I received this Johnson's Moisturiser as a free sample which came as a cute miniature version of the bottle itself, rather than one of these sachets which can be a nightmare to open and you have to use in one shot! Instead I got the baby pink bottle we all recognise, just a lot smaller. After a bit of research I have found that a 400ml bottle can be purchased for around £3 in places such as Boots and Superdrug. This is a reasonable price as even the little bottle I got has lasted me a while.
When you first open it, you will be greeted with a light floral scent (quite different to most Johnson's Baby products). Be careful when you pour the product out though, as it was much thinner than I expected and too much came out. You just need a little bit as, because it is so thin, it spreads very easily. It feels quite silky to apply and leaves your skin in a similar state, although it doesn't dry in very quickly, so I would recommend using it just before you go to bed at night, giving it time to soak in.
Don't expect any miracles or amazing benefits from using this product (such as tighter skin etc.) as it is just your basic moisturiser. However, if this is what you're looking for I would recommend it (although the moisturisation doesn't last 24 hours in my opinion, but maybe that's just my dry skin) and feel that it is worth a shot.
I have a lot of body lotions on the go and this Johnson's 24 hour moisture extra-rich body lotion is one of them.
I only have a miniature 50ml bottle, which I think I received as part of a gift set.
~ Price and availability ~
This Johnson's 24 hour moisture extra-rich body lotion costs £3.09 for a 250ml bottle from Boots or online at boots.com. It is also available from Superdrug, Wilkinsons and from most larger supermarkets.
~ Packaging ~
It comes in a light pink coloured bottle with, 'Johnson's' written across the front in dark blue lettering.
Underneath it says, '24 hour moisture extra-rich body lotion' and claims that it is specially for dry skin and it helps stop the 3 signs of dryness.
The back of the bottle suggests that this body lotion helps to reduce skin tightness, reduce skin flakiness and refresh dull looking skin.
I think the packaging is fairly plain and it doesn't stand out too much.
~ In use ~
The body lotion is white in colour and it looks quite thick.
It has a nice scent, which is stronger than I expected. I think it is quite a citrusy scent, which is very clean and pleasant.
The body lotion feels thinner than it looks and it is easy to rub in to my skin. You don't need to use much of it. I find that a little goes a long way and my little 50ml bottle has lasted a good few uses so far.
My skin is left feeling soft and hydrated after using this body lotion.
I do find that sometimes after using this body lotion and after rubbing it in properly my skin still feels a bit sticky and my hands feel a bit greasy, which is a rather irritating.
It's not that my skin is actually sticky or damp, but it feels quite heavy and I can really feel the product on my skin, which I find quite annoying as I am constantly aware of it.
The scent of this body lotion is stronger than most other body lotions I have used. It is a pleasant scent, but I expected it to be a bit more subtle.
I think this body lotion is alright, but I have used others with more satisfactory results. The body lotion does leave my skin feeling moisturised, but there is a sticky feeling with this body lotion that I don't find with lotions by Nivea or Dove.
I think that this body lotion, being quite rich, allows my skin to feel hydrated for longer than other body lotions, but I wouldn't say it lasts for 24 hours and it doesn't last as long if I have to wash the body lotion off due to it feeling too sticky on my skin.
I don't think the extra hours of hydration are worth the heavy feeling this body lotion has on my skin.
~ Conclusion ~
I think this body lotion is alright. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated, but I find that it can leave your skin with a sticky, greasy feeling and I am constantly aware of it on my skin. I have used other body lotions that I prefer to this one.
My skin does feel hydrated for longer with this body lotion than other body lotions I have used, but I am not convinced of the claims that it provides 24 hour moisture.
I think this body lotion is reasonably priced, but I don't think I would buy it again and I wouldn't recommend it.
I have made a promise to myself (and to my purse) not to buy anymore beauty products until I have used up what I already have in my bathroom cabinet. I have no idea why, but I seem to be drawn to 'new' moisturisers even though I know that they will be sat in my cabinet unused for many months. So I am trailing through my cabinet to look at what product I can use next, besides I need to make space as I had a few beauty products as presents this Christmas.
