The ingredients are Aqua, Paraffinum Liquidum, Glycerin, PEG-75 Lanolin, Elaeis Guineensis Oil, Gossypium Herbaceum Flower Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Isohexadecane, Cetyl Alcohol, Lactic Acid, Sodium PCA, Propylene Glycol, Ceteareth-6, Stearyl Alcohol, Carbomer, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Hydroxide, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Propylparaben and Parfum.
So I use the cream very much. The smell is really very fresh and it is really very pleasant. But the smell is not too intrusive and vanishes after some time again. The cream absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy film that I personally find very beautiful. Although my friend now and then massaged my shoulders, then the cream is already good. For the care, well. My skin is moisturized and feels good after the lotion on. However, nursing does not last forever and miracles can not be expected here. For the price, but perfectly OK. When compatibility but I can forgive a very good, I had so far no problems. The body lotion is liquid and can be spread by simply and quickly absorbed. Due to the large opening one must watch out that not too much body lotion comes out of the bottle. After application, the product does not leave a greasy film and does not stick. The skin then feels clean and soft.
If you want soft skin and the ability to get a good’s night rest at the same time, then look no further than Johnson’s Dreamy Skin Body Lotion. I thought this was just some mad advertising ploy at first – cream that softens your skin and makes you get a good night’s rest at the same time sounded too good to be true to me – however, ever time I have used this before bed, I swear I get a better night’s rest. It may be just coincidence, but I don’t think so.
I used to buy this in a little round pale lilac tub but they stopped making it and changed the packaging into one of those pale lilac bottles you can get now. I personally don’t think it looks so pretty, but it still does the same ob at the end of the day.
The cream itself is quite thick – I was surprised the first tiem I trued it. It smells divine. It is very luxurious to feel and the cream simply melts into the skin as soon as it is applied. This is a very feminine scent and my hubby says he adores the smell whenever I use it just before I get between the sheets.
You don’t need to use very much of this as it goes a long way. It us rich and creamy and it makes my skin feel super smooth and soft when I wake up the following day. It is also a very good base for using under a fake tanning lotion because not only doe sit prepare dry skin for the application of the fake tanning product, but it actually manages to eradicate the horrible fake tan smell at the same time.
It is only £1.99 in Tescos for a large bottle and I really do recommend it highly.
As you may know I love all my lotions and potions and I'm constantly on the lookout for something new to try that won't irritate my skin, that's why I love johnson's as it's always soft on my skin and smells absolutely divine! So when I saw this on the shelves I promptly popped it in my basket and raced to the tills.
I bought the 250ml tub at my local supermarket for about £3.00, it was packaged in a calming lilac with johnson's label in a dark blue. It has a screw top lid that's easy to use and doesn't stick when opened.
This product to say simply is fab, I love using it after a long hot bath, the cream itself is the same colour as the tub a calming lilac and is thick in consistency but not sticky and leaves your skin feeling silky, smooth and refreshed. The smell is a lovely moonflower which is supposed to be helpful with sleep, it's not overpowering but subtle and relaxing.
I can honestly not find any cons with this product, it is reasonably priced, the packaging works well, and the cream is lovely on your skin.
Absolutely great product that lasts for ages and ages as you don't need to use a lot on your skin to make it smooth and feeling great. The smell lasts and it never gets sticky or irritates. Definitely a fab addition to anybodies potion cabinet.
If you read my reviews you are probably aware that I love my shower gels and body lotions and creams. Moisturising my body is a very important part of my beauty regime and I moisturise daily after my shower. I'm always on the lookout for new and interesting products so when I saw this body cream on offer I couldn't resist trying it out.
Johnson's is a brand that is well known for its baby products, but it also produces bodycare and skincare products. Their dreamy skin range consists of a body cream, a body wash, a facial moisturiser and facial wipes.
The body cream comes in a lilac tub. When you first unscrew the lid, you will see a silver foil seal which is easily peeled back. Printed on the lid are the Johnson's logo and the name of the product. The colour of the tub really is very feminine and pretty, and I would say that it would appeal more to females than males.
