Advantages: Beautiful colour and soft skin all for around £5, cheaper than other self tanners

Disadvantages: Be careful to wash your hands after application or they will go orange

After trying for years to find a decent self tan only to end up streaky and orange I was on the verge of giving up! I'm not the type of girl who likes to sit for hours baking like a lobster when I can be out doing much more important things! So surely self tan is the way forwards.

I must admit I rejoiced when Dove and Johnsons brought out their tinted moisturisers. I tried the Dove one first and became slightly disheartened. Again, I had streaky bits and different colours in different places. So I tried Johnsons and have never looked back. I use the medium to dark one, although you can get it in light to medium aswell.

Before applying the moisturiser I really would recommend exfoliating first otherwise you will get patchy bits. To exfoliate, all I do is rub my skin all over with a rough flannel and it seems to do the trick.

It is really easy to apply the product, just rub it in all over, like you would a moisturiser, and let it dry. Make sure you apply it evenly and make sure you get it in all the nooks and crannies, otherwise you will be left with light and dark patches. It really is important to let it dry before you put clothing on as it will rub off and again you will be left with streaks. It is also very important that you wash your hands straight after application as the tan will develop there and it will again turn streaky and look quite bad.I love the colour this gives and I use it every day to build my colour. It says on the pack that a colour will be fully built after three days but after my first use I had a nice colour the day after. It is definitely worth perservering with and not only do you get a lovely tan, your sin is nice and soft aswell, which a huge bonus in the winter. The bottle lasts for a very long time, I normally buy one every two months and it is worth stocking up when it is on special offer. At present Asda are selling this for £4.86 for 250ml, but occasionally there are offers wher you get two for £5.

I would also recommend the Johnsons Holiday Skin moisturiser for the face, which I use with this product in the lighter shade, although you can just use the main moisturiser all over if you wish.

A nice natural looking tan and you get super soft skin aswell. What more could a girl want!