One of my many purchases is 'Johnson's 24 hour moisture extra rich body cream' which is widely available from most supermarkets and costs around £3.00. It comes in Johnson's recognisable baby Pink bottle or a 200ml tub, which I am reviewing. I personally prefer moisturisers in tubs as you can see how much you have left and there is less wastage.
Johnson's 24 hour moisture extra rich body cream is a body moisturiser which can be used on your face and whole body. The cream is White in colour and contains Shea Butter which is renowned for it's moisturising qualities. Johnson's claim that this moisturiser will make your skin look noticeably soft. It is very light and not at all greasy. It does make my skin feel soft, but no one has ever come up to me and said "your skin looks so soft, you must be using Johnson's 24 hour moisture body cream".
Johnson's 24 hour moisture extra rich body cream, as expected, it lightly fragranced. It has a slight floral aroma to it and doesn't smell like the traditional baby/talc smelling Johnson's products. The product is just your usual 'run of the mill' moisturiser, so don't expect it to do anything fancy such as tone or firm the skin, as it doesn't do this.
The body cream is very light; it's not greasy and doesn't leave me with any spots when used as a facial moisturiser. The body cream is very easily absorbed into the skin and after applying I can dress after 5 minutes and be sure that my body doesn't feel sticky. Despite the cream being quite thin in texture this doesn't prevent your skin from feeling moisturised and soft.
When applying you will notice that when you rub a blob of it onto your skin, in particular your hands, after a few seconds the cream seems to turn to water and becomes very light (not surprisingly as the main ingredient is Aqua). At first you think that it has just evaporated but you will notice your skin feeling silky and smooth. The 'soft' feeling doesn't quite last 24 hours, but does last long enough to ensure that your skin doesn't dry out.
Overall, Johnson's 24 hour moisture extra rich body cream is a very good all over moisturiser which I recommend. Perfect if you just want a light moisturiser. It gets 4 stars from me and the only thing that lets it down is that I feel the cream needs to be a little thicker.

Another item form my vast collection of creams and moisturisers that I alternate between is Johnsons 24 Hour Moisture Extra Rich Body Lotion. Again I think I may have got this is a free sample when it first came out, but it is one I particularly like.
Johnsons Extra Rich Body Lotion comes in the typical Johnsons packaging in a curved baby pink coloured bottle. It has a clear label on the front with the name of the product written on it with the word Johnsons written in swirly blue lettering. Underneath the name is a bit of information about the product stating that it is for dry skin and is an intense formula. The back of the bottle has the same type of label with the directions of use and the ingredients written in small blue writing, although the writing is small it is clear enough to read for those who wish to check the ingredients before us. The bottle has a baby pink lid which on my bottle just pulls off, however I believe on the larger bottles there is a flip lid. The clear labels makes it look like the information is written directly onto the bottle itself.
This product claims to "turn 1 minute of moisturising into 24 hours of softness" personally I think this is true, after I have applied this product my skin is instantly smoother and softer, I have even used this on my feet in the summer to keep the skin on my heels soft and find it really does help, I do not have particularly dry skin on my feet but I do tend to walk about outside without anything on my feet and it prevents the skin from becoming too hard. I do use this product on other areas apart from my feet and again it leaves my skin feeling soothed and soft. The softnesses really does last for a long time, I wouldn't say 24 hours as written on the bottle but it certainly last several hours, you do not need to keep reapplying throughout the day. Another claim on the back of the bottle is that this moisturiser is easily absorbed, again I personally have to agree with this. It is not the fastest absorbing cream I have ever tried but it does soak into you skin reasonably quickly, and in no way does it leave your skin greasy, it does take a little extra work to rub it completely into your skin but once you have done this your skin does instantly feel soft and soothed.
This product does not have the usually fragrance that Johnson products have this has a lovely delicate flowery smell to it. When applied to your skin to your skin the fragrance is not overpowering but very subtle leaving your skin smelling fresh. The packaging recommended that this moisturisers is applied to your skin daily to keep it soft and fully moisturised.
As I said I had this product as a free sample however I do know that it can be bought from shops such as Boots, Superdrug and Tesco, the price usually between £2,50 and £3.00 depending on where you purchase it from. You can buy this moisturiser in Boots in a 200ml round tub for £2.99. Johnsons 24 Hour Moisturiser is good value for money as I personally find it long lasting, my free sample came in a 50ml bottle, I have had it several weeks now and still have 3 quarters of a bottle left so it is well worth the money.