The body cream
The body cream is meant to be used at night before you sleep which is perfect for me as I shower at night. Its moonflower aroma is meant to help you relax, and thus help you drift off and sleep better. The body cream is pale lilac in colour and looks a little thick but is easy to apply to skin. It doesn't sit on my skin leaving it feeling greasy. Instead it is easily absorbed but leaves my skin feeling moisturised and soft. I don't need to use too much of the cream to get this moisturising effect so the tub will last for a month-6 weeks. The scent is a lovely, delicate floral scent that isn't sickly sweet or overpowering. At the same time, it is a strong scent and I can smell it when I get into bed and it really does make me feel very calm and relaxed. My skin feels soft the next morning, and for the rest of the day so I don't need to reapply the cream.
To avoid disappointment you should note that the cream isn't meant to help you go to sleep directly-it is meant to help you relax and that is meant to help you drift off.
Price and Availability
The body cream can be found in most supermarkets and pharmacies and retails around the £3 mark. I bought my 250 ml tub from Superdrug for £1.50-bargain! I would recommend you look around for an offer as there is often one to be found.
Do I recommend this?
Absolutely. The scent is very soothing and definitely does help me relax, which helps me sleep. The body cream is quite hydrating and the hydrating effect lasted for a good 24 hours so this was a great buy and only cost me £1.50. The body cream is just as good as other, more expensive creams I have used-five stars from me!

If you've read some of my previous reviews you shall know that I love my body lotions, butters and creams. For me there is nothing more relaxing than having a nice hot bath followed by a nice rub down with some moisturising creams. I apply body creams everyday and sometime twice a day if I'm fond of the scent.
My little dilemma is that I'm having problems sleeping again if it's not my knee playing up, it's my mind keeping me awake and I don't know why as I'm not worried of anything. So I've been on the hunt for some products that will have a calming and relaxing influence for setting me off to sleep.
Johnson's Dreamy Skin - Relaxing Body Cream 250ml:
'To use with your nightly routine, to help calm your senses for a better sleep'
It Claims - This rich, velvety soft formula, will leave your skin wonderfully soft and supple, and with its regenerative formula with nourishing vitamins and moisturisers, helps skin renewal while you sleep.
A few weeks ago now when browsing the body creams I spotted that the Dreamy Skin was on offer for only £2.00, not one to turn down an offer I popped it into my basket!
After my bath and drying myself off it was time to put this to the test; I opened the tube pealed back the sliver foil and the aromas started lifting from the tube. It was a gorgeous aroma of moonflower it wasn't over powering in anyway but strong enough to linger around the room while applying to your skin.
The cream is a very pale lilac colour extremely soft, smooth to touch as if it had been air whipped. It's a little thick but that's not a bad thing in this case. It glides over the skin with ease again feeling rather soft and luxurious, what I like about this is that it doesn't sit on your skin making it feel greasy/oily it soaks into your skin quite quickly and leave it feeling nourished, fresh and moisturised.
This 250ml tub last's me around three weeks using this every night after my bath so for £2.00/£2.29 depending how much you purchase this for its great value for money.
Not only does this come in a cream form to moisturise your skin, you can also buy the matching creamy bath gel and bodywash which is on my list to try!
Price and Availability:
I purchased mine while it was on offer for only £2.00 at my local Tesco's, it can be purchased in a bottle or tub. At the time they didn't have the bottle only the tub, however I would have gone for the tub anyway.
It can be purchased in most supermarkets and chemists with prices starting from £2.29, once I did see this in my 99p store where I stocked up with a couple of tubs but I've never seen them in since.
The packaging is simple yet pretty and more on the feminine side being more appropriate for a woman or a girl. Its has two tones of lilac as you can see from the picture above, the writing on the back of the tub however is very small and some people would certainly be needing their glasses or magnifier to see the small script.
Johnson's is not just for the kids!
This is a product that has become a must in my nightly routine, I have problems with both knees which makes relaxing very tricky one thing that helps me to relax is a hot bath and I have now found a product to use after my bath which leaves me feeling relaxed for longer and my skin feeling great. What more could I ask?
