Advantages: Moisturises well and good value
Disadvantages: Not sure it could cope with very dry skin
I always tend to choose whatever shower gel or wash is on offer when I need a new bottle. The lucky candidate this time was Johnsons 24 Hour moisture extra-rich bodywash. It was on offer in boots for £1.24 for a 400 ml bottle which I thought was very good value. I quite like Johnsons products as I tend to find them good quality. Their moisturisers also tend to be fairly good when I have used them previously. I have used other products in the bodywash range but not this particular product before. This one appealed to me as it says it is 'specially for dry skin', which is a problem that I suffer with. I am hoping that by using this product it will help me a bit with this problem.
The range of products come in similar bottles with just the front label signifying the difference. The bottle is white with a pink lid so you can easilly tell that it is a Johnsons product. It also has the logo on the front, so you know you are going for a well known brand. There is a yellow pattern down the side that also corresponds with a box around 'specially for dry skin', so you know what type of skin the product is for. It also states that it 'will turn your shower into 24 hours of softness'. The bottle size that I purchased was 400 ml so is quite a large bottle. On the back of the bottle is the ingredients of the product. There is also some suggestions of how the product can help with skin tightness, flakiness and refresh dull looking skin. It also says you should use it everyday for 'noticeably soft, smooth skin'.
I used this product in the shower as it is suggested. I always tend to wash my body while I have the conditioner in my hair so that I have time for this to work. I use the lotion all over my body and I also use it to shave my legs with as I think a lot of shaving gels and lotions are a waste of time. The product was easy to dispense. It has a simple flip lid on the top and then you can just squeeze the product out onto your hand. The liquid came out quite thick, which i like as I always feel it will be a better moisteriser. It is aso white sort of colour as you would expect from this sort of product. With it being quite thick you also tend to waste less. With some shower gels it is so runny that i lose half before I even start to apply it.
I personally apply the product with my hands but I can imagine it would also work well with a flannel or puff. I found the feeling of the product nice on my skin. It felt cool and as if it would provide some kind of moisture. I also found the product good for shaving my legs as it stayed on my legs long enough to be able to use it in this way. My legs also felt really smooth after I had used it. When using the product it is an easy to use product that does what it should.
The after effects of the profuct are fairly good. I didn't feel too much of a need to add extra moisturiser after my shower, which was a positive. My skin isn't too dry generally at the moment though so this may help. I am not sure how the product would be for me in the winter when i tend to get very dry skin. I didn't find it astoundingly good and I am not sure the effects do last 24 hours. I normally have been through quite a lot in that time especially with walking around and tube rides etc. Despite this it is still a good product and it does help moisturise the skin. I also think it was very good value for £1.24 and for that price it certainly is worth buying.
Overall a good moisturising body wash that provides good value for money.