Overall I would recommend this product, whist it is not the fastest absorbing cream I have used it does soak in reactively quickly, it leaves your skin feeling soothed and soft after use and its effect as long lasting meaning you do not need to keep reapplying throughout the day. This is a moisturiser I would consider amongst other buying in the future.
I am a body moisturising addict and have tried and tested most of the body lotions out there from experience I can say that Johnson's is rarely off the mark! This particular product of the range does not fare too bad indeed.
It is a light body lotion that gets absorbed reasonably quickly. It does not feel greasy, but the residue on your hands needs a while to go away (I wash my hands after each use). The fairly fluid texture also means an easy and aggreable application. However, you do need to wait five minutes to dry off before putting clothes on as it is not the fastes absorbing cream I have tried (not the slowest either).
Smell is ok, not too overpowering (and therefore not competing with your perfume, shampoo, shower gel, etc). Because it is similar to other Johnson's products, it can go well with a Johnson's shower gel or moisturiser for example. I am very fussy about competing smells ( migraines caused by strong smells and plain fussiness) so a subtle and complementary smell is a major plus for me.
Have used it after every shower for a couple of months and my skin isn't as dry as it usually is. However, I have not noticed much difference in smoothness or soupleness.
All in all, I will buy another brand when I finish a bottle (as is my habit) but might come back to it in a few months. The overall experience was pleasant, albeit not extraordinary, and I would recommend it for those looking for a daily light body lotion to moisturise the skin, especially if you shave your legs often.
Johnsons 24 hour moisture
I like different moisturisers and often feel that some of the more well known and less "flashy" (expensive) one work just as well if not better than some of the expensive ones. This one tells me that one minute of moisturising will give me 24 hours of softness so for someone like me who doesn't like to spend hours on a beauty regime this seems ideal.
The product has been developed especially for dry skin and is an intensive formula with a touch of oil promising to help stop the three signs of dryness: reduce skin tightness; reduce skin flakiness; refresh dull looking skin.
Sounds like just the job and at less than £2.50 for 250ml of the stuff it certainly won't break the bank.
The product itself comes in a plastic pink bottle with all of the information and instructions on the back of the bottle. When I flip up the lid and squeeze out some of the lotion I find that it is white not pink as I was expecting, like the usual Johnsons baby lotion. It does however smell slightly like the other Johnsons products although not as strong so I am not instantly reminded of small babies. The smell is slight and barely discernible but I do like it- there is almost a floral smell but not overly powerful and it doesn't clash with any perfume. I am dreadful at describing smells but the smell of this one makes me feel clean and refreshed.
The cream when I apply it to my skin is thick enough so that it doesn't fall of my hands but not so thick that it is tricky to massage into my skin. It is very easy to apply and the instructions tell m to apply it daily which I do after a bath. Immediately after application my skin feels soft and looks silky, so the initial result is just what I would expect from a moisturiser.
**So would I recommend it?**
I would definitely recommend this cream. It is very reasonably priced and does a great job of keeping my skin moisturised. The consistency is lovely- not so much a milk but more between a lotion and a cream. It is easily absorbed into my skin and leaves no greasy or sticky residue.
I am not sure if it keeps my skin moisturised for the full 24 hours but what I have noticed is that with continued daily use, my skin remains moisturised and my legs especially remain soft and smooth.
I think it would probably be ok as a moisturiser when on holiday and have noticed that even when Little Miss uses it she suffers no adverse effects so it is also good for young or sensitive skin.
A good buy.
Thanks for reading
I often buy products from the Johnsons range, as they are always fairly safe to be relied on, that is until now. I bought this moisture lotion from Asda on offer when my old lotion had run out.
I bought the 250ml bottle for around £2 which for the size I felt was great value, as it would last me a long time.
The bottle is a nice pink colour with a pink large flat lid, great for standing upside down when the bottle is nearly run out, this was another attraction when I decided to buy the lotion.