This product aims to help you relax and make it easier for you to drop off to sleep with its 'aromasoothe with moonflower' properties. At first I thought to myself I'll give it a try but I bet it wouldn't work, well I'm glad to say I was wrong as it does leave u feeling relaxed making it easier for you to drift off.
I would certainly recommend giving this Dreamy Skin a go, it does what it claims and leaves skin feeling dreamy smooth even lasting on your skin a good 24hours.
And what's even better is getting someone to rub/massage the cream in for you; in my case it is my partner that is my masseuse hehe
Five out of five from me!
Thanks for reading :o)

I thought that Johnson's and Johnson's was just aimed at the baby products but reading up they do a range for the whole family, shows how much attention I've been paying!

I bought this after seeing it in a magazine, the thing that first drew me to the product was the photo as you can see as it is a lovely lilac colour and it just looked so creamy I had to buy...because I seriously am a sucker for pretty things...even when it comes to the colour of my moisturizer?! As well as being very highly reviewd! I bought a big pot (250ml) but I always feel I get my moneys worth with tubs as you can see when it's all gone rather than trying to squirt the last bits out for days! The pots cost £2.99 from Superdrug however I have actually seen it in the pound shop so if you can go grab a bargain!!! You can also buy this in a squeezy bottle for the same price if you prefer.
The product itself is very smooth and creamy, just gorgeous, and the smell is great! It has the scent of 'Moonflower which is known for it's relaxing properties' however I can also smell a hint of lavender (which is my favourite!) it claims to 'calm your senses for a better sleep' I put this on after showering and it really is such a soothing clean feel leaving your skin silky soft. It is quite a thick moisturizer which is why it is intended as a night cream rather than one for daytime use, I would highly recommend the standard Johnson's cream for the daytime though!
I used this once coming back from a holiday and I think it has seriously prolonged my tan which makes me very happy as well as nice smooth legs!
You can also get a nice pack from Lloyds pharmacy for £9.99 or chemists direct for £5.99, this includes:
Dreamy Skin Extracare Bath 250ml
*Johnson's Dreamy Skin Body Lotion 250ml
*Johnson's Lipcare Mooncare 4.9g
*Johnson's Dreamy Skin Facial Nigh Cream 50ml.
Which I think I may have to buy as it just looks dreamy!!!
Anyway overall I would definitely recommend this product for a great nights sleep and silky smooth skin!
Any questions please contact me :)
I first tried this product, Johnson's Dreamy Skin Body Lotion (in the bottle), during a holiday in April 2009. My mum had brought it along with her and desperate to use something on my dry skin I had asked her if I could borrow it. I have always loved using the original Johnson's Baby Lotion on my skin, especially during holidays, and knowing how brilliant this was on my skin I was a little bit reluctant to use this new product but excited at the same time. I couldn't really understand why my mum had gone for this over the original - but I guess brilliant things come to us unexpectedly don't they?
I used this all over my body, and the immediate thing that hit me was the scent. That gorgeous moonflower scent! It was one of the nicest things I have ever smelt! Well, after liking the smell it is fair to say I slathered it all over my body without a moments hesitation. It is a lovely light moisturiser, a lot lighter than the original baby lotion I think. It sank in incredibly quickly, but left my skin feeling gloriously soft and the scent lingered for hours. It is very sweet but subtle, and I can see how it has a calming aroma. It smells so lovely it does immediately relax you.
Well, since 2009 this lotion has got me through many an accidental-sunburnt holiday, and has also served as a lovely night time moisturiser back at home too. It lasts for ages as a little bit goes a long way, and for £2.99 I think it is great value. I would recommend this product for anyone in search for a light, relaxing moisturiser, and will definitely be buying it (over and over) again.
(My review is for the bottle in the picture, not the tub)
I started using Dreamy Skin body lotion when I was pregnant, and I loved the smell so much that I just keep on buying it!
The cream is designed for use before bed and is supposed to aid sleep - in fact the front of the bottle declares: "Prepare to sleep and awaken to beautiful skin". The lotion contains moonflower which is known to have relaxing properties, according to the packaging. An additional bit of research tells me that moonflowers are so-called because they bloom at night with large pink or white flowers, before closing when the sun comes up.
