but my partner's particular choice was the 'Temptation' variety. When I asked him what it smelled like, he said "I dunno, I'm not the sort of person that smells deodrants in the shop before I buy them!"

Before even getting round to smelling this product, I was impressed with the design of the lid; it has a red twisty bit on it, which you turn in order to get to the spray bit, which is a sort of silvery white plastic. This might not sound like a great feature, but up to now it has foiled my toddler's attempts to pinch Mummy's body spray and squirt it all over herself, the furniture, the cat etc., so it gets a definite thumbs up from me! The rest of the 75ml can has a subtle 'dip-dyed' effect, with the colour going from red at the base to a coral pink kind of colour at the top. It doesn't exactly go with my bathroom, but I guess it doesn't really matter!! Lol.

I was a bit apprehensive as I opened the can to spray for the first time, as in the past I have bought a deodrant in a hurry only to find that it smells worse than anything my body could ever come up with, but thankfully, for my partner's sanity at least, me being pregnant and hormonal and all that, his 'lucky dip' approach was quite effective this time!

The best way I can describe the fragrance of this product is musky, although not overpoweringly so, with a slight floral tinge to it, but definitely predominantly musky! To be honest, it is not the sort I usually pick for myself, but it is subtle enough not to really bother you and I think most people could
live with it even if they didn't actually like it!

On the tin, the manufacturer, Lever Faberge, claim that "Spraying Impulse all over your body gives a cool, fresh feeling on skin and leaves you feeling revitalised, gently fresh and fragranced"...well, I am sure it is not a surprise to most of you that this is a bit over-exaggerated, as I found it no cooler than any other body spray, and I think it would take more than a can of deodrant to 'revitalise' me at the moment, although i wouldn't say it was an entirely misleading description!

Despite containing alcohol, (I have listed the ingredients below in case anyone has allergies or anything!), I didn't find that this spray stung when applied straight after shaving, nor did it bring me out in a rash, which does sometimes happen with my temperamental skin and some bodysprays!

INGREDIENTS:
Alcohol Denat., Butane, Isobutane, Propane, Parfum, Isopropyl Myristate.
I am no chemist, but I think that basically means alcohol, perfume and propellants to get it out of the can! Although there seem to be a lot of propellants in this product, it is CFC friendly as is denoted by the logo on the tin. As with all bodysprays, it is extremely flammable, so, er, don't apply in a hurry on your way to a girls night out with a fag in one hand blowing out your scented candles!

Impulse is widely available in all major supermarkets and chemists; mine was bought in a Numark chemist, and the other half says he thinks it cost £1.29 but he can't quite remember so it might be a bit more/less, although it wouldn't be more than £2.00 as I know he wouldn't pay that for a bodyspray...he has been taught well...teehee (he'll kill me if he reads this, bless him!! lol)

Anyway, that is about all the info I can think of to put about a bodyspray, I hope I have covered everything without boring you all to tears! ;)

Great op. LOL, nothing matches my bathroom. Maybe because I use stuff from Lush a lot.

Excellent op, enjoyed reading that. Impulse deodorant is ideal for young girls too, my 11 year old uses them sometimes.