The lotion has a nice sweet almost floral fragrance to it - it actually smells quite luxurious. So far I was impressed, that was until I actually went to apply the lotion. It is so runny it's ridiculous, before I knew it I had a hand full of lotion far too much for what I needed. It just seems to pour out of the bottle and was so messy to apply.
The lotion itself is ok, nothing overly special in my opinion. My skin felt moisturised however I wouldn't necessarily agree with it being a 24-hour moisturising lotion. My skin felt hydrated and smooth to touch after immediately applying however after a couple of hours it didn't feel any different to usual. The lotion did absorb fairly quickly into my skin, which was one good thing at least.
I'm pretty sure I won't be using this lotion again (not even if I was given it for free!) as I like a thicker lotion that I actually can see is moisturising my skin and doing some good. I would recommend staying clear and choosing an alternative product.
I'm not a loyal customer when it comes to body lotion, and tend to stick with what is on offer. This body lotion was and so I bought it!! This comes in a very pink bottle, and looks much more girly than what I usually buy. It says it is for very dry skin and comes in 250ml bottle with flip top lid. The lid clicks so does not leak all over gym bag like some others do.
The product itself is quite creamy and although thick is still smooth so allows you to massage the product in quite easily and soaks into the skin evenly. It comes out quite quickly so you tend to use a lot and not a lot of this product is needed as it seems to have a bit of oil in it so quite a little goes a long way. For this reason it should last quite a long time however because of the packaging it doesn't and therefore you use a lot quite quickly so if you tend to use this product definitely stock up when offers are on.
Johnson's is a good make and so it is unlikely allergies will occur when using this product especially if you have no other issues with other products in this range. There is a lot of ingredients in this lotion and none of it looks particularly organic or natural so if you are looking for this type of product then turn away from this range.
When I used this lotion, I found that it massages in evenly, and makes my skin feel soft and well hydrated. My skin feels nice at the end of the day as well so it feel likes like it lasts all day which is good as this is what it says on the bottle!!!
This product seems to have had a lot of bad reviews, and had i read them before going out and purchasing it, i probably wouldn't have bothered. I bought this particular moisturiser above all others, because most people see Johnsons, as a brand name you can trust. I must say that I haven't had the same bad experience with the product as i am very happy with it.
The products comes in a 250ml pinkish bottle, I picked mine up at boots for £2.99, you have to squeeze it out which can be a little awkward at times, but its no real problem. The actual moisturiser i found is a little runny perhaps, but this means it is quite easy to spread, and it sinks in fairly fast. There was no real difference after the first use of the product, however i noticed that my skin was noticeably softer, and looked a lot smoother after around three days of using the moisturiser. If you suffer from dry skin, it may take a little longer to see the effects i suppose.
I think this product is pretty good value for money, and i will consider buying it again, although i like to try out different products as often a spossible to be sure that im not missing out on anything :) hehe... I would recommend this product to anyone i think, as i have quite sensitive skin and it hasn't caused me any problems, and at £2.99 its not too expensive so its worth trying it out and seeing if it works for you. :)
JOHNSONS 24 HOUR MOISTURE EXTRA RICH BODY LOTION.
I received a box of a mixture of Johnsons products from my daughter for Christmas, and one of the bottles of these was the 24 hour Moisture Extra Rich Lotion. (Body Lotion) thinking that Johnsons is a name that you can trust decided to give this product a try for a few times.
The Bottle *********
Comes in a beigy pink bottle with a pull off lid, the bottle i received as they are part of a gift set although the same product as the one shown above, just in a slightly smaller version bottle, the set contains four different bottles of this product and others, the one i am concentrating on at this present time if the Johnsons body lotion.
This is suppossed to be a moisture extra rich body lotion, so had a bath and tried this on certain parts of my body.
Smells like a Johnsons baby product, not a bad smell but not too overpowering, which i like and it claims that on the back of the bottle for one minutes application you will receive 24 hours moisture on your skin.
Did i think that this worked....personally No whilst it did put moisture on my skin, and my skin for quite a few hours did feel softer than usual, i would not be able to say that it lasts for 24 hours as i personally did not think that it did this job as well as was advertised, sorry but thats my opinion.