The bottle is 250ml and is a pretty pale lilac colour with simple lettering and a flower graphic. The top of the lid is flat which means you can turn it upside-down to get the final dregs of lotion out - I don't know if this is why the manufacturers designed it this way, but it's certainly very helpful and saves lots of digging around to get the last drops out of the bottle.
The cream itself is also a very pale lilac colour and you can immediately smell the gorgeous scent of the cream when you squeeze some out. The lotion is satiny soft and sinks into the skin instantly, leaving you feeling soft and moisturised.
It is very hard to describe the smell of this product but it is soothing and relaxing - not overpowering. It does remind me of a slightly stronger version of Johnson's baby products. I use the cream before bed and the scent still lingers slightly in the morning.
I can't vouch for the suggestions that this will help you sleep. However, I find it a very relaxing product to use before bed and my husband likes the smell too! I use this lotion a lot and intend to stock up again once my current bottle runs out.
This lotion also comes in a thicker, cream format in a 250ml tub. You can also get face wipes, bubble bath and face cream in the same range.
This lotion costs around £3 from the usual shops, but do look out for special offers!
Johnson's is part of the Johnson and Johnson brand. They are known for selling baby skin products. They also offer a range of beauty products for adullts.
Here we have the Johnson's Relaxing Body Lotion from the Dreamy Skin range.
This body lotion has been designed to be used a night time. The soothing scent of Moonflower has been blended into the lotion to help you calm your body and mind before sleep. The body lotion is enriched with vitamins to soften the skin and wake up to beautiful skin.
The body lotion comes in a tall, lilac plastic bottle with a flip cap lid. The bottle is curved for easy handling. The writing on the bottle is a purple shade and contrasts well with the lilac background.
On the front you will see the Johnson's logo and product name. On the back there is the product blurb, how to use, ingredients and contact details for the company.
The bottle can be recycled once finished and should be used within 12months of opening.
Johnson's recommend that you use this as part of your night time routine. Simply flip open the cap and squeeze a small amount through the hole and gently massage onto skin. Jump into bed and drift off counting sheep BAAAAAHHHH!
*Availability and Price*
I picked this up on the clearance shelves in Boots a few months ago for 74p. I have checked various sites and cannot find it so it may have been discontinued. Ebay is likely to have it. It comes in a 250ml bottle.
There is also a matching Body Cream, Moisturiser, Face Wipes and Bath Cream available.
I trust the Johnson's brand as I often use it on my son so when I spotted this at 74p I was delighted. I recognised the lilac bottle as I had previously used the moisturiser in the same range and I loved the scent so I had to try this. I also have the bath stuff in the range too!
So this is designed to help calm you before bedtime. I personally have used it during the day too. I mostly use this after one of my rare night time baths. Having sensitive skin, I need to be careful with sensitive products but I did not have any reaction to this body lotion.
The lilac colour alone is very soothing to me and the flip top lid makes dispensing simple and mess-free! The lotion comes out fast and is quite thick. It is a gentle lilac colour and is cool and soothing when applied to skin. I use this after drying myself.
The lotion is lovely to massage in. The scent is beautiful and sweet but in a light way which is perfect as you don't want sickly sweet just before bed. It is like a sweet, delicate flowers and is kind on the nose and is in no way overpowering.
I feel the lotion takes a while to sink fully in. It visibly disappears quickly but leaves a sort of film on the skin. Being designed for night time use, I feel this was intentional so that the lotion gradually seeps into the skin overnight for maximum moisturisation. I therefore use this when wearing short pyjamas as I feel long ones would stick to my skin which I hate!
Lying in bed, the delicate aroma sweeps around and is beautiful to smell and hubby commented that I smelled nice. I did drift off quite quick as I felt soothed and relaxed but I do feel that the hot bath contributed aswell as the body lotion.
Johnson's advise you should wake up in the morning with beautiful soft skin. I have quite rough skin on my arms and have noticed an improvement. The lotion had seeped in and no residue or scent was evident in the morning. It didn't just happen overnight but with pro longed use, my skin has been feeling softer in the mornings.
I use mine once a week and usually on a Friday night when my son stays at his grans. That way I can relax properly. You do only need a small blob of lotion as all though it is thick, it spreads very well. I just wish they would bring it back. I might try Home Bargains or B&Ms!
Thanks for reading!
Before my weekend away Ive been picking up loads of products to take along with me so I dont have to take my "proper" products and body lotion was one of the must have things I needed. I know Im only going for a weekend but I moisturise daily so I cant go a whole weekend without doing so and I didnt want to take a big tub of Bodyshop Body Butter so when I was in town I picked up this "Johnsons Dreamy Skin Lotion" to take with me. I didnt even realise when I picked this up that this is basically the Johnsons Baby Bedtime Lotion but for adults! I was dead chuffed when I smelt it and figured that out I can tell you.
Ive just looked online and found out that a 250ml bottle of this lotion usually retails at around £3 but that is ridiculous considering they sell it in Pounland so have a look there before you shell out £3 or more for this. Theres no need to pay more for it really. This lotion is not only said to give you super soft and smooth skin but its meant to help you relax and overall get a better nights kip. I go through phases when I find it really difficult to sleep especially in the summer so this really sounds in theory like my perfect body lotion.
The cream not only does that but it smells super nice whether or not that is the "moonflower" I dont know but this smells more fruity to me with a hint of lavender which is also meant to help you sleep and the scent stays on your skin for at least 24 hours afterwards but doesnt interfere with any perfume you might be wearing so thats really good for me. The scent isnt overpowering at all just really subtle and light - it smell beautiful so no wonder it helps you sleep better.
Im not sure that this helps me get to sleep but it definately relaxes me before bed so I guess in a way it does help you unwind after a hard day. Having said that whever I apply this I always have a great nights sleep but Im not sure whether it has a placebo effect more than anything else - but if it works I dont care how it does it to be honest. Not only that but it leaves my skin feeling super soft, smooth and hydrated so this is overall a really great product. I even recommend it to people who arent looking for help sleeping and just want a cheap body lotion because it is great for that as well - whether or not it helps me sleep....well Im undecided on that one.
I have ended up using my whole bottle of this already but Ill definately be going to stock up on some more as this has become part of my routine now and at £1 a time you really cant complain. Highly recommended.

*~* PRODUCT INFORMATION *~*
Johnson's dreamy skin body lotion comes in a 250ml bottle that is lavender in colour. I am assuming that this is to keep in with the whole "sleepy" theme of the product. I picked this lotion up in my local Poundland last month, so I would recommend that you look in there first before paying the £3 odd that this product roughly retails for in supermarkets.
This lotion promises to leave you with super soft skin and is designed to prepare the body for a good night's sleep by producing a calming and relaxing effect. It is infused with moonflower to help aid this process, as this fragrance is renowned for its calming attributes.
*~* MY OPINION *~*
I was a little sceptical of this lotion initially, as in the past I have been lulled into buying sleep enhancing products before, namely Avon's sleep therapy range through false promises of a better night's kip and on every occasion I have been spectacularly let down. After using these products I noticed absolutely no difference whatsoever with regards to the quality of my sleep.
Therefore, I was very surprised with the results after using Johnson's dreamy skin body lotion. Immediately after massaging the cream into my shoulders I felt more relaxed, calm and on the whole sleepy. The following morning I thought that I had achieved a good night's sleep. Often I suffer from very extreme nightmares - sometimes this can be up to two or three times a night - and on the night that I first used this lotion I had an undisturbed sleep.
Perhaps, this was a 'placebo' so to speak and that the reason my sleep was so calm in comparison to previous nights was down to the fact that I desired a peaceful night's rest. Nonetheless, on every occasion that I have used this product since, I generally feel that I have had a really nice sleep. In my view, this product helps me to unwind and relax and it also smells divine which is a further advantage.
Additionally, not only did I feel that it worked in respect of improving my quality of sleep, but each time I have used this lotion, my skin has been left extremely soft, smooth and smelling gorgeous. I have found this lotion to be much more effective than other body lotions that I have tried before in terms of moisturising my skin, and the fact that it helps me to relax and sleep better is an added bonus.