Whilst the smell of this product was quite fresh i have to say, it does wear off after all the product is absorbed into your skin, and i was thinking that maybe i put too much on as it seemed to take ages to rub into my skin, so i tried applying less but it still didnt seem to get absorbed into my skin quickly, enough, which it is suppossed to do.
The texture of this body lotion is quite rich and creamy but i found that it made my skin feel a bit sticky was that because it took so long to be absorbed i wonder. As this was a well thought off Christmas presant, i would not personaly want to rush out and buy this for myself, as it was a present for which i am very grateful i will continue to use this product up, as i am a great believer in not wasting any thing that has been brought for me, but will i go and buy some more, No sorry wasnt at all appealing to me and i wouldnt want to waste ages rubbing this into my skin, and it claims i found were not true, on my skin, which can be a bit on the dry side, it really didnt last the 24 hours that i had expected it to, shame but true.
I will try out the other Johnsons products i have received just because i have got them free, and they did come in a nice box that looked good, but wont to rushing out to buy anymore of this product im afraid. I am rating this with just three stars as i feel it does not warrant anymore because of the claims it makes that one miutes application of this product last a whole 24 hours, which in my case it clearly didnt.
Thanks for reading and rating my review, there is just not much else i can about this product im afraid.
As I have quite dry skin Johnson's 24 hour Moisture Extra Rich Body Lotion is one of my favorites, it is part of the Johnson's Body Care Range and is an excellent product.
It comes in a 250ml pearlalised pink bottle with a flip top. The lotion is white in colour and is rich and creamy in texture without being too creamy, if that makes sense. It is absorbed into the skin quickly and easily and doesn't leave a greasy residue on the skin as some lotions do.
My skin is generally really quite dry particularly as I swim regularly and the chlorine does have the effect of drying out my skin. So I need a moisturizer that will combat that effectively and keep my skin in tip top condition.
This body lotion claims to moisturize your skin for 24 hours, quite how this is measured I am not sure but I have to admit my skin is soft all day long, so I won't complain. The lotion also contains a drop of oil to help combat Dry skin.
I cannot recommend this product highly enough, since I have started using it my skin is now much softer and healthier and is not as dry, which is fabulous and is the exact effect I was looking for. The lotion is easy to apply has a very pleasant fragrance and is absorbed quickly into the skin. The product is appropriate for normal to dry skin and I use it all over (except my face obviously), I also use this as a hand cream as it saves me purchasing another product and it works very well on them as well.
Watch out as it is often on offer in Boots, I recently saw it for £1 on a great special.
If you have Dry skin it is certainly worth a try.
It is a pretty big claim to make for your product that it will moisturise the users skn for 24 hours from just the one application and I must say that I was sceptical to say the least however after using this product I can understand why they just might be able to make such a claim and that is because it takes an absolute age to apply the cream to your skin as it takes ages to absorb it fully you are already a couple of hours into the 24, ok maybe I exaggerate a bit but it is slow to absorb.
It is suitable for sensitive skin and is certainly an effective moisturiser from a well known and trustable company.
It is in a light pink 400ml plastic bottle with a flip lid and I paid somewhere around the £4 if I remember correctly as it was purchased a couple of months ago.
One of the things I did like about it is that it has no discrable scent that I could detect and it certainly does leave my skin feeling soft and fully moisturised and it does have a lasting effect but I still found myself using night products at the end of the day rather relying on this to work for the whole 24 hours.
The main issue is the slow absorption rate in my opinion and as such it is not a product I will buy again.
I was given this Johnson's 24 hour moisture body lotion as part of a gift set. I was actually very surprised to find that someone had put some thought into my present and bought me something that is suitable for sensitive skin - I've lost count of the number of times people have given me perfumed body lotion sets that I can't use due to my sensitive skin!
For me Johnson's is a trusted brand, one that I know I can rely on to be kind to my skin and give me the results I not only need but want as well. As a leading brand of baby and children products I know I can trust them with the wider range of their products.
The bottle in the pack I received was a 400ml bottle. Although it may be very stereotypical to say so, it is most likely to be females that use this product and I feel the packaging is aimed towards this market. It is the same basic shaped bottle that Johnson's use for many of their products, however this time it is a pale pink colour.