*~* OVERALL *~*
Since first discovering this product last month it has now become an essential part of my nightly routine and I definitely could not be without it now. The moisturising effect of the lotion is top quality and achieves results where other brands fail. Moreover, it really just helps me to unwind and soothes any aches that I may have from a hard day's work.
At approximately £3 for a bottle, this product is very reasonably priced. However, if you can get it in Poundland like I did, then it is a fantastic bargain and definitely worth the meagre price. I have had my bottle for over a month now and there is still over half of it left and I use it almost on a daily basis.
If you often find it difficult to get a good night's sleep, then I would highly recommend that you give this product a go. In my honest opinion, I believe that it truly helps in this department, unlike many other products and I am convinced that if you give it a try, you too will not be disappointed.
Overall, I award this body lotion 5 doo yoo stars!
I have been using the Johnsons Dreamy Skin 3 in 1 Facial Wipes for the last month or so and have become completely addicted to them. I have always really rated the Johnsons facial wipes but only ever bought them when they were on special offer. The Dreamy Skin ones were on a half price special offer in Sainsbury's last month and this prompted me to give them a go.
Up until this point I was completely unaware of the Dreamy Skin range and to be honest I don't think I would have been tempted to try it unless it was reduced. I wasn't all that convinced about the claims that it would relax me into good night's sleep but I was happy to try them at the reduced cost.
Anyway I feel in love with the wipes, I found the smell of them to be absolutely divine. The aroma of the moonflower, which I had never heard of previously was absolutely gorgeous and I began to look forward to using them as part of my evening skincare regime.
This gorgeous aroma made me interested in trying some of the other products in the range and I decided to try the Johnson's Dreamy Skin Body Lotion. I picked a 250ml tub of the lotion from Superdrug and I believe it cost about £2.99. The whole range is packaged in a lilac colour and can usually be found alongside the other Johnsons skincare products. It is not all that easily available however, my local Boot's doesn't stock the Dreamy range and I can't pick it up from my local Tesco's. I have always managed to find it in good old Superdrug though.
Later that evening I had a bath before bed and decided to give my new cream a go. I applied the cream to my skin and was delighted by how well it absorbed into my skin. It didn't feel at all greasy and left my feeling soft, silky and hydrated. The only downside for me was that the aroma just wasn't quite what I was expecting. It just didn't smell like the wipes, there was a similarity but I found the lotion to be a little too strong and quite heady.
As I went to bed, I was still quite conscious of the aroma but it was a little too overpowering for me. It is very distinctive but I found myself wishing that it was a little more subtle.
So to sum up... I had great hopes for this product but it just didn't live up to the promise of the wipes. The lotion itself is lovely but the aroma is just that bit to strong and ends up being a little overpowering.
This is a lovely, gorgeous smelling moisturiser, perfect to use after a stressful day when you want relaxation and pampering. It's suitable for use on dry skin, and leaves your skin noticeably softer. It smells really luxurious, and is even though I use it as a treat, it's quite cheap, around £3 or £4 for the tub.
The product comes in a small round tub, which is light lilac in colour. The product itself is a very light lilac cream, and smells very strongly, which I usually do not like, but the smell of this product is so gorgeous, I don't mind! The lid says it smells like 'aromasoothe and moonflower'; I don't know what they are, but they sure smell good!
So I use the product after a nice hot bath, then apply whilst my skin is still a little damp. The moisturiser goes on smoothly, and is absorbed quickly, so you don't need to rub it in for ages. You don't need to use a whole lot either, I can apply what feels like liberal amounts to my entire body, and the contents of the tub don't look too depleted.
When I wake the morning after using this product, my skin does feel noticeably softer than it usually does, and is still carrying the scent of the product slightly! My skin is fairly dry as well, so for a heavily scented cream to not only not irritate it, but also to do very well in making it soft quite surprised me.
I can't recommend this product enough. I like using it as a treat, just because when I've had a stressul, tiring day I like something that feels special to chill me out a bit, but this cream could be used regularly. The smell of this product really does help relax me, and gets me ready for a nice bit of sleep! So if you'd like something to relax, pamper, and well moisturise you and your skin, I'd highyl recommend this product.