The bottle has a flip top lid - the lid can also be removed if you want to get the last few bits out. The writing on the bottle is very simple with only the essential information given. The blurb on the front and back of the bottle claims to fight the three signs of dryness. It claims to reduce skin tightness, reduce skin flakiness and refresh dull looking skin.
The first thing that hit me about this product was the strong floral smell; this really surprised me as Johnson's often have very light fragrances.
However after applying the moisturising it didn't appear to be as overpowering as it had initially. After application it can still be smelt, however I would describe it more as a light and pleasant one.
The lotion is a white colour and actually a lot runnier than I am used to seeing when using similar products. Because of the runny consistency when I first applied it to my skin I put far too much on and it took quite a while to fully absorb into my skin.
Once you get used to the consistency of the lotion it is easier to make sure you don't put too much on, however it does still come out of the opening very quickly!
In terms of the results I did find that it worked fairly well. It did tick the boxes in terms of reducing tightness to the skin, reducing flakiness and reducing dull looking skin. However considering it is and extra rich body lotion specifically aimed at those suffering from dry skin I wasn't overly impressed. I certainly don't feel the moisturising lasts for 24 hours as it claims to, and to keep the results against the three signs of dryness I guess I would have to apply the moisturiser several times a day.
Another issue I had with the lotion was the time it took to absorb. Even when I only put a small amount on it still felt very sticky and slimy on my skin. Whilst most of it did absorb, I was left with a layer across my skin. This is okay if I applying the moisturiser before bed, but it's not great if I want to apply it in the mornings before I get dressed.
***Price and Availability***
As I didn't buy this myself I did a bit of research for myself and was surprised to find it can cost anything up to £5.00 for a 400ml bottle. I think this is a bit pricey personally; I certainly wouldn't pay that myself!
It is available from the likes of Boots, Superdrug and all good supermarkets.
Although I will continue to use this lotion, I will not be buying another one when it runs out. I think there are a lot of better alternatives out there, many available at a cheaper price also.
It has its good points such as being moisturising; however the bad points include the lack of absorption and the need to reapply the lotion.
Thank you for reading, this review will also appear on ciao under the same username.
I am a fan of Johnson's products but am afraid this just isn't the best one I've tried. I do have a tendency to have quite a collection of moisturises, lotions and potions at any one time. I don't have particularly dry skin, but it is quite sensitive which makes me picky about what I put on it. Often, I see something recommended in a magazine and it winds up taking space in my bathroom. Perhaps it's time to clear out some space or this bottle of lotion may outlive me!
As shown in the picture above Johnson's 24hour Moisture Extra-Rich Body Lotion comes in a pink bottle with a flat flip lid. This design is great for lotions that need to be stored upside down in order to get the remaining goodness out of the bottom. However, the fairly runny consistency of this lotion makes it unnecessary! In fact, silly me decided that it was only fair to give the lotion another go before writing this and managed to drizzle lotion on my laptop. Think I may be reviewing laptop cleaners next! I found the lotion entirely too runny which led to incidents of body lotion on bathroom floors, clothing etc. I like my moisturiser to feel a little luxurious and I'm afraid this reminded me of the sunscreen my mother used to apply to us when we were little. You know, the sunscreen that had been sitting out in the sun and so closely resembled melted ice cream?
Having picked on the lotion I will say that it dries quite quickly if the slightest bit sticky. It does in fact hydrate well though I always wind up drying my hands out even further washing it off of them after application. The smell is light, as with every Johnson's product I've ever tried. I can't really comment on how long it would last with regular use. I've had my 250 ml bottle for longer than I can remember and I'm afraid today is its last day in my house.
Occasionally I do suffer with dry skin on my body. As a rule however my skin is quite combination and I do suffer badly with greasy patches and me, well I do use a lot of different lotions and potions on my skin and my skin takes so much of it all and then hits out in defiance at being slapped with all sorts and decides to wage a protest on me. This week my skin felt rubbish and that's putting it lightly! I've had dry skin all over my cellulite which makes it look worse and my back, chest and shins are greasy as hell even when I haven't used any rich and scented bath and/or body products. My chest has a couple of blackheads and spots and most of my skin feels tight.