Some time ago, I was with my mum when she was using Johnson's Dreamy Skin Body Cream, and I made a comment about how nice the smell was. Mum said that if I liked it, I could have it, as she'd only use it a couple of times and was finding the smell was actually giving her a headache. I couldn't see how it could be, as it smelled so lovely, so I said thank you very much and went on my merry way with an almost full tub of body cream. Yay!
The cream I have comes in a round screw top plastic tub of 250ml. The packaging claims that that the cream is "enriched with Moonflower aroma" and that when used as part of your nightly routine, the product "helps to calm your senses for better sleep" and you will "awaken to beautiful skin". The cream itself has a very thick luxurious texture and is pale lilac with a lovely shimmery appearance. I found the body cream nice to use, although I did notice that before it properly soaks in it can feel a little sticky. Having said that, it did indeed leave my skin feeling much softer.
Sadly though, after having used this body cream a few times, I did have to concede that mum was right about the smell. For me, the scent is far too strong and after a while I began to find it very sickly sweet, which is a shame. I did make an effort to finish the tub, as I don't like to be wasteful, but it's not a product I would buy in the future.
On wandering around my local Superdrug store recently - on a mission to just buy some sort of indigestion remedy and a bottle of calpol, I was NOT going to be swayed into buying anything else that I didn't need.
I would look around all the isles as I normally do, then I would calmly walk up to the till with my two intended items.
It was working out fine and my basket indeed only had the two required items in. Then I came to the end of the isle right in front of the till.
There in front of me was a large display of Johnsons's 'Dreamy skin' body lotions and creams.
Ooh that looks nice I thought!
I tried to walk past but the sign above the display was too much - Half price.
It was too much of a weakness and I picked up first the lotion. It smelt divine but after checking the consistency I noticed it was a bit runny, so popped it down and picked up the body cream without even opening the lid and popped it into my basket and off to the till I happily skipped!
So finally, onto the review..
Price and packaging~
As mentioned this comes in both the lotion and the cream but when moisturising my body I find that creams/body butters work best and absorb into my skin far better than lotions do so I always opt for the latter choice.
The body cream comes in a delightful lavender coloured, cylindrical shaped tub that is approx 4 inches wide and 1 inch deep.
The tub has an easy to open screw lid top which is also in a dreamy lavender colour, with the johnson's logo written in a darker purple colour in the centre.
The price was at the time of buying £1.66 but was half price so check out other stockists to see if it is cheaper elsewhere.
What is it exactly?~
This is no ordinary body cream - so it claims. It is enriched with moonflower which is known for it's relaxing properties and the 'promise' on the front of the tub is to "Prepare to sleep and awaken to beautiful skin."
The cream is a very pale mauve colour and is quite thick and creamy in consistency which looks like it will melt into my skin on application. So far I'm impressed!
On removing the lid there is a foil cover sealing the cream inside the tub and the second it's pealed back there is a lovely, calming lavender scent filling the air.
My experience of using the cream~
I tend to have skin that borders more on the dry side than 'normal' so apply moisturiser everyday after a shower and this was the case here.
After emerging from my shower I patted my skin but left it slightly damp to allow the body cream to soak into my skin easier.
The cream felt cold on application but not too much was required as I'd predicted it just melted into my skin straight away without having to rub it for ages.
I used all over my body and neck (but not my face) and found I didn't use that much. I was worried it wouldn't last long as the cream comes in a 250ml size tub and thought after 3 or 4 uses it would have gone. I needn't have worried as after smothering myself in it the cream barely looked touched.
Would I recommend it?~
It has such a wonderful, calming aroma and is a fantastic moisturiser - it left my skin feeling very soft the mornings after - so Yes on that.
I have used it for 4 nights running now before climbing into bed and it has made me feel more relaxed whilst I have been reading, however I can't say I actually slept any sounder!
This is a lovely indulgent body cream though that I will definitely be buying once the tub has run out.
5 dreamy stars from me.