Yes I'm bathing more in this weather opposed to usual showering. Yes I have been using more body sprays and fragrances and that sort of thing cos I was going out more and it all seems to have disrupted my natural skin oils in some way. So I knew last week that it was time to calm my skin routine down a bit once again and I've packed away all my usual delights and bought some more simple products for the time being to try get my skin feeling more normal. However I'm not the type of person who can go without using anything on my skin and although by not using anything my greasy skin may dry up I'm not willing to continue wearing dry skin that feels uncomfortable to be in. So I stocked up on some Johnson's bath and body products when I was in boots. I trust them is the bottom line and I got this just to apply on my dry skin and not to slap everywhere! There are areas on my body I need the 'Extra Rich' promise and of course due to it being promised at being rich I need to avoid some areas at the moment!
It comes in a 400ml light pink pearly bottle with a flip top lid to the top of it. On the front in dark blue and light pink writing I'm told it's Johnson's 24Hour Moisture, Extra-Rich Body Lotion which is specially for dry skin and is an intense formula. I'm then told 'Turn 1 minute moisturising into 24 hours of softness' and there is a bright yellow swirl pattern on there and at the bottom of the bottle I'm told it's a Johnson & Johnson product. On the back of the bottle I'm told a bit about the product, ingredients are listed, there is a bar-code on there, the recycle symbol is displayed, size is once again stated and contact details for Johnson and Johnson are given. All in all it's a nice enough bottle but I did have this product a long time ago (I didn't realise when I bought it as I buy so many different products lol) and the lotion clogged up at the top if I forgot to wipe it properly after using it and the flip top lid I was a bit heavy handed with and it snapped off in my hand resulting in it getting thrown away as I don't like my products to look scruffy so you simply have to remember to clean off the top after each use and to be flipping gentle with it!
A Bit About The Product (According To The Back Of The Bottle)....
Johnson's 24 hour moisture extra-rich lotion is so easy to apply and quick to absorb, it's proven to turn 1 minute of moisturising into 24hours of softness. Specially designed for dry skin, the creamy texture combines naturals moisturisers and skin conditioners. Apply everyday for noticably softer, smoother skin.
My Experience With The Product....
Well the lotion is just that really. White and quite greasy looking it's white with a delicate smell of flowers and a slight nice sweetness. It isn't heavily fragranced and once it's applied although it leaves a slight, fresh smell on the skin it loses that smell quite a bit though I would say this is really for the men to use as it does leave a hint of smell on the skin that is sweet!
A little really does go a long way with this product and as I anticipated I wouldn't use this unless areas of my skin need it cos although it's quite a thin consistency it's richly greasy which of course is great for dry skin and economical to use also.
It does dry in within a minute or so and this really is quite a fuss free product to use. It goes on smooth, gives you time to gently sweep where you want it and bang it is absorbed almost immediately meaning that you can dress quickly after application so no more waving your body around like a mad thing waiting for it all to dry in and although it goes on greasy as I said it leaves skin with that sort of feeling but doesn't transfer off on to clothes or anywhere. The only thing you do get is the smell on your clothes which for me I love!
All In All....
Easy and fuss free to apply and the smell is lovely, fresh and clean. However instead of my skin feeling moisturised for 24 hours I can feel a moist feeling within my skin in the form of a 'film' that is on my skin making me feel a bit grubby really. You do get used to this feeling with regular use but as I pointed out earlier I only want to use this as and when my body requires it so I only use this occasionally.
Does it work at hydrating skin 24 hours? Yes, I think it probably does. It does smooth and soften the skin but again like I said not really in my view in a natural way and skin looks no different and doesn't feel all that soft. I feel a bit clammy (although to be fair not sticky) until I wash it off which happens easily enough.
Do I think it's the best body lotion for dry skin? No I don't. The only saving graces this has is the fragrance and that if I want to I can apply it all over my body as it really isn't as rich a formula as promised so it doesn't upset my greasy skin in any way shape or form, just apply it everywhere if you want to. All in all if you have very dry skin then I don't think this really is for you as it doesn't achieve much at all. It sits on skin and feels odd and I get softer skin results with a lot of cheaper body lotions I use. I don't really think this is worth it's £4.99 price tag to be honest.
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists but not recommended from me. it just isn't all that!
